The Salesman [Peter] was very professional and very low pressure... he made two trips to satisfy our curiosity about another type of window. Pricing was good [not the best] but we chose them because of the quality of the windows and the guarantee. Adam came out and remeasured the windows to ensure they would fit. Workmen showed up at the time specified. They were professional, courteous and hard workers. They did an excellent job putting the windows in. Only negative was: salesman promised that weight pockets would be insulated. However, they began to install the windows without insulating. When I informed them of the agreement, there was no arguing or negative behavior. They drove and got the insulation, did an excellent job of that part also. I would absolutely use this company again for window replacement. Excellent clean up - took all their trash with them. Even vacuumed the floor!

Power washed, scraped, primed and then painted. Excellent job.

The primary contact was very prompt and professional. He responded to all our needs. He was on time, and the cleanup was incredible. The workers were all very courteous. We did have one incident where they had accidentally disconnected some cables to the house. It was addressed quickly and taken care of immediately.

This estimate was over $15,000 more than another estimate. They may do quality work, but for a high price.

They were fantastic. They cleaned up very well and they did great work. They were proficient and I would highly recommend them.

Overall, the work was done well. John Dudley, Jr. was easy to work with as was the project manager Eric. The crew was scheduled to start on a Mon. or Tues., the siding was dropped off in my driveway the Wed. or Thur. prior to the est start date. On Fri. of the week they were to begin the project; I had not seen or heard from anyone. I called and was told they were running behind on another project and would start the following Mon. or Tues. It rained the entire next week, so they couldn't start until the following week, which they did. However, that meant that I couldn't park my car in the garage for 3 wks. due to the materials in the driveway (not a major issue, just an inconvenience). They finished the work on Thurs. and the clean up was emaculate. The siding and paint job looks great. They also replaced a dryer vent and gable end vent at no cost and w/out my asking, which was great! The trash was neatly stacked in my driveway, but it took several more days for them to remove it.

The contractor arrived on time but when they got there they were more interested in selling us fiberglass cement siding than providing an estimate on the job we wanted. They were extremely aggressive, took a large amount of my time, and in the end instead of getting the estimate we wanted on the work we wanted we got a lengthy sales pitch and an estimate for siding that came in at over three times the estimates other contractors gave us for the work we really wanted done. All in all a huge waste of my time.

I called for an estimate and they didn't show up.

Job was too small (not enough money in it). Salesperson acted like a USED CAR SALESMAN.

I hired United Painters to do the whole job of resiiding and painting my new home (interior and exterior). The interior painting job was done very professionally. As for the exterior, I had extreme problems. I was told that the start date would be one day, when it was really another. The crew that was hired (Lou's Crew) did absolutely unacceptable work. When they showed up to work, and only after repeatedly calling the project manager's Adam & Eric, did I finally get a new crew that was absolutely great. They only took about a week to get the siding finished. Then the painters came and painted the house in the cold, which caused the paint to peel. They had to come back in the spring to redo the job. I should not have had to play General Contractor on this job, constantly having to continually check up on the exterior crew to see if they were working and then having to continually call the project manager to get the work done right for this price.

The company seemed to have great references and apparently does quality work. Had I chosen to use fiber cement siding, I would have hired them. However, the representative (David) was a little abrasive. He took offense when I suggested ways to improve their book of customer comments (granted, I might have phrased my comments better). He also gave me a misleading chart of window performance. I later called him to ask if he could send me to a home where he had done vinyl shingles, and he said he didn't have one. Finally, he called a few days later, and got very indignant when I said I went with someone else. He said I should have called to tell him because of all the time he spent to give me a free estimate. Well, all the other bidders called ME, I didn't know I was expected to call him. He also didn't remember that he couldn't provide me with a sample home. I don't think I should have been put on the defensive because I hired someone else, no one gets every job they bid.

I didn't want a huge company doing the job, I wanted something smaller

Our experience was excellent...workmen were polite, dependable, efficient and hard-working. Quality was very high.

They were very responsive to our first and subsequent telephone calls. They provided excellent information which helped us to select the brand of windows that we had installed. We arranged a mutually acceptable installation time when the windows came in. They did the whole job in two days, came back the next work day to quickly clean up some minor punch list items. The crew all work for United Home Experts, worked well, answered any questions we had, and went out of their way to be helpful. The management made sure that we were pleased with the work.

UNITED HOME EXPERTS WERE GREAT. AN ESTIMATE WAS GIVEN TO ME ON THEIR FIRST VISIT. THEY COORDINATED THEIR SCHEDULE WITH MY ASBESTOS ABATEMENT CONTRACTOR. THEY SHOWED UP EARLY AND WORKED LATE AND ON WEEKENDS BECAUSE OF A RAINY SEPTEMBER. BOTH THE CONSTRUCTION AND PAINT CREWS WERE GREAT GUYS WHO WOULD WAIT FOR ME BEFORE DOING ANY WORK THEY HAD QUESTIONS ABOUT. THE HOUSE LOOKS AWESOME!

