Patrick Hourican Plastering

I had some recessed lights installed in an old ceiling. Some of the plaster buckled and broke off. The ceiling couldn't be patched and had to be redone. Out of 4 plaster guys I called, two called me back. One was Patrick and another was a local guy. Patrick came in with the best estimate and schedule. Because the ceiling was going to be refinished, I asked him to put up drywall on the walls, and put up a new ceiling in the hall that buckled.. His crew came on time and worked most of the day until the job was finished and were very neat. I'm very please with the job they did and will use them again.

I contacted Patrick about doing sound-proofing work on my condo ceiling. We scheduled a time for him to come over and discuss what I needed - he was able to come in the evening, after work for me, and he arrived on time. Patrick followed up in a day or two with a quote for the project. I got a few other quotes as well, and Patrick's was in the same ballpark. He was by far the most punctual of them all, however, and I got the sense that he was ready, willing and able to do the work. We set a date for the work and he arrived with his crew as scheduled, completed the work, then cleaned up and took the refuse with him. I'm happy with the work that he did and will call him again for future drywall/plastering projects.

I've had Patrick do work for me before at another house, and as always, he's a pleasure to work with! I called on Monday, he came and did the estimate on Tuesday, and the work was done in a couple of hours on Wednesday afternoon -- and it looks great! I gave them a B on professionalism because they could have left the room cleaner, but other than that, they are a straight-A outfit!

They are artists! Patrick had repaired a ceiling in my previous home before we sold it. It was such a great job I knew I'd hire him again. We bought a fixer-upper and my general contractor had his plasterer do some of the initial work. It was awful. I told the GC I wanted to use Patrick for the rest of the job. Patrick and his crew were just as I remembered from the job they did in my previous home - prompt and professional with incredible attention to detail - and they clean up everything! They are just genuinely nice guys. The finished plaster is as close to flawless as I've seen. I have a few more areas that need repair and Patrick suggested waiting until all of the other work is complete. I wholeheartedly recommend Patrick and his work.

Short story: He came to the house and gave me a quote. I hired him to come back and patch the ceiling. He blew me off and never showed. Details: I initially contacted him Feb 23rd to come out and give me quote. He came out, seemed to know his stuff and was highly rated, so I hired him to come back and do the work. Without explaining why, he was unable to schedule a date. A couple weeks passed, so I called to follow-up. I asked if he could do it some time around March 11 and he vaguely committed, later saying he could do "that weekend"... eventually telling me he could do Sunday. I was taken aback about it being on a Sunday (I didn't realize contractors worked Sundays; it wasn't a good time for me). I said Sunday would be ok IF it was _after 12_. He called me that Saturday evening to tell me he was coming at *10am* the next day, Sunday. I reminded him that before noon was a problem. (At this point, if he'd told me that it was Sunday morning OR NOT AT ALL, I might've found a way to make it work, but this was NOT communicated to me.) He told me he'd call again to arrange something. I NEVER HEARD FROM HIM AGAIN. I think I followed up once or twice after that, but by late April (2 MONTHS after initial contact)I knew I had to find another person since I was apparently never going to hear from him. (It's now mid-May and never heard...) if he didn't want the job, he should've just said so. But to agree to do it and then not make a serious effort to come out and do it, I felt it was extremely unprofessional. I was so disappointed considering how highly rated he was.

Arranged a time for a Patrick to come and give an estimate for a small job. I specified the job was not urgent and we could work around his schedule. He said he would call the day of the appt. to tell me what time he would arrive. He never called that day and never called to resechedule. I had taken the day off to get estimates for this job and two others. Do not appreciate the lack of interest. It would have been reasonable to tell me he was not interested in the job because it was too small.

They were prompt, professional, competitively priced and did very good work.

Overall, Patrick and his team did a great job. It was a bit difficult to get Patrick on the phone and to get an estimate, but he was extremely busy the week we were in contact. Once he set a date to do the work, he and his guys arrived right on time. They completed the work in a professional manner, stayed on budget, and finished in the estimated time as well. The price was not the cheapest out there, but it reflects the quality work these guys performed. We were very happy with the work and would definitely hire Patrick again.

