It went very well. They were very professional. The gentleman that came was very communicative and explained things to me.

Rory and his colleague were early to the appointment, arriving at the home before me. They were both thorough and took the time to provide detailed answers to all of my questions about the home and its systems. He also gave me a $100 discount off the inspection and a free radon text for being a first-time home buyer. I received a lengthy and detailed report less than 12 hours after the inspection and his company followed up several time with me via email to make sure I have everything I needed.

Rory and a partner arrived promptly and did identify several things that we were able to take care of or at least be aware of prior to putting our home up for sale, which he knew was our goal. However we were unhappy with two things regarding our experience. First, our home inspection report contained several items he stated he could not visualize despite me taking time off from work to be present during the inspection and specifically offering to move whatever needed to be moved. Nor were we informed in advance of the inspection what we should make sure he would be able to visualize. It is possible he was not required to inspect some of these items. Second, he is difficult to contact, specifically telling us not to expect that he would necessarily answer his cell or return calls immediately. That alone would have been OK, we are happy to leave messages or work by email, but he did not answer the email we sent when we had read his report and emailed back to express our concern about the items he could not visualize. We were not expecting him to come back and visualize them---a simple email back stating he was not required to visualize those items would have been sufficient but he didn't even bother to send that. Please note that my rating regarding professionalism has nothing to do with his demeanor during the inspection, it has to do with his lack of communication which I don't think is professional.

Rory Warren was there on time, and was very good an explaining the different aspects of the house. He was very observant, and very good at explaining what he was seeing, and what this meant. I also called Rory after the Radon Test came back high, and he was responsive and very good at answering my questions on what this meant, how resolvable the situation was, and how much the mitigation system would cost. I appreciated his responsiveness, as I was up against a deadline and needed information quickly.

Very well. Unfortunately, the house was on its last legs. Without giving a recommendation, he shared what he knew about its condition that allowed us to make the right decision about buying it.

When I arrived at the house, Rory was already there and had completed the examination of the exterior of the house and was examining the garage. He carried a camera with him and took pictures that he included in his report. The pictures were usually of areas that were issues that needed to be corrected. The house was very well maintained and so was in very good shape. While Rory did find issues that needed to be corrected, he spent a significant amount of time educating us and giving us guidance as to what to do in order to keep the house well maintained. He was very candid, but he was balanced. We got the sense that he really cared about making sure that if we bought the house, we knew as much as possible what we were getting. We got a report by email that evening (33 pages of pictures and issues and discussion related to the inspection; 20 pages of boilerplate home inspection material; about 53 pages in all) I should also add that when I contacted Rory to do an inspection, I had another house in mind that had a potential mold issue (I wasn't sure). While he immediately indicated that he was not a mold expert, Rory did give us his views based on his experience. His views were candid and balanced and, after talking with Jeff May's company (the mold experts), were also wise.

Couldn't have been better. Rory was professional, VERY knowledgeable, and an all around good man. He not only pointed out the problems, but gave us energy saving tips, maintenance tips, and pointed out some good construction that had been done as well. His report came via email very promptly and in the time frame he promised. I would use him again, and I will sing his praises to everyone I can find. This is our first home buying experience, and Rory was so thorough and helpful, it was like being led through the house by your most trusted family member, he really made us comfortable with the process and the few problems we found. He is so knowledgeable, we were really impressed.
