+ -1 moreMatt Shields came to my house to look at the trees. We agreed to bid the potential removal of one tree separately as we will do that at a later date. He was on time, very professional, and very knowledgeable. His bid was reasonable and pretty much what I expected the job to cost. It was a tough decision, but we decided to go with another arborist, not only because he bid the job $200 less, but because I had seen him work on a neighbor's tree. I think Cedar Lawn would have done an excellent job, and I would absolutely recommend them.
Description of Work: Bid on pruning 4 large sugar maple trees, and removing branches $1536.77. Also bid on removing one large sugar maple next to our garage: $1575 to remove tree, plus $175 to grind stump. He mailed a typed bid to me, which I received two days after he came to my house. We got bids from two arborists for this job.

+ -1 moreThe Japanese maple had some winter damage and dead limbs. It has not been well pruned in many years. The estimator explained what was needed in terms of pruning and recommended Fall fertilization. It was easy to schedule the meeting for the estimate, and they returned in 2 weeks to fertilize and then 2 weeks later to prune. They were happy to schedule the work when I was home or not. I chose not to be home. They pruned away quite a bit - the tree looks much better - I can't wait to see it next Spring when the leaves come out. I did not get estimates from other companies, so I'm not sure how the cost compares.
Description of Work: Fertilized and pruned large Japanese maple. Fertilization $95; pruning $175.
