They will not come to my home to take a look at the job. The just gave me an hourly rate and said it would be a 2 person job.

Perfect. Response time was faster than 911, even though it was not an emergency. I don't expect that in the future but it was awesome today. Phillip on the phone and Jeff on the job. Both reassuring. Both knowledgeable. Friendly and "can do" attitude.

Phil was very responsive. He called me back right away. However when I asked about his rates he said he charges 180 dollars an hr for him and his apprentice I gasped . My usual electrician charges 75 dollars an hr for a licensed journeyman . In my opinion, Phil is way too expensive so I ended up using someone else for the job.

The electrician my condo association usually uses was unavailable and I needed a project done ASAP so my contractors could keep working. I found Philip through Angie's List and I'm glad I did. They set up tarps everywhere and worked very cleanly, which can be hard with old plaster. They were able to snake some wires without cutting holes which was a bonus, and Philip was careful to explain, for example, why when he cut the hole one place he made the hole go all the way to the corner because the old lath in that spot wasn't supported and it would eventually buckle. He discovered live knob-and-tube in the wall, which then required an inspection of the whole house (including our neighbor's unit since it's all on one meter. Thankfully, it was only the adjacent rooms and we'll be tackling that project when we remodel the kitchen soon. Philip is definitely not the cheapest electrician I've used but he does great, clean work and really seems to enjoy it, which is the polar opposite of my previous, cheaper electrician. I have a little trouble with my 'price' rating because I wish it hadn't cost quite so much, but he also did a really great job and I respect that that comes with a steeper price tag. I guess what you really need to know is despite the cost, I intend to call Philip for all my electrical needs from now on.

Philip Mendonca picked up the phone at once when I called and arranged to do the work the next day. He and his helper Jeff arrived on time and worked diligently. The new fan/light fixture (which I provided) was not exactly the same size as the old and the old fan housing didn't fit. It had to be removed and the new fan housing put in. A new hose was needed for the installation and Philip and Jeff had to go to Home Depot and get it. After putting in the new fixture, Philip asked if I needed anything else and then fixed the floor lamp and replaced the light bulb in another ceiling fixture. We were happy with Philip and Jeff?s work and especially appreciated the fact that they came the day after I called them.

I bough a coupon for 2 guys 2 hours. They finished early, yet did not give me a credit for the time saved. They knew what they were doing and did the job well.

The work went very well. Philip Mendoca is very professional, responsive and punctual. The work took longer than he expected because the wiring in our era 1917 building was screwed up, but he managed to finish the work under budget with very little disruption to the building's occupants. I have no idea what other electricians would charge for the job. It was expensive for us, but maybe that's the going price. Take my B rating for price with a grain of salt.

Amazing. They were efficient, kind and knowledgeable. He helped me come up with a plan. I trusted them in my house while I was not home. After the project, the space they worked on was cleaner than when they arrived. The job was done perfectly. Phillip and his apprentice are fantastic to work with and I strongly recommend them!

I found Phil via this list and liked the reviews. My issue was that there was no power in both bathrooms' outlets. He explained to me how the ground is done, that they may have the same ground/neutral wiring and where to check to reset it. I did do a reset while he was on the phone and that fixed the issue. There was no cost - or no intimidating conversation at all. We will hire him for other projects.

I called for an electrical emergency - he was willing to do the work per my request but he actually took the time to explain that it wasn't as big an emergency as I needed. In doing so he saved me money and worry. I definitely recommend him for his integrity and honesty!

Philip impressed me with his prompt response, friendly personality and professional skill. He was very willing to explain to me in a professional way the problems and the how to fix them before he did any work. The light in the hallway had been looked at by 2 electricians in past years and had never been truly fixed. Philip had a good understanding of the old wiring and the old light fixture and fixed it in under an hour. I also thought his billing method was excellent. He charges a flat rate amount of just over 200 dollars for the first hour and then a lower amount for subsequent hours. He gave an accurate idea of how long the work would take and there were no surprises. Philip also emailed me a copy of my paid invoice that day. I will use Phil exclusively in the future.

