Sent an email to schedule an appointment, it was never answered. Followed up with phone call, about 3-4 weeks later. They finally contacted me about another month later. They were supposed to come today. I called them three days ago to confirm the appointment, they did not return the call. They did not show up today. I am asking Angie's List for a refund.

The reason why I would not use JJ Electric again because it was difficult to make an appointment. There was an answering service but it took multiple calls and weeks before anyone called back. Once Joe answered a call, then we made progress and the appointment was setup immediately, but that was after 3 weeks of calls. As for the work, it was great. They were on time, definitely knew what they were doing, did everything needed within an hour and cleaned up after themselves. If it was based on the work alone, then I would definitely use again. It was just too hard to setup the initial appointment (not sure if maybe I was in an area that they didn't often service).

They did not get to do it because they would need to cut the drywall in the ceiling and I did not want that, so they could not do the work.

My whole experience with JJL Electric was excellent. The owner called me back the same day I inquired and we were able to make an appointment within 2 weeks. I used a coupon from Angie's list for 2 hours of electrical work for $199. The owner was very upfrint and explained his pricing in detail if the work were to exceed 2 hours. Very honest and fair pricing. The day of the work the electrician that came arrived about 45 min late. This was due to an accident on the highway, but a phone call letting us know would have been appreciated. The electrician came with an apprentice and they both worked hard and efficiently to complete the work within the 2 hour time frame. Work was done well and the electrician was receptive to questions (even about things he wasn't working on). Left a little bit of a mess in the garage, which was already a mess so not too big of a deal. Overall, great experience and will definitely use again.

TERRIBLE! lONG STORY SHORT, 1ST APPOINTMENT CANCELED DUE TO WEATHER WE UNDERSTOOD NO PROBLEM. ANOTHER APPOINTMENT SET UP - GENTLEMAN CAME SAID HE COULD NOT DO THE WORK BECAUSE HE DID NOT HAVE THE CORRECT EQUIPMENT WOULD CALL US NEXT DAY TO SETUP ANOTHER TIME -DID NOT HEAR FROM HIM FOR 2-3-DAYS WE CALLED THE COMPANY EXPLAINED WHAT HAPPENED THEY TOLD US THE WORKER SAID MY HUSBAND HAD AN EMERGENCY AND HAD TO LEAVE, NOT TRUE!!!! i WAS UPSTAIRS WITH OUR DOG -MY HUSBAND CAME UP STAIRS AND TOLD ME THE GUY LEFT BECAUSE HE DID NOT HAVE THE CORRECT PART TO DRILL. THE GENTLEMAN ON THE PHONE SAID HE WOULD HAVE TO TALK TO THE WORKER AGAIN AND HE WOULD CALL US BACK -HE NEVER DID!!! I CALLED HIM AND LEFT A MESSAGE ABOUT 2 WEEKS LATER AND TOLD HIM IF WE DID NOT HEAR FROM HIM THE NEXT DAY I WOULD CANCEL, THEY FINALLY CALLED BACK AFTER I HAD ALREADY PUT IN THE REQUEST TO CANCEL -MAYBE A WEEK LATER. I TOLD THE GENTLEMAN THEIR SERVICES WERE NO LONGER NEEDED THANK YOU AND GOODBYE,

Ordered the coupon via angies list for this special, $99 for 2 hours of work. emailed the company with what I needed done. (I didn't call as it was not an immediate need). It took a month or more for the company to contact me via phone - but as the coupon didn't expire for a few months, and the work I need done was not an emergency it was not a big deal. I could of called directly and would of if needed, and I am sure would of been responded to. Joe called and we setup a date, On the date of work, however I had to call and found out there was a mix up when the electrician did not appear on the time expected. Joe appologized and sent someone out within a few hours. Most of the work was done within the 2 hour limit, but the thermostat that was brought did not work - so the electrician had to go to home depot up the street to purchase another. The work was done and completed statisfactory. Matt was very polite answered questions, and cleaned up as nec. My only issue was when scheduling and on the phone I did say what I wanted to be done with the thermostat, and that I did not have the new replacement as I did not know what to get. Not having a working part in the truck or addressing that issue first to go purchase - wasted time and money (as it went over my 2 hours) and coupon price -so I needed to spend an additional $115 over for time and materials.

He was excellent. He did more than what I asked him to do.

Well. Didn't use up all the time on the purchase but the problem was fixed.

He showed up on time and started right away. He cleaned up after himself after the work.

There were 2 issues with this job: 1) We called in early September, and they finally did the work in late November. Granted, one of the cancellations occurred because of Hurricane Sandy, but by then it was already late October. And, it then took almost another month to get something rescheduled. Our project was only a part-day job, so I suspect it didn't get prioritized. But to wait nearly 2.5 months for some minor electrical work was a nuisance; And, 2) I had purchased a low-ceiling adaptor with the ceiling fans -- I had stacked all of the parts for the ceiling fans and the low-ceiling adapter right under each location for installation -- so I was surprised that they were still in the box when the electrician was packing up. In fact, the ceiling fan installation was done in the standard way, and it was clearly hanging too low for anyone to not be at risk of hitting it (which is why we had purchased the adapters!). Now, when he was asked to change it, he came right back and did it -- so it was ultimately fine, but to me just it demonstrated how little effort had gone into this job.

