Finished the same day started (on a Saturday, no less!) and price was very reasonable. Replaced the master drain, which was badly damaged, and made the new part fit perfectly into a 50+ year old pipe.

Jeff was recommended by Wes (S and W tiling) to take care of the toilet around the time of the tiling the bathroom floor. Jeff came over for the estimate, (at 7AM, working around my schedule) and patiently walked through the house with us to evaluate other potential plumbing jobs to be done at the same time (snaking a toilet, diagnosing why the lavatory sink didn't drain) and then took care of all the work as scheduled. (he was especially amused by our cat who sat and purred in the sink while he worked on the drain.) When we realized that we really needed to replace the toilet he came by, gave suggestions on the model, and then took care of replacing the toile and basin in a timely fashion, working around our painters.

I was quite satisfied with him, and have given his name to many people. He is prompt, courteous, has excellent prices, and does good work.

The work was performed exactly as promised -- the new boiler was up and running at the end of the work day. All the old boiler and parts were disposed of. The boiler and water heater are vented into the re-lined chimney and a new vent was added to the cellar. Jeff is very responsive and has been back to complete the inspection and sign off by the Town and to attend to the expected adjustment of the radiators to the newer more powerful boiler. All in all I could not be happier. I can recommend Jeff without reservation.

I got Jeff's contact information from the tile installer I was using for my Kitchen and Bathroom, S&W Tile. S&W Tile installed new tile in my bathroom as well as a new underlayment (where previously there was none). This raised the height of my floor 1/2", meaning that some of the fixtures needed to be raised up to accomodate. I contacted Jeff, and he was able to come out the next day in the morning to give me an estimate. He said the work wouldn't be a problem, and came the day after the tile was to be grouted to reattach the fixtures. On the day of, Jeff and his apprentice were punctual, and within a few hours, they had reattached the tub, the toilet, and the sink. Because the shower curtain wasn't up yet, we weren't able to fully test the shower. Unfortunately, when I got the shower curtain put back up, and the bathroom back in order a few days later (I think it was a Friday), I noticed that the flow on the hot water side was very low. I called Jeff up, and he offered to come out the next day (on a Saturday) to take a look. As it turns out, the hot water mixer was clogged with a piece of a gasket that he was able to free within a few minutes. Jeff was nice enough to perform this service without charge.

Went very well. Very quick response time, fixed problem same day as phone call. Professional and knows what he is talking about. Got an estimate for another project from him a while back. We did not end up doing the project but by far Ryan plumbing had the best estimate and solution to a complex project.

My brothers and I inherited a 100 year old three decker house in W. Somerville. Two of the baths and two of the kitchens needed repairs and upgrading. I got a quote from the plumber that my father had used for many years. His price was very high and so I needed to get another quote. I joined Angie's List and read the reviews on all plumbers within 5 miles of the address. I called Jeffrey Ryan based on the fact that many customers were impressed by his ability to return phone calls and be punctual for appointments. Assuming all skills fairly equal among plumbers, I seek out contractors that can communicate well. I called and found him to be very well spoken and flexible enough to squeeze us in. His estimate was very reasonable and he made some excellent suggestions to save us money. We were able to get the work done in both bathrooms without any problems. As a bonus, his plumbing skills exceeded my expectations. I look forward to using him again when we're ready to work on the kitchens.

Jeff came for a consultation and offered an array of recommendations that suited my home. He looked carefully at existing fixtures and systems. We eventually selected the Baxi Boiler -- a little more expensive than others, but small and efficient, with the added advantage of no more water heater! Jeff came back immediately with an estimate, we set a date about a month in advance and -- miracle of miracle -- Jeff and an associate arrived on the appointed day 10 minutes early! He explained throughout what he was doing, that hot water and gas would be off overnight, and when finished (three hours early! -- the whole process took less than two days), explained the tax rebate, warranty and most important -- how the new furnace etc. worked. He guarantees his work and I believe him. The place was left cleaner than when he and his team arrived -- old stuff out, new stuff in, and area swept up. His work was impeccable: everything beautiful level, new copper pipes. Really, could not have been better.

