Patrick Hourican Plastering

Patrick was very responsive and was over within two days of my call and had an estimate to me within another day. Upon approval they were at my house within a week, since it was a relatively small job(1/2 day). They protected all areas with plastic and floor covering and worked quickly and competently. There was one small area they missed, but quickly took care of it. With the sanding, they kept all of the dust contained and the areas required only minimal clean-up after they removed all the plastic and floor coverings and left.

I called for estimate. Patrick called few hours later saying he may come tonight but if not tomorrow morning and he would call me. My husband waited around at my request and no call. Worst thing to do is blow off a potential client. A phone call is not too much to ask.

Patrick promptly returned my initial phone call; came to give estimate at the agreed upon time; when a cancellation opened up an earlier date than we had discussed he called to see if it would be convenient for me to have the work done; it was; his men arrived at the agreed upon time and did a first-rate job prompty and professionally; they cleaned up and removed all debris and even cleaned the floor. Patrick was a pleasure to work with and I would recommend him - and his crew - enthusiastically.

I just wanted to let others out there who are looking to have some plastering work done that Patrick is the one you want. I had a small patch job to fix a hole in the ceiling after we had some plumbing work done. His callback was prompt and he was able to give em a quote over the phone. We scheduled a start time for 7:45am and he showed up at 7:45am. Assessed the job and said it would take him about 2 hours to complete. Two hours later, he was done. He had packed up his tools and was on his way. He did an excellent job, he put down drop cloths and covered the furniture. He also did a great job cleaning up when he was done. His price was very fair and I will call him again if I ever need any plastering work done again.

Very punctual, very professional. Patrick and his crew are amazingly efficient and organized. Great communicator to coordinate and confirm plans. Courteous and friendly. Final work product is excellent. Highly recommend.

We live in a triple decker building, and the pipe from the roof drain, which ran the entire height of the building from roof to basement floor, had basically started disintegrated and was leaking on our bathroom ceiling, among other places. We had plumbers come and remove the old cast iron pipe and replace it with a PVC pipe, but the process of doing this meant making large openings (about 4 feet tall and 2 1/2 feet wide) in the walls of the top floor bathroom, the second floor closet, and our first floor bathroom, plus two additional openings in the ceilings on the top floor and in the basement. Given that ours is an older building that had been renovated, most of these holes were cut into drywall, but a couple were plaster, so we needed someone with expertise in repairing both. I found Patrick on Angie's List, but it also turned out my office mate had used his company for a substantial amount of work in her old house and her new one, and she spoke very highly of his work and professionalism. Patrick came right on time to review the repair work, and was prompt in getting me an estimate. Once we scheduled the work, his team -- who were extremely polite and friendly -- arrived exactly on time and made short work of all of the repairs. My wife and I couldn't believe how quickly it was completed -- on top of that, all of the spaces where repairs had been done were basically spotless when they left. Our bathroom also had a hole in the ceiling, which was textured, and they did a fabulous job of blending the new material with the old. In every respect the work was done perfectly, quickly, and with virtually no linger mess afterwards. All that was left for us to do was paint, and once that was completed no one would be able to tell that anything had happened. It was simply marvelous work. Afterwards, I made a mistake in the billing, and my wife left a message for Patrick with some questions. He got back to us immediately, and left multiple messages for both me and my wife to clear up the confusion. He was incredibly gracious about what was completely my mistake and made a great effort to ensure that we were happy with the work. I would recommend him most highly to anyone in need of plastering and/or drywall work.

I started to prep to paint a room in my apartment and realized pretty quickly that there was some serious plaster/water damage issues around the window. A friend recommended Patrick. He returned my call quickly, worked with my schedule to come give an estimate, and was able to schedule one of his guys to come do the work over the weekend. This was particularly great since I travel for work a lot and my schedule is difficult. I am no expert but the wall looks great and I am relieved to have the cracks repaired. It should make painting so much easier. Also, I am pretty sure they left the room cleaner than they found it!

Pat and his crew did a great job with all the projects. They were fast and efficient and cleaned the mess up perfectly. They also added the kitchen ceiling repair and patching when they were there although it was not scheduled. Pat is professional and polite and charmed my tenants. I had them replace a bedroom ceiling last winter but never got to do a review...on that job they fit us in even though they were busy because it was an emergency. They did a fantastic job that time too. I would highly recommend them and plan to use them many times...as this is an old house and there will be a lot more work to do on it.

Patrick, as well as his crew, was pleasant, professional, prompt, punctual and priced right. (Sorry about all the "P" s). He came right away and looked at the job and gave us a written estimate. He started as soon as we were ready and finished up in one day. He cleaned up well and was careful with our things. The ceiling looks great! I would definitely use him again and would recommend him to friends and family.

Patrick was very professional and did a great job. He came in the morning to get his guys started and then came back at the end to inspect their work (not that they needed it!). He was a pleasure to deal with, his team was quick, worked clean, and did a phenomenal job of replacing the ceiling of our master bedroom with new blueboard and plaster. The transition to the existing walls was pretty much seamless, and they were able to accurately cut the holes for our recessed lights with no trouble. Great job!