THEY HAVE BEEN DOING A VERY POOR JOB. THEY DID NOT CLEAN UP WELL AFTER THE ROOFING JOB AND LEFT NAILS AND SCRAPS IN THE YARD. THEY DID NOT PUT THE ROOF ON OVER THE KITCHEN AND WHEN IT RAINED, I HAD LEAKS EVERYWHERE. THEY ALSO LEFT A MESS AFTER THE SIDING JOB. IT TOOK THEM MONTHS TO FIX ALL THESE PROBLEMS. AFTER INSTALLING THE SIDING THEY PUT THE STORM WINDOWS BACK ON INCORRECTLY AND I CANNOT CLOSE THEM. THEY ALSO RIPPED A SCREEN WHEN REPAIRING THE SHINGLES AND I HAVE YET TO GET THESE THINGS REPAIRED. THE EXTERIOR OF THE HOUSE IS RED WITH WHITE TRIM AND THEY SPLATTERED WHITE PAINT ALL OVER THE RED HOUSE. THEY ALSO PAINTED THE SHUTTERS IN THE SNOW AND THEY ARE NOW BUBBLING. I HAD TO CALL THEM MANY TIMES AND IT IS VERY HARD TO GET THEM OUT TO FIX THE PROBLEMS. I HAVE EVEN SPOKEN TO THE OWNER SEVERAL TIMES AND THEY ARE DELAYING THE PROBLEMS. THE SUPERVISOR OF THE PAINTING WILL NOT EVEN COME OUT TO SURVEY THE JOB. HE SENDS OTHER WORKERS AND SENT SOMEONE IN THE DARK LAST NIGHT!

WORK CREWS WERE COURTEOUS, PROFESSIONAL AND DETAIL-ORIENTED. THE FINISHED PROJECT WAS EXCELLENT QUALITY. ALONG THE WAY THERE WERE MINOR CHANGES THAT HAD TO BE MADE (WINDOWS SHIFTED SLIGHTLY OUT OF FRAMES DURING SIDING PROCESS; MISCOMMUNICATION ABOUT STAIN COLOR ON DECK) BUT THE CREWS WERE EASY TO WORK WITH. FOLLOW UP AFTER WORK WAS COMPLETED FOR LEAKING GUTTERS WAS EXTREMELY FAST. ''B'' GRADE FOR PROFESSIONALISM WAS RELATED TO CLEANLINESS -- PAINT SPILLED ON WALKWAY AND SOME DEBRIS LEFT IN SHRUBS, ETC. ALSO HAD A MINOR COMMUNICATION ISSUE AROUND STAIN COLOR SELECTION DUE TO LANGUAGE DIFFERENCES BUT THIS WAS RESOLVED. JOHN DUDLEY JR. (SALES CONTACT) WAS GREAT TO WORK WITH AND RETURNED CALLS/ANSWERS PROMPTLY.

ESTIMATES WERE PROFESSIONALLY DRAWN UP. THEY DIDN'T OVER CHARGE ME FOR ADDITIONAL WORK NOT MENTIONED IN THE ESTIMATE. THEY FINISHED PROMPTLY ONCE THEY BEGAN THE WORK. I THOUGHT THEY WERE WELL ORGANIZED AND THEY WERE VERY POLITE. I THOUGHT ALL THE WORKERS DID AN EXCELLENT JOB, BUT WOULD RECOMMEND THAT THE OWNER OF THE COMPANY PERHAPS TAKE A FINAL CHECK OF THE WORK COMPLETED. I WOULD STRONGLY RECOMMEND THIS COMPANY AND WOULD USE THEM AGAIN.

THEY DID A TERRIBLE JOB SANDING (WALLS WERE GOUGED AND UNEVEN WHERE PAPER REMOVED), DIDN'T DO ANY CAULKING, PAINTED TWO ROOMS THE WRONG COLOR, DRIPPED PAINT ON THE NEWLY REFINISHED FLOORS AND ON THE BALUSTRADES AND HANDRAILS, AND GOT WALL PAINT ON THE TRIM AND TRIM PAINT ON THE WALLS--IN EVERY ROOM. THEY MISSED A SECTION OF THE WALL IN THE KITCHEN, AND ONLY DID ONE COAT IN THE BATHROOM (SO THAT THE BLUE PAINT UNDERNEATH SHOWED STREAKILY THROUGH THE WHITE ON TOP). THE WORKERS SPOKE LITTLE ENGLISH SO COMMUNICATION WAS IFFY. THEY SHOWED UP UNANNOUNCED AT 9AM ON THANKSGIVING MORNING (I STILL DON'T KNOW WHY). WHEN I CALLED THE REP TO COMPLAIN ABOUT THE WORK, HE WAS VERY COURTEOUS AND SENT PEOPLE OUT TO REDO THE WORK. BUT, THEY DID THE ABSOLUTE MINIMUM (ONLY FIXING THE EXACT THINGS THAT I POINTED OUT, AND THEY FORGOT A FEW SMALL THINGS). I'M JUST TOO BUSY TO KEEP CALLING THEM BACK TO REDO THE WORK TO THE LEVEL IT SHOULD BE.