I am the new owner of an two-family home in Watertown. One of my new tenants mentioned that the toilet was not flushing properly. It is an old house (early 1900's) and I suspected the drains may need servicing so I called Ryan Plumbing. Jeff returned my call later that same day and we set-up a visit a day or so later. While on the phone we talked though the problem and he was open with what the potential issues could be, and eliminated other possibilities. Upon arrival he inspected the house's plumbing and gave me (the new homeowner) an eduction. He snaked the toilet and found it to be clean, but it was still not flushing probably. He dated the toilet to be 25-years-old and recommended replacing it. Within a couple days he emailed me a quote to replace the toilet. He met me early in the morning, with his assistant, and replaced the toilet within an hour - I was at work at a reasonable time. Replacing a toilet is a fairly simple process, but as it turned out the flange on the bottom of the toilet was rotted away and required Jeff's "expertise" to flange a better fitting - having him do the job so quickly was well worth the cost and my tenants were not bothered at all. I will call Ryan Plumbing again.

I found Ryan Plumbing off Angie’s list. He was very friendly. He did not have to do many things. It was a simple job. The guy that came was fine.

I would have used him. He was the second one that I would have picked. I liked the guy. He sounded very confident. His price was around $15000 or 16000. He was straightforward. He seemed very honest. I had checked with a plumbing inspector and he was a pretty good plumber. It was a tough choice to make. I had 5 quotes which was more than what I should have done. One of them was for high efficiency which I decided not to do. Then the other one asked me if wanted a permit or not. One of them was very expensive and didn’t take the time. Ryan took the time and did some research for me as compared to the other one. It wasn’t for my house but, it was for my sister and brother-in-law’s house. The one that I picked had given me a quote on my house 4 or 5 years ago. I just felt like going with him since I had used him in the past. I would consider them for another quote in the future.

Responded and scheduled service within an hour. Explained options and prices clearly. Will definitely use again.

Ryan Plumbing is wonderful. He has done large and small projects for us in the past and he is excellent. He is on time, honest and does good work. He is pleasant and listens. He is everything you would want in a plumber. I would recommend hiring Jeff. He really knows his stuff and is polite. He is a really great guy.

We woke up one morning and there was a sewer river flowing through our basement. We called Ryan plumbing and Jeff came out within the hour. He figured out fairly quickly that it was a sink/disposal backup( as opposed to the other kind) in the pipes in the basement and took care of the mess within the hour. I couldnt be happier with Jeff and his team.... I would highly recommend them to anybody and have used them for several other projects since with excellent results.

Jeff came out promptly on both occasions and was incredibly pleasant to interact with. The first fix was a breeze, but the second was more challenging. I felt he was really invested in solving the problem and also very knowledgeable about plumbing. I felt I was in competent hands. I've also called him more than once to discuss bathtubs for a bathroom remodel that we're planning, and in each instance he's been generous with his time and expertise. Jeff comes across as honest, fair, and good at what he does. I couldn't be happier with the service he's provided me, and I've already recommended him to others.

It was early Sunday morning when our hot water heater died. I checked Angie's List, left a message at Ryan plumbing and within a half hour he responded. He immediately sent over his assistant, a very pleasant man, who made sure everything would be okay until the next day. Mr. Ryan Jr. called us soon-after with an estimate and set up a time to come early the next morning. They were there promptly and worked quickly and professionally. The final price was the same as the estimate and we were very pleased.

Jeff was absolutely great to work with. He knew his stuff, was able to quickly identify and articulate exactly what needed to be done, including some significant retrofitting of venting that some other plumbers had missed. His estimate was reasonable, and he was punctual and efficient. As a homeowner managing a renovation, it's important to have someone you enjoy working with. He was able to work within my schedule, adjust plans as the project evolved, and was always willing to provide advice on a wide variety of topics. He was willing to adjust pipes that ended up conflicting with a light fixture, and add the line for the refrigerator at the last minute. With Jeff, I know that our plumbing will be done right.

We had 20 radiators & Jeff replaced all the air vents w/new thumb/coin slot vents at no charge. Also, he showed up early to demo the old boiler & expansion tank & get ready for the new boiler delivery. Jeff also provided a very thorough heat/loss estimate for the house which is essential in sizing the boiler properly for the house. Overcapacity (too many BTUs) is the biggest problem w/loss of efficiency w/these new boilers. Heat/loss estimates are mandatory if you don't want to lose your shirt in boiler efficiency. At no point did I not know what was going on or feel uncomfortable w/Jeff's schedule. They subbed the wiring to another electrical contractor (but were up front about this). The job included installation of a hard wired CO Monitor (required by MA Law). Not that price is the most important thing - but Jeff was one of the most competitive bids (versus two that were around 18K - yes, 10K more to install the same box!). Thanks for the great work, Jeff! I'm definitely planning on having him do more work for us in the future!
