First time use their service and we are very happy. Everyone that we interacted with is professional. We got the estimate quickly, the crew did an excellent work of pruning large and small trees around our house, good clean up afterwards. The only downside was it took long to schedule job as they are fully booked. Would definitely use them again.

I have a large tree in my yard that needs to be removed. It’s lost several large limbs over the last few years (it’s approx 75% smaller). The last limb fell partially on my patio shortly after I went inside. I’m concerned that it could fall if we get a bad storm. I received two recommendations for Stumpy’s and called them in July 2020. The earliest appointment I could get for a quote was August 25th. I called a few weeks later to see if I could get an earlier appointment. They never called back. The quote was done on Aug 25th, as planned. I was okay with the cost of $2000.00 but I was told that they would not be able to do the job until October and that I had pay 50% up front. I called later that afternoon to see if I could get something before Oct. and pay the deposit if they could. They never returned my call. I get it that you’re busy because of the recent storms. However, why on earth would anyone hire a company that (1)can’t do a job in a timely fashion & (2) they don’t return your calls anyway?

Project went very well. Stumpy's is very professional, has first class equipment and employees. Did the job in half a day and cleaned up well.

these people are busy, so getting on the schedule can take time. however, on the "big day" the crew arrived on time and was totally prepared for the task. it was truly impressive to see the huge crane, the chipper, the efficiency of the team. they were totally professional, communicated well, and they were particularly careful to clean any debris from the work area. I had the impression that they are very careful about safety on the job. of note, they are among a small number of tree services with an appropriate huge crane for removing trees in difficult locations.

A 60-70 foot elm had developed a 3-foot split from a fork 30 foot up from the ground. We could see daylight through it! The tree was only 15 feet from the house, so no room for amateurs. There was also a red oak, in a less dangerous location, that had deteriorated to the point that it was a risk. Stumpy's gave us an estimate a couple of days after we called, and an appointment. They were able to do the job ahead of schedule. They showed up as promised, did a fantastic job and left the site immaculate. I would recommend them to anyone.

Be sure that you're home when they come to do the work so you can supervise the crew closely. I asked for just a few specific limbs to be removed from the two trees - one over a power line and a couple hanging low over the driveway and roof. The estimator took note of that and wrote up the work order accordingly. When I came home in the evening the day Stumpy's did the work, I found they had removed at least 1/3 of each tree - far more than I had asked for. They also removed large limbs in sections of the trees we never talked about. I counted 14 cuts they had made, when I had expected 5 or 6 at most. These were nice big shade trees; Stumpy's work left my house and lawn with significantly less shade. I complained to the company and their explanation was that the crew did what it thought best for the trees. But I didn't hire them to do what they thought best - I hired them to do what I asked. They're my trees, after all. I've hired Stumpy's in the past to do complete removal of trees. They did fine at that. But I wouldn't hire them again to do pruning.

There was a scheduling snafu initially, and I took a day off from work only to have the crew leave after an hour. The two trees were removed but none of the pruning was done. I called Karly twice, but they were unable to get a crew to come back the same day to finish the work. They immediately offered me a crew the next day, but I could not be there. They scheduled a crew for later in the week when my husband could be home. The crew arrived early and walked around the yard with both my husband and me. They were awesome and gave us good advice on some of our damaged trees. When I came home from work tonight, I was so pleased with the job they did. My property looks awesome!! Despite an encounter with a hostile neighbor, the crew was incredibly professional and handled the situation well. I cannot thank them enough. The pricing was slightly more than another quote, but the other tree company wanted me to pay a lawyer to get the neighbor to "OK" the trimming of his trees over my property. We will definitely use Stumpy's again for our tree services.

5 man crew. They used a crane and other equipment to remove the trees in one or two pieces each, chipped all the branches and hauled away the trunks. Cleaned up everything. Sawed up one of the trees for firewood at my request. Did it all in 5 hours.

This is the third time Stumpy's has done excellent tree work in the almost 27 years I've lived here in a two-family condo house, so cost is shared 50/50. Stumpy's arrived at the date and time they said they'd be here, The work crew of 3 men were competent, very pleasant and professional, and they knew exactly what we had agreed would be done. It took about 2 hours on the hillside to cut the tree branches clear, and then saw them up as requested and add them to the previous fallen tree wood and brush "terrace" that has worked so well over the years--recycling the fallen wood, and making a natural terrace to hold back erosion on the steep hillside in the rear of the house, allowing new ground cover and other plants to grow. They did a fine job, on the first day of a June heatwave. Communication with the office people all along was also a pleasure, as usual. Thank you Stumpy's and thank you Angie's List for the 5% senior discount they offered.