I called Philip on a Thursday morning, and the job was finished the next morning. Philip was very prompt to respond to my initial phone call inquiry. He arrived for the job, at the hour we had arranged, on time and with an advance phone call. Philip and Jeff were professional, neat and courteous. Philip also examined a bathroom light that I thought had defective wiring. After examining it, he said there was nothing wrong with it, so I appreciate his honesty and integrity. Very pleasant experience.

The project went very well. Phillip was very personable and accomodating. His price was reaonable and he started and finished the work in a timely manner. He adjusted his estimate downward after completing the job because the job took less time than he orininally thought.

It went really well. They were very profesional and thorough. We plan to have them back next summer to rewire our grarage.

Philip is a master electrician who does both the estimate and the actual work himself with an apprentice (as opposed to just doing the estimate and then sending a journeyman). We thought he was straightforward, gave a high estimate but then provided services at an ultimate cost that was comparable to all our other estimates (and we got a LOT of estimates due to difficulty with scheduling). He also was very honest - we were prepared to install more LED lights but advised us to do less with our space and ceiling height. He and his apprentice were so professional throughout; they left for a short half hour lunch that was on their own time. Philip also has this amazing special tool that automatically catches all the dust that gets flown around when holes are drilled in the ceiling. Other electricians recommended not painting at the same time as electrical work for this reason, but Philip's work was so neat and clean that we actually could have scheduled painting at the same time. The final work was absolutely beautiful and professional! He's definitely our go-to electrician.

Phil and his crew did a fantastic job installing ceiling lighting in my condo. They were incredibly fast without sacrificing quality. The lighting looks beautiful and works seamlessly. They minimized the amount of notching they had to do in the walls, and patched up the notches afterwards (all I had to do was run a coat of paint over them). The price was very competitive compared with other companies I spoke with. I am so happy with the service, and will definitely be calling Phil in the future for all of my electrical needs!

Went very well. Philip and his very capable assistant Jeff were professional, knowledgeable, neat, efficient, and worked well as a team. They communicated very well and came when they said they would. They did just what we were hoping they would do!

It went great - Philip arrived Right on Time, with a helper and they moved fast to quickly diagnose the problem. A circuit breaker needed replacing. Also, in the process replaced a lamp socket, and helped diagnosed an issue with one of our pendant lights. They were very professional and quietly went about their work without any delay. Very professional, very knowledgeable and experienced and did not waste any time. They were all done and out in about 30 minutes. They were able to schedule it within a day, as I mentioned it was an urgent matter (our Fios unit was on the same circuit!!).

Philip performed several days worth of work on our 95-year-old bungalow. We needed a fixture removed that had been damaged by squirrels, as well as some new fixtures/outlets installed (interior and exterior), TV cable re-run, dimmer switches installed, recessed lighting installed, and he repaired or replaced older and poorly wired fixtures. He rewired our living/dining room when he uncovered older unsafe wiring that needed to be replaced. Also safety checked other spaces in case replacements or repairs were needed. He was punctual, hard working, knowledgable, and was sure to ask questions and to ensure our satisfaction throughout the process. We threw a few random curveballs (extra fixtures and even a small medicine cabinet) that he happily accommodated. Friendly, polite, professional and reasonably priced. We highly recommend - especially for older houses that may have years worth of secrets hiding in the walls.

Adam called to ask if he could come early. When he did arrive early, he worked quickly and cleanly. The bathroom exhaust fan could not be installed exactly as we hoped, but he talked me through the different options. Together we figured out what would work best for us. When he finished the job, Adam did an excellent job of cleaning up. You could hardly tell that work had been done. In the end, Adam finished the job more quickly and cheaply than I expected.

Work was done in a timely fashion and were neat. Nice to work with.
