Admittedly not a very complicated job, but Jeff was on time, worked quickly, and was very personable. Three thumbs up! Also when I was very pleased to be given an (accurate!) quote without even having to ask for it. I'll definitely call Philip's first for the next electrical job.

Philip came exactly when he said he would, it cost exactly what he said it would, and he fixed everything. He was polite and very easy to deal with. He and his assistant immediately got to work and fixed the doorbell within seconds, it seemed, and the overhead light took a few minutes. I was very pleased with him and his work. I called him initially on a Tuesday, he answered right away and said he'd be able to come on Friday and he'd call Thursday afternoon with a time. He called on Thursday afternoon and came the next morning exactly on time.

Philip was terrific to work with We had recently bought a 90 year old house and knew that the electrical would be a challenge. Philip was prompt and responsive in all of his dealings with us. He was very patient in explaining what we would likely find before the work began as well as the options for dealing with old wiring He was great at providing estimates that were very accurate, he always showed up on time, his crew always cleaned up after every job big or small and his advice was priceless. The work was done onetime, on budget and with a smile. We will be working with Philip for years to come. We have already recommended him highly to neighbors and friends.

My jobs didn't require a lot of in depth work, but I HIGHLY recommend this electrician. He was honest, straightforward, and personable. I enjoyed the hour he spent working in my house. I had two easy jobs: replace a light switch and replace a pendant light. He did the switch in no time. Then he worked on the pendant. He and his asst. were careful with moving my furniture (which I really appreciated!), and they were meticulous in hanging my pendant. In fact, though I am picky about things, it turns out Phllip is even pickier--he wanted to get it to hang just right, even though the product I bought must've had a slight defect and didn't want to hang straight. Philip also gave me advice on the other lighting project I want done: changing a recessed light to a pendant and putting that light on its own switch rather than with the other recessed lights. This one will be a bigger job, and given the by-the-hour cost, I had to wait to save a bit for this project. Philip let me know what it would take while he was doing the other jobs, and even told me he thought the light I chose was too big (it is huge!) but then acknowledged that he could see it working in the space. I appreciated his candor and his willingness to work with me. In short, this is an excellent electrician to work with. The price is higher than others (though you get two guys for the quoted hour prices), but the quality of the work and the service is excellent.

It can be stressful using a contractor that has not been referred by a friend or family member. I went on Angie's list and located Philip for services at my elderly parents home. He was prompt returning my call and we scheduled a date for service after the Thanksgiving week. The job went flawlessly. He was prompt, efficient and a true gentleman. He is a pleasure to speak with and work with. I am also self-employed so look for proper behavior when dealing with your clients/customers. He conducted himself like a true professional. I highly recommend hiring Philip for your electrical needs. We will surely be calling him again when the need arises. Thank you Philip for an excellent experience.

We called a number of electricians early on a Monday morning--three rooms in our home had no power and after trying to troubleshoot the problem ourselves, we decided to call in some extra help. Philip's Electric actually answered their phones and said they would be able to squeeze us in that afternoon. They called back two hours later to say they could even come earlier. It turned out the problem was really easy to fix, but Philip explained it to me in detail and never made me feel stupid for not being able to fix it ourselves. Additionally, they took some steps to prevent the outage from happening again.

aa The provider called back promptly. He was pleasant, direct, and forthcoming with my questions. He gave a verbal estimate by the hour which I knew was in line with most quality electricians. I did respond positively but later realized I had made a mistake so I called him back to say that I had to cancel. He was understanding with this change. The work required was what they call a small job. I asked for a replacement of a 2 bulb sensor security light which provides an instant flood light splash over the driveway when any moving object enters the driveway or along the front sidewalk. Secondly, I have a timer switch which is set for evening light to cascade over the patio area behind the house providing security at night This also needed to be replaced. Although I did not use his services; I would recommend anyone who has a similar small request to call him first.

As I've come to expect when working with Philip, everything went smoothly. When he came over to do the estimate, he was very good about explaining the issues involved in the upgrade and offered better solutions than his competitors.He also noticed some important issues that his competitors either missed or didn't provide great solutions for. Part of the job would be made easier and more aesthetically pleasing if one of my front bushes could be removed. Philip offered to stop by one morning and take the bush out. He did so, and left it all nicely bundled off to the side of my house so we could dispose of it later. The job took place over two days. The first was just a few hours to prep the space for the real work that would be done the next day. Performing the service upgrade took up most of the next day, but they started early at 7:30, and were out before my wife got home from work. I've hired Philip for a number of jobs in the past, but this was certainly the biggest and I'm just as pleased as always with his work. He's friendly, he's professional and he'll take the time to explain what he's doing at each step if you're curious enough to ask. What I like about Philip is that he won't nickel and dime you, he took out the bush at no extra charge. Just considered it part of the job . He's not the cheapest, but he's a great value and he's a pleasure to work with. Highly Recommended, would definitely hire again.

I called them in the morning since the electric to half of our house wasn't working, they were incredibly responsive and came within hours. Fixed the problem quickly and professionally. Would definitely use again.

