It was easy! I emailed photos of the furniture to Howard, and he got back to me with an estimate. He offered to pick up the set, and he showed up when he said he would. He used automobile paint which has a great finish. I'm very happy with the results. The sanding and painting of these pieces is a job I've come to dread over the years, and my work never looked this good. Howard also does furniture repairs and refinishing. I will definitely contact him again.

These are 35 years old, had been a bit abused...but you wouldn't know that to look at them now!

Howard was extremely responsive and willing to negotiate a price for the project. The sideboard was in pretty rough shape, needing not only refinishing but some repair and polishing of brass pieces. The results are spectacular. Howard is a true artisan - this meant that I was required to visit his workshop on a couple of occasions to evaluate the work in progress and approve a stain color. I appreciated his attention to detail and the quality of his workmanship. Howard did have the piece for about three months, but to be fair I stated up front that there was no urgency. He made a real effort to deliver it in time for the holidays, which I appreciated.

Howard responded quickly, clearly described how he would do the repair work, offered a fair price, did a great job, and finished when he said he would. I already have recommended him to friends.

He was prompt when I called for a quote on four pieces of furniture that needed to be refinished. He came to the house and looked at the pieces and told me what would need to be done for repairs. We agreed on which pieces of furniture he would start with and he picked them up and brought them to his shop. I was extremely pleased when I got them back and now I will be having the other pieces of furniture done. I would highly recommend him.

Howard was easy to work with, timely, and professional. He sanded and repainted a dresser and tall bureau from the 70's. They look beautiful! I will be contacting him again to refinish several other pieces in my home.

Mr. Freeman reponded immediately to my message requesting an estimate. to refinish two end tables that had been in our family for years. Though I was willing to bring the tables into his shop, he offered to stop by our house to provide an estimate, saving me a trip. He brought a impressive book of his work (before and after examples), so I felt confident that he would so a good job. Once Mr. Freeman had stripped the tables, he called and asked if we would like to stop by to see what the finish would look like. In addition, he removed and polished the hardware and replaced a missing bit of edging. He actually charged $50 less than the estimate because he said it was actually a bit less work than he thought. The tables turned out beautifully! I would definitely recommend Professional Furniture Services.

Floor lamp from post WWII era badly needed refinishing and repair of a leg. It was of great sentimental value, which Howard from Professional Furniture Services completely appreciated. The job was done sooner than I expected and better than I expected. The price was a bargain in regard to how well and quickly the job was done. We will return to Professional Furniture Services with any other work we need done.

Overall, I was quite pleased. The table looks brand new. My wife is happy too!

Howard came over and reviewed the various pieces of furniture we wanted refinished. He proposed altenratives (cheaper!) for some of the repairs that were needed. Gave us quotes for each piece that he stuck with, regardless of whether more work than originally envisoned was needed. . Over a period of several months we have given him the various pieces (about a dozen different items) to refinsh and have been extremely pleased with his work. We first had him refinsh bathroom cabinet doors. The outcome was superb. Highly recommend him. Punctual, professional and quite reasonably priced. Still have a table to give him

What a find! At a loss as to how to repair an upholstered bench, I went to Angie's list and found Professional Furniture services -- a five minute drive from my home. they were prompt and professional. Would definitely use them again.

Excellent job from start to finish. The kitchen table was quite a mess (including gouges from the nails of my daughter's very large dog, who is constantly in search of hidden morsels of food). Also refinished the seats and repaired our kitchen chairs--actually transformed the seats so they look better than ever. Finally, our beautiful wall clock had fallen off the wall and shattered on the floor (but surprisingly, the glass was intact). Didn't think it was repairable, as there were splinters of wood scattered throughout the room, but Howard was able to piece the puzzle together and you can't even tell it happened. Also, Howard was a pleasure to work with and obviously (and justifiably) takes great pride in his work. Will absolutely use him again. UPDATE: This is more an addendum to a previously glowing report I wrote for Howard. An arm on a previously-repaired chair became loose, and Howard immediately arrived to pick it up and repair it...he couldn't have been more pleasant and his workmanship terrific. Also, I had asked him about some in-house repair work and he recommended someone for the job. I did not follow up on his recommendation (though I was planning to!), but I did subsequently receive a phone call from the person as Howard had contacted him about my problem. The subsequent repair work was exceptional. Howard is a full service, thoughtful person to work with...trust me, you'll be happy.

We have no reason to call anyone else for such repairs and restorations. At this writing, he has six chairs in need of repair and is restoring a dresser that is over 100 years old. As with everything he does, we are looking forward to seeing the great work he have come to expect from him.

Howard was referred to us by a contractor that is performing major projects in our house. Howard came to meet with me after we agreed on a date/time, looked at the tables, showed me other work he had done, gave us a quote and agreed on a pick up time/date. He picked up the tables on the agreed date, fixed them in the agreed time and returned them on the day we agreed.

A very pleasant person to work with. He charged us just about half of an estimate we got from another professional. He did not charge us for the estimate, whereas his competitor charged us $75 for it. At the end, although we changed our mind and added a painting job (which is more expensive - he did not charge us for the difference. Highly recommended.

All work was done on time and on budget. Best of all, my scarred and stained table top is beautiful...better than new...with a finish that will withstand frequent use. I'd use these services again in a heartbeat!

So we find the double vanity that we love - we get excited - then we find it on sale for crazy money off. We order it. It arrives, but it's nearly black, even though the photos on the web sites we saw all showed a rich brown of some kind. We are doing an all new master bath, with a spa theme with all sorts of brown earth tones in the tiles and so on, so having this thing stay black would be a visual eyesore. We stumbled onto Howard on this site (AngiesList), read the kazillions of amazing reviews, discussed the project and he more than delivered on what we were after. We got to pick out the exact color we wanted from a paint shop, and then he had a custom finish lacquer produced. He took the entire thing apart, all doors, hardware, top mounts (for the sinks which are separate basins), and completely and perfectly filled every hole (for new handles that we want) and refinished the entire thing in a whole new color. It looks amazing, way better than when we bought it the month before (it was brand new). So yeah, we lost what we saved by buying it on sale, but we scored huge getting our perfect color. Howard was extremely effective communicating our options for refinishing, and he was able to both pick up and return the item to our home. Great service, great guy.

Howard is wonderful!! He was prompt to return our initial inquiry, came out to our house to look at the cradle before giving us his estimate, and did perfect work replacing stripped screws, refastening the support beam, and matching the original wood stain on the dowels. Even though it was a small job (he even said that we might be able to do it), he understood the priceless and sentimental importance of this item and gladly took on the work. From start to finish he was done in less than a week.

Howard Freeman brought the table back, when he said it would be back, looking brand new. Although not part of the original conversation, he also went ahead and cleaned out the accumulated years of food in the areas that we had not discussed refinishing, so the table really does feel new again. I'd recommend him without hesitation.
