This contractor agreed to a price to do the job over the phone after dimensions of the room were given and the ceiling was described. Said he could do the work on a Friday. Friday turned into Monday. Monday turned into Tues at 8 am. No show at 8, but we tracked him down a couple of blocks away at a different job. Came alone to our house, unprepared to do the job. Looked at the ceiling, and then told us it would cost 20% more than he originally quoted and if we wanted him to do the work he could be there tomorrow. On principle, and because we had already heard the story that he would start so many times, we decided to hire someone else instead. We got two more estimates from contractors on the list, both of which were cheaper than the ORIGINAL estimate this contractor gave us.

The plastering crew did a nice job hanging the boards and doing the plaster. Walls came out looking like porcelain! Materials delivery company broke a window, but responded to my concern quickly. High cathedral ceilings are spectacular now. They did make something of a mess of my staircase and a ladder they borrowed from me, but that's not a deal breaker- their walls do look great.