Patrick is a gem! When I was coordinating vendors to look at our condo and give estimates prior to closing; Patrick was very accommodating. He told me to let him know when everyone else could be there and he'd make it work. I wish everyone was as easy going!Patrick send over 2 guys to do the job. They arrived earlier than expected, but I was home so it was not a big deal. I was just happy that the work was going to get done. They arrived at 11am and had everything cleaned up by 1pm. The walls look great! On a side note, I had taken down some mirrors in our dining area. Upon doing so, it damaged the walls. I asked one of the guys what I could do to fix it. He kindly fixed the wall for me. I was so surprised and happy that he did this for me!!! Saves me the time to do it myself. I highly recommend Patrick and his team!!

The work was done quickly and in exemplary fashion, with an attractive result. Though some scuffing of the walls near the ceiling is inevitable with this sort of work, extra care was taken, given the fact that we're all moved in at this point and he had to work around our stuff to some degree. After the cleanup, I decided I didn't need to repaint the walls at all.

I called Patrick to get a quote on this job on a Monday. He came over to the house to look at the job that Thursday morning and gave me a quote by that afternoon. I was getting my floors done the following Monday, so Patrick went out of his way to send a guy over to do the job that Sunday morning (6 days from request to completion) - and the job he did was fantastic. I would strongly recommend Patrick Hourican Plastering due to their reasonable prices, attentiveness to customers, quick response, and their quality of work. The experience I had with this company was outstanding.

I hope I have enough space to tell you about how good Patrick Hourican and his employees are. For starters, he is incredibly responsive. Not only did he respond to my inquiry right away, but he came right over to check on the problem that was caused by an incompetent plasterer (working on that review). Mr. Hourican assessed the situation and knew he could help. The NEXT day - a Sunday no less--he had a wonderful young man who came and skimmed over my wall. In spite of what they had to work with, I am so much happier. Mr. Hourican even returned when I was uncertain about whether or not we should do more and reassured me that he would do what had to be done to make me happy. That has made me happy! Highly recommend this excellent business whose motto is "no job is too big or too small". I had a small job that was a big headache for me, and I truly appreciate the caring and attention of Hourican Plastering. I will be calling them again and referring them to everyone.

Patrick responded back the same day to my phone call for an estimate. We arranged a date and time to meet, he was punctual. He provided an estimate which was in the middle of three others received. I hired him on the phone, he didn't require a deposit and gave me an install date about 7 days out. On the agreed date he showed up on time and finished the job the same day which involve hanging the blue board sheets and plastering for a 250 square foot room walls and bulk heads only.

They were very professional.They cleaned and mopped the floor, cleaned all the way down the stairs. You would not know they were in the house after they left.

Super nice guy. Came out within hours of our phone call to look at the work that we had. Felt that our job would be better suited for someone else that he recommends and he gave us their information.

He did a very nice job. His prices are fair. He came right away, and was very neat and clean.

They came and put down paper as not to track paster. They worked very fast and completed the job beautifully. They left the basement very clean and removed all waste.

Painless - they came, they saw, they repaired, they left.

I am very pleased with the quality of the work and Patrick was great to deal with. His crew was excellent also. They showed up on time, worked hard, did excellent work, and were polite and pleasant to deal with. Partick was there to get them started and checked in a couple of times - though his crew had things well in hand and didn't seem to really need any supervision. They also covered floors and walls well and cleaned up nicely. Don't know what more I could have asked for. When the painter I am going to use saw the plastering work he complimented it (and he didn't have to, since I did not use the person he usually suggests). Patrick's price was in the middle of the three estimates I got. I gave a B rating on price only because his was not the lowest quote, but I think I got good value for the money and would not hesitate to use him again.

We had a number of contractors provide estimates for blue board and plastering of our family. It's a fairly large room with cathedral ceilings. Patrick was generally responsive and provided a reasonable quote for the job. We gave him the job based on his responsiveness and the reviews from Angie's List. Two different crews came to do the job: the first crew came and hung the blue board, the second crew did the plastering. Both crews did a great job. However, I did have a couple of small complaints: - We had a couple of small areas that were already plastered and were not being redone. They did not completely protect those areas during the job. There are splatter marks on those walls that will need to be cleaned up. Also, not all of the stables they used to attach the poly (for protection) were not removed after the job. - I had to replace the telephone jack they removed since the internal screws were lost when they were removed. Overall they did a great job and I would use them again.

I had nothing but a A1 experience with Mr. Houricon. He did exactly what he said he would, he did it on time as promised. The workmanship was excellent. I've since painted all of the ceilings and you can't tell they were patched or replaced. They said they'd be here at 7 AM and they were knocking on the door when the clock struck 7. Great work. I would use them again in a heartbeat. The best thing was their price was $1900. lower than one of the estimates I got from another Angies list contractor.