TONY (ESTIMATOR) WAS VERY PROFESSIONAL. WE DISCUSSED THE FACT THAT I HAD LEAD PAINT; TONY ASSURED ME THAT THEY WOULD BE CAREFUL DURING THE PAINTING PROCESS. THEY USED A SUBCONTRACTOR THAT THEY HAD NEVER WORKED WITH BEFORE. THEY DID NOT COVER UPSTAIRS WINDOWS WHILE SANDING SECOND STORY, LEAD PAINT SCRAPINGS WERE ALL OVER THE GROUND AND INSIDE THE HOUSE. SUPERVISOR (ERIC) OFFERED TO COME OUT AND DISCUSS TROUBLE WITH ME BEFORE THEY STARTED PAINTING. BEFORE I AGREED TO PROCEED, I CAME HOME AND ONE SIDE OF THE HOUSE AND PART OF THE FRONT HAD ALREADY BEEN PAINTED. PRIMER WAS APPLIED TO ALL BARE WOOD BEFORE SCRAPING WAS COMPLETE. A NEW SUB WAS SENT WITH NO WARNING! THE NEW SUBS PAINTED THE HOUSE WITH THE WRONG COLOR PRIMER; THEN THE WRONG COLOR PAINT. WHEN DISCUSSED WITH MANAGER, HE ADMITTED THEY HAD REPLACED THE PAINT WE PICKED OUT WITH ANOTHER BRAND THAT THEY DID NOT MATCH BEFORE PAINTING.

JOB WAS DONE BY A SUBCONTRACTOR WHOSE WORK WAS GOOD OVERALL. THE BEST PART WAS THE RESPONSE TO A QUALITY PROBLEM FOR WHICH THE FIRM WORKED SUCCESSFULLY TO WIN MY SATISFACTION!

THE SALES CYCLE WAS EXCELLENT WITH ALL INFORMATION AND SAMPLES PROVIDED PROMPTLY. WORK ON THE SIDING WAS PROFESSIONALLY DONE AND REASONABLY ON TIME. THE PAINTING WAS A DISASTER WITH POOR COLOR CHOICE, ARROGANT WORKMAN, POOR CLEAN UP AND THE LIKE. FOR A COMPANY WHO'S HISTORY BEGAN WITH PAINTING WE WERE VERY SURPRISED, BECAUSE THEY HAD DONE AN EXCELLENT JOB ON OUR DECKS. WE SUSPECT THE PAINTERS MAY HAVE BEEN SUB-CONTRACTORS, WHEREAS EVERYONE ELSE WAS AN EMPLOYEE OF UNITED. OTHERWISE WE WOULD HAVE GIVEN THEM A'S IN MOST CATEGORIES.

BEST OVERALL EXPERIENCE WITH A CONTRACTOR I'VE HAD IN 31 YEARS OF HOME OWNERSHIP. I USED THEM AGAIN TO PAINT THE ENTIRE HOUSE. I AM GRATEFUL TO ANGIE'S LIST FOR FINDING THEM FOR ME, AFTER YEARS OF SEARCHING FOR A CONTRACTOR WHO COULD DO SIDING FOR A TUDOR STYLE HOME.

VERY GOOD COMPANY. WENT BEYOND THE CALL OF DUTY, I WOULD HIRE THEM AGAIN.

UNITED IS AN EXCELLENT COMPANY, VERY PROFESSIONAL AND EFFICIENT. JOHN, SR. GAVE A DETAILED ESTIMATE OF THE JOB COST AND SCHEDULE, AND THE PAINTING CREW WAS GREAT TO WORK WITH. THEY SHOWED UP ON TIME, WORKED NEATLY AND QUICKLY, AND WERE VERY RESPONSIBLE. MOSES WAS HELPFUL WITH COLOR ADVICE WHEN I WAS ABOUT TO MAKE A VERY BAD CHOICE. I DEFINITELY WILL HIRE THEM AGAIN SOON.
