After flooding in our basement ruined a wall-to-wall carpet, we went looking for alternative flooring. Not that many places carried FiberFloor, but Dealer's Carpet did (also called Abbey Carpet & Floor). We arrived right when the store was closing, but the man working, Craig, let us come in and browse without feeling rushed. We found a style we liked and arranged for Craig to come out two days later to measure for an estimate. The price was right and we wanted to go ahead with the work. Oddly, I had to ask for a written estimate. That they were willing to get started without anything in writing was a little bit worrying. The first estimate he faxed me didn't include the extras we'd agreed on - removing the old carpet tacks and putting up new baseboards - so I had to request that Craig add that on and fax again. The work was scheduled and performed on time. It was a one-man team for the installation and he did a superb job. He was very thorough. The final floor looked fantastic and the place was tidy and clean. We'd paid half at the start. Settling up the final bill was handled over the phone, and a week later I have yet to receive any paperwork showing we're paid in full. I suspect I'll have to call and request that if I want it for my records. That would be my one complaint about dealing with the company: they seem very informal regarding paperwork. It's only smart to get everything in writing so that both sides know what is expected, and I was surprised I had to ask for that. Overall we had a very good experience with the company, love the final product and would certainly use them again or recommend them.

We needed advice on what carpet to buy as we have two kids and a dog and were worried about staining and durability. But we also wanted something soft, not commercial. Mr. Power suggested a multicolored carpet that would not show dirt and hide stains. The install was also tricky because it included a railing and staircase to the basement. The installers came when they said they would and really did a great job. I would definitely use them again and would recommend them to anyone.