Wnet very well. Friendly electrician. Explained everything thing clearly.

James was highly professional and responsive. It's refreshing to deal with a vendor who is responsible and follows through, whether it be resolving a problem, returning a phone call or responding to an email.

used a Angie's list coupon for 2hrs .. took longer but worth it... called me when they were on the way .. very polite guys both worked on running new wiring and replacing outlets . had to put new box to hold fan

I purchased an Angie's Big Deal for 2 hours of electrical with JJL. I called twice before getting a return call. When I finally got a return call I told them I needed two outlets installed behind a wall mounted flat screen TV. They said not a problem and that they would be at my house between 4 and 6 pm on Friday to install two outlets. They came in at 5:30 pm and upon arrival the tech took pictures and said he didn't have the parts but would be back on Saturday or Monday and to expect a call from the office. It is now Wednesday evening and there has not been a phone call nor has the work been completed. I have requested a refund for this big deal.

JJL installed the plug and the junction box in about 2 hours with no issues, problems and with minimal hassels. The inside plug box had to be upgraded to accomodate the extra wire and he did this at no extra charge. It went as smooth as I would have hoped.

Anthony from JJL arrived early and completed the job in under 10 minutes. He was very pleasant to deal with and totally exceeded our expectations in every way.

James arrived on time and performed all the work that was promised within the allotted 2 hours from the Big Deal. The electricians I've had in the past tried to milk additional hours out of the promised work, citing extra issues they found. James did what he promised even though it slightly went out the 2 hour mark. He worked the entire time he was there and explained each thing he was doing when he was there. He was very professional and friendly and most importantly, honest. I would hire James again.

I had originally booked my service date last month but understandably the company called me to move it up as they were needed to help out with the aftermath of Hurricane Sandy. I received a reminder call the day before and the electrician was there at 8 am as promised. I had what I thought was the correct dimmers, switch units ready for him although, one of them wasn't the right type and one not the right color. I was putting new switches up after painting, because the old ones were yellowed. When I realized that two of the switches couldn't be replaced because of my error, I thought of some other outlets that could be updated. Jamie ( I think that was his name, but I'm bad at names...) was fast and friendly, zooming around upstairs, downstairs to the basement. I helped him a bit to identify which breaker shut off which outlet by yelling down to him in my basement as he flicked the breakers. I was happy to do so. He got everything done I wanted and then some. He gave me the identifying cardboard back from one of the switch packages he replaced, so that I knew which type to buy when I go to get more. He was cleaned up and done in exactly two hours. It was an extra $14.00 for the replacement outlets that he supplied, but the original deal was 2 hours for $99. Great service! Great energy!

Punctual and professional. Did the job better than expected. I got them through an Angie's list coupon. Communication with the scheduling office was easy and great. (mostly over e-mail with a few calls from them to confirm job and time). My only two complaints: 1) Did not arrived with materials even when the job was very well detailed on the request (excuse was that they were coming from a different job that used the materials they were planning to use here). They had to do two Home Depot runs to get new materials increasing time to complete. 2) The extra materials cost (expected) was a bit inflated (many times over the cost of the materials). They probably make money through that and it is their right to charge over the price of the materials, but I think they went a bit overboard. I think they were compensating for the two trips they did to the Home Depot (in lost time).

It took a few rounds of phone tag but in the end it was totally worth the wait. They did the job fast, professionally, and at an amazingly reasonable price. I would like them to return to do a few more jobs in the house. I hope they can fit us in again! Thanks JJL electric!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I had JJ Electric come once as part of an Angie's Big Deal voucher and then again. The first time, we installed two light fixtures, one of which we had thought might have wiring issues and replaced our bathroom outlet. We had them come back about a month or so later to change out the rest of the fixtures. In both cases, they were prompt, clear about the work being done, dead on with their price estimate and easy to work with. I'd use them again for sure.

JJL moved the electrical outlet and put an HDMI through the ceiling from my AV receiver to the projector. It completely changed the way I do home theater. JJL was punctual, professional, and clean. JJL also looked at an outdoor electrical outlet that was shorted. They fixed it and prepped a floodlight mount that was broken. Overall, a great experience.

Overall it was great, but it started out rocky. My first call the JJL wasn't returned so after 3 weeks I made another. The next available appointment was over a month away. When the electricians showed up (on-time and within their half-hour window with a 45 minute call-ahead) I expected them to complete the job but due to schedule timing and a lack of materials they we only able to review the job and make an appointment for the following week. When they returned they complete the job and did excellent work. I was very happy with the quality of workmanship. They asked for my preference when there were options and gave honest opinions about ways things should be done. I will definitely use JJL in the future.

James and A.J. were punctual, professional and knowledgable as well as polite and friendly. I would definitely hire them again and highly recommend then to Angie's List members.