We have been remodeling our two-family home, and Patrick Hourican and his crew have been here twice. We couldn't be happier with the results. We're relatively new to remodeling and knew that plastering was something we wanted to get done right by not doing it ourselves, and thank goodness because we could never have done as beautiful a job as they did. Patrick answered each message we left in a very timely manner. He is very responsive, easy to get a hold of, and the work his crew turns out is fantastic. The first time we hired them, I was concerned that we could not get the plastering done in time since we only had two weeks, but Patrick said "I won't let you down!" and he didn't. His crew was in and working in less than a week and finished in two days. The crew was polite and hard-working and did a fantastic job. We were most impressed with the kitchen ceiling work: we had knocked down a wall between a kitchen and porch to make one large kitchen and they matched the ceilings perfectly, which is quite a feat with a 160-year-old house. We also took out some doors and widened others, and the transitions are seamless. They also filled holes made from the blown-in insulation process. We definitely plan on having them over again when we begin working on the top floor. Very highly recommended!

I was here most of the day. They did the work downstairs. The celiing needed a new ceiling and they did a small spot in my living room. I had scheduled this two weeks ahead of time and I was going to be home the day they were coming and they called me and said they wouldn't be there until 11. They didn't actually arrive until 1:30. When I got home, there was water all over the floors.

The workmen were sent out quite quickly. They even completed smaller items without charging me. The job was supposed to take 3 hours, but needed up taking 2! They area looks just beautiful and I appreciated them being cleanly!

Patrick was able to schedule our work promptly and on the work day, he arrived with a two man crew at 7am. He supervised the set up and then came back periodically to monitor progress and bring the guys drinks and snacks! They worked quickly and methodically, did an awesome job with sealing off the dining room, as well as protecting the walkway between the room and the workspace they had set up outside. They were done and all cleaned up - inside and out - in about 5 hours. The plaster is beautiful. Patrick came by to check the work and recommended we keep the heat down to avoid cracking due to the the plaster drying too quickly. We turned the thermostat down, but one section did develop a crack - I called Patrick and he was there the next day to fill and smooth it. The ceiling is stunning - smooth as a baby's bottom! I was really impressed with how focused and professional the crew was and with how well they contained the mess. My only regret is that I didn't have it done sooner so I could have really enjoyed it. I will absolutely be calling Patrick for work in my next home.

Excellent. They arrived promptly and hung all the blueboard. IT was tough getting in back of the knee walls. It was all skim coat, and it looks great! Some real hard areas of a closet too. They were in and out in 2.5 days. Good cleanup. Will use again.

He had crew of two people. I thought he was excellent. They were very nice it was a good experience. I called him and he got back to me right away and he did tell me he was going to start a certain day and he had a backup so he said he would be there the next day and he was. They told me how long it would be and he completed the work when he said he would. I was very happy with the work. They did a good job. He was very prompt and returned my calls quickly. I would definitely use him again. A family member of mine agreed that it was very well done. He was a really nice man and I would refer him to my friends. I didn't have any problems at all.

It was straight plastering. They did the work quickly and efficiently. They did a great job. They were also very reasonably priced. We were very pleased with their work.

My husband and I ripped down the walls, ceiling, floor and windows on our 3 season porch, and installed new windows, electric, and insulation. We only needed someone to plaster or drywall the walls. Patrick was extremely responsive, returned our calls immediately, came to see the room and called with a quote the same day. We were in no rush, so we told him to come by when he had time. He called on a Saturday and said he would arrive on Monday at 7:00 AM. He was there at 7:05 and the room was completed and he was gone before my husband arrived home from work at 4:00 PM. He left a clean workspace with no garbage and did a fantastic job on the plaster. A great deal for the price and we would absolutely use him again.

We had a leak from the second floor apartment to the first floor. The leak was from the tub on the second floor and damaged the ceiling and wall of the bathroom on the first floor. The wall was the original lath and plaster and the ceiling was sheetrock. Patrick's crew showed up on time and completed the work in about 2 hours. They removed all the damaged material and refinished the ceiling and wall. It looks as if nothing ever happened. It is an excellent job. I had a very important Doctor's appointment and could not be here to watch the project, but my tenant was at home on the first floor and was very impressed by how clean and professional the crew was. I would use them again in a heartbeat.