We had a dozen 60-80 foot trees that needed to come down, and we could not have a crane on the lawn to cut them down due to a septic system. As a result, we needed a crane that would reach over our entire house to get to the trees in the back. They sent two people out on different dates to take measurements and make sure their crane would reach over the house without issue, and also asked for the septic plans so they could be sure no heavy equipment would come near it. In general, I appreciated the care they took to make sure no damage was done. What's more, they completed all work in a single day with 4-6 inches of snow on the ground. I would definitely hire them again.

It went very well. The Stump's team was extremely organized and efficient, and their equipment was state-of-the-art. They even used a very large crane to move trees over our house (moving them from where they were cut to the chipper in our driveway). We couldn't believe how quickly and effectively they got the job done.

Badly. More limbs cut off than agreed on initial planning visit, also left several dead limbs as well. Also ended up paying the extra $100 for service that was NOT needed as crew removed nails and put through chipper anyway. Terrible customer service because when I called and asked for $100 back for a service not used, they blamed me for breaking blade on chipper! No "Sorry that happened, not sure why the crew didn't follow instructions" but rather "Oh that's why the blade broke, because of your stump - do you know how expensive those blades are?". Make sure you inspect all their work before paying because a quick $100, multiplied by several customers a month, over the year, can be a tiny sum of money for them.

A crew of five with a crane, bobcat, cherry-picker utility truck, and chipper truck & trailer showed up punctually, put down plywood boards on the lawn as paid for. This job required precision, experience, and good coordination with the crew as it was a tight space near and over a large garage, a fence and homes. This was a real professional crew that was led by Jason (to my recollection) who was courteous and informative. Overall the crew did an excellent job, cleaned up professionally. Highly recommend them.

We needed 3 tree stumps removed from our backyard. All 3 were in a fenced-in pool area, so we needed a company with a portable stump grinder. After making a few phone calls to various companies, Stumpy's confirmed they had portable equipment and would come out to quote. With fall being their busy season, they were clear it would be a few weeks before they could quote. The person quoting was knowledgeable and confirmed they could do the work over the next few weeks, tied in to when they would be in the area with other work. They contacted dig-safe, and removed the stumps the day after the yard was flagged. We paid for cleanup, and after the work the yard was immaculate, with the crew spreading the existing mulch over the work area. You can't tell there were ever any stumps. We highly recommend Stumpy's!

In addition to their good rating on Angies List, Stumpy's came recommended from someone at work. It took a little while to reach them, but once we did, they came out quickly and could do the work the soonest. They were extremely professional with a multi worker/ vehicle operation that operated like clockwork. While it was scary for us to watch as giant sections of trees were lifted by crane over our house to the waiting trucks on the other side, it was clear that they knew what they were doing. They did a great job cleaning up too. We are beyond pleased with the work they did.

Excellent. Very impressive. In less than two hours they had a crane set up- it was in our backyard and needed to be lifted out and over the house. They had it all chipped up and gone with the driveway cleaned in short order. Amazing work. Very professional, polite and efficient. Offered best price out of 3 estimates.

I called Stumpy's, and they were amazingly courteous. Caitlin, in the office could not have been more helpful. Mark came out to survey and bid the job. He was polite, funny, and knowledgable. When the crew arrived to do the work, they were friendly and professional. They did the work, not only to my satisfaction, but beyond that. They did it to their satisfaction, which so exceeded mine. Stumpy's is my go to service from now on!

The job was excellent. They used plywood for the path of the bucket trucks to prevent lawn damage. They cleaned up all trimmings. They even fluffed up the grass after the job was compete.

Stumpy's was excellent. They were able to send me a quote the same day as the estimate and were able to fit me into the schedule within 1 week when all other companies were at least 2 to 3 weeks out even though they were also very busy. They showed up on time, were able to get their equipment in to a very tight spot and didn't stop working until they were done. I highly recommend their services. This is the second time that I have hired them and I wouldn't think of using anyone else.