Contacted Philip a couple of weeks ago about doing some work for a home that we purchased before we moved in. Scheduled an appointment for the day after closing so that he could come by and take a look at the state of the wiring, etc. Called to follow up on the appointment and he was very gruff - said he had no record of the appointment and didn't know who we were and wasn't available to take on any new jobs until next month. Mentioned that we had spoken by phone earlier and he said that he gets hundreds of calls per week and couldn't remember any particular call. Anyway, doesn't seem particularly organized. Not sure about the price or quality of his work, but this is the kind of unreliability that I dread in a contractor, so I recommend staying away.

I had them come and look at something on a short notice. It turned out to be not an issue but they were courteous, professional and on time. They charged me their standard for coming out on a call. I was having trouble getting the lights on in one or two places and then our electricty was working. It turned out that it was a simple matter of resetting the switches. Before coming, they had made it clear that they would charge me for one hour when they come and that was what they did but they were more than happy to use the hour to look at any other issues that I may have. I also know that their price is on the high end.

Philip's Electric was professional and personable. He was able to schedule an appointment within a few days of my initial phone call. The job was done exactly as requested, quickly and reasonably priced. Highly recommended. Will definitely use again for any electrical needs in the future.

I had some wired smoke detectors that have been acting up. Philip came out, discussed the problem with me and addressed the likely issue. He was very courteous and helpful and explained all my options for any future issues.

Evyerthing went will with the work he did. He was punctual and professional. The only little thing I would mention was the fact that he was not always prompt to call me back. He went above and beyond researching some things I was interested in.

They were prompt, professional and did a great job. They were more expensive than other options, I am happy to pay a small premium for higher level of service. Pricing was discussed upfront before the appoint, and that was the actual price charged.

One word = fantastic! I chose Philip's Electric because of his great reviews on Angie's list. I respect contractors who follow up and call / email you back! He showed up on time / performed the work in an efficient manner / had great ideas for lighting / was flexible with scheduling and his pricing was on par with other electricians. I do numerous home renovations myself and find it difficult to find honest/trustworthy contractors, but Philip is certainly one of them - I will certainly use him in the future!

Overall, OUTSTANDING! I've worked with many contractors over the years (my home is 90+ years old) and there are a few that stand out and that I would use again. Philip is one vendor that I will call again if I have any electrical needs in my home. He was professional, on-time, efficient and cleaned up after the work. I highly recommend that you work with Philip.

I moved into a condo a few months ago and one of my smoke detectors started chirping. I called 2 electricians to come and look at it and also give me an estimate on installing 4 ceiling fans. I called Philip and didn't leave a message, when he didn't answer. He called me back within 5 minutes. I never did hear back from the other electrician. Philip worked with me to come at a time that was convenient for me. On the first visit, he replaced the batteries in all my smoke and CO detectors and advised me that they were nearing the end of their life and might need to be replaced soon. He gave me an estimate on installing 4 ceiling fans and advised me exactly what size and type I would need for each area. A few days after he left, my smoke and CO detectors did signal that they were failing, so I called Philip and arranged for him to replace them when he came to install the ceiling fans. On the day of the installation, he and his associate came on time and did all the work very professionally and efficiently. They were able to complete all the work in less than a day. As he did the installations, Philip made sure that I was happy with each fan and knew how to operate it. They even took all the trash out to the dumpster for me. I did not buy a light for one of the fans, which I decided really needed one. I had to special order it and Philip volunteered to come back and install it, without charging me, when I got it. I love all my fans and was very happy with all the work!

Philip and Jeff were extremely efficient and knowledgeable and also personable and caring about my preferences and requests. I will use Philip's services again any time I have an electric service need. Highly recommend!

This is the second time we've hired Philip. Both times we've been very pleased with all aspects of the job. I had a brief phone conversation with Philip on a Thursday and he was at my house Tuesday morning at 8am just as promised. He and his coworker were both friendly and polite. They worked quickly and with little disruption to my morning. They left the place clean and put everything back were it had started. When they were gone there was no sign that they'd ever been here. I was able to get some estimates for future work that I'll need done, which I thought were well explained and well within what I'd expect to pay. I am very pleased with their work and I'll be hiring them for all my future electrical needs.

I had placed several calls to different electricians but Philip was the only one who responded and he responded that same evening. I needed to get the knob and tube wiring inspected in the attic before MassSave could process my contract to get the attic insulated. It was important that I got someone to look at it right away to move this process along. Philip was able to schedule me in within a few days. He arrived promptly with someone else and they checked the wiring, completed the necessary forms and installed occupancy sensors for me. The whole process went smoothly aside from the fact that several sensors blew out on us. The price would have been reasonable but it was fairly expensive given that I just needed the wiring inspected which took less than 20 minutes. Philip was very personable and professional. I would definitely hire him again.

Service was rapid and professional. I had asked him to come to set up the garbage disposal switch, without mentioning the outlets, and he found time to look at the outlets and fix them while his helper did the switch.

Philip did excellent work in a timely fashion. His price was comptitive, although not low. Electrical work carries a lot of responsibility and I would have expected to pay what I did for the kind of job Philip did. It is a complicated old house and he gave me good advice on the job to be done. It involved a certficaton that the house does not have knob and tube wiring as well as the rewiring work we wanted to have one.

Philip was responsive about the estimate and accommodating of my particular timeframe. The upgrades were performed in a timely manner, and he made some additional suggestions for work that we might consider doing while he was already performing electrical activity.
