Patrick Hourican Plastering

They did an amazing job blending textured "popcorn" ceiling patch in with rest of ceiling! Fast work and cleaned up when they left.

He did a great job. He came in at eh quote at the end of the job. He called me back and did the job when he said he would. I have never done plastering before so I don’t know if it is expensive but it seems reasonable.

This is the second job that Patrick and his crew have done for me. Just like the first time they did an absolutely beautiful job at a fair price. They also left the house spotless when they left.

When I called, Patrick came to give us a written estimate within a few days. He was neat, clean, and personable. His estimate was in the middle (cost) of the estimates I had received from 5 different companies and I selected Patrick partly from his ratings on Angie's list and partly from how clearly he explained what he would do and how he would do it. He did a great job - on time, very neat (and plastering is messy work!), and cleaned up thoroughly when he was finished. I recommend him highly! We had used a different plasterer a year ago for a much smaller job and, by comparison to Patrick, he was awful, so I have a recent point of reference.

Patrick came out to review the job - a 1970's swirled, sparkly ceiling that was sagging quite a bit. Patrick diagnosed it as a structural issue and recommended I have the ceiling removed. He recommended someone (Jim Sacca - who was terrific) and once exposed, it was clear that the attic rafters were undersized and buckling in my old house and the whole support structure had to be rebuilt. He recommended someone (Paul O'Riordan - who was also terrific) who rebuilt the rafters to support the new ceiling. Paul and one of his guys came out the next day (on a Sunday!) and put up sheetrock and then applied plaster to provide a beautiful finished ceiling. I couldn't be happier with the service or the results. I'd recommend Patrick (and the other guys) in a heartbeat.

Patrick Hourican repaired half of our living room ceiling. The work he did was excellent, seamlessly matching with the existing portion and the eighty year old crown/dentil molding detail in the room. He was prompt, the work area was always neat with no impact on the surrounding rooms and the finished product perfect. Patrick is also a very pleasant person to work with, so I highly recommend giving him a call.

I called for an estimate, and unfortunately they were too busy with their other jobs. However, they were nice enough to call me back and let me know so I could move forward with other contractors. This was very nice of them. Most of the other plasterers I've dealt with are very bad at returning calls.

Patrick and his team, Luciano and another worker were very professional. I called and left a voicemail. Patrick called back and said he would come by on Saturday to assess the job. This was considerate since I don?t always get home from work before 7pm Monday through Friday. He arrived Saturday, assessed the job and called on Sunday to schedule for Monday. Arrived on Monday on time and showed his team what to do. They worked straight through. All was done in 2 hours. I couldn't be happier with the results. I definitely would recommend this Company.

I called Patrick to come give an estimate on a ceiling repair. He called back, came by, and said he'd call back with an estimate. He seemed professional and courteous. But a week went by with no call. Over the next few days, I left three messages and tried both of his listed phones. It's been two weeks and still no response or estimate.

Patrick responded promptly to our inquiry. He came to view the 2 separate areas needing repair. Because of the possibility of melt water in the garage again reaching the wall, he suggested cement board for that repair. Patrick and his crew were on time and courteous. The large bedroom repair is smooth and seamless with the undamaged wall. Likewise, for the even larger wall replacement in the garage. All waste was removed and the areas left very clean. Patrick and his crew were very professional and provided high quality patching, repair, and plastering.

Patrick and his crew were terrific. They were punctual, thorough and did an incredible job on some not so easy sloped ceilings. We will be asking him to come back and do our basement ceilings as well.

I opted for #2. They put up sheet rock over entire ceiling and skim coated it with plaster. They moved all furniture for me, protected all carpets and were very efficient. I have other ceilings in need of repair and I will definitely use them again.

I've used Patrick Hourican plastering for years. Over the years, he has probably done every room in our house. Patrick and his crew were great. They came in and completed the work in one day. I had 4 new ceilings put in: bedroom, living room, small hallway and a small playroom. The living room had beamed ceilings, which was an additional complication. Prior to scheduling a date, Patrick came over and gave an estimate, and recommended I get a carpenter to remove the moulding around one of the ceilings...however, I couldn't find anyone, and he recommended a carpenter he has worked with. I called that carpenter, and he came over and recommended leaving the moulding up...if it cracked, it could not be replaced. He got in touch with Patrick and let him know. That created additional work for Patrick and his crew, but they did a great job...and I am delighted..finally, brand new ceilings with no cracks!!

The job could not have been done better, this was a 100 year old room with corners all off on angles, Patrick's team left it looking like new construction, they were done in one day. I could not recommend him more.

Part of larger contract for bathroom/closet renovation so don't know their cost. They came in to see the job -- put in new walls between bathroom and closet. Patrick determined that existing walls were in bad enough shape that he strongly recommended fixing those as well. This was agreed to. The crew was just fabulous; fast, thorough, professional, careful. They did an excellent job. The walls look terrific. We would use them again, no question about it.

At first, everything went the way it should. I called him. He called me back. We agreed to meet the next day. He stopped by the house. I though it was strange that he didn't measure anything or write anything down. He looked around. He said it would be a big job that requires blue board and plaster. Patrick said he would give me a call with and estimate and he never did. After about a week, I left him a voicemail on his cellphone to follow up and request the estimate. That was about 2 weeks ago and I still haven't heard from him. I still need to get the work done and now I have to start over with somebody else. I'm disappointed that this turned out to be a negative experience with such a highly rated person. He seemed like a nice guy.

The job went very well. We could not believe how quick it was completed. They cleaned up when finished washed the hardwood floors in each room they worked. They also recommended a carpenter to install the crown molding, he to did an awesome job.

Came in on time, promptly assessed the job. Patrick and his associate got to work quickly, and I noticed they carefully laid out plastic sheeting in a wide area to protect rug/furniture. The job was done quickly, and when he left there was no trace he was there other than my ceiling looking good as new.

I was very pleased with the entire experience. Patrick and his crew showed up when promised, did a great job, cleaned up beautifully, and were very mindful of the family pets. I would definitely hire him again.

Nothing happened, he never followed through with returning phone call to set up a date and time to at the job and give me an estimate.

I called him based on all the great reviews on Angie's List. He was very responsive, punctual, and came over right away to look at the water damaged drywall in our basement. He seemed a little disappointed that this was going to be a small job and we did not have any other plastering needs right now. He said the damage was caused by the salt, not water. I had to call the office again for an estimate which he sent in the mail. It was 3X higher than the plasterer we ended up hiring.

When I first caleld for an estimate, he was punctual and gave a prompt estimate. However, when I called him to set up an appointment to do the work, it took several phones calls and over a month before I got a response. The work itself was fine. I would have appreciated a quicker response to the phone calls.

I called Patrick and he came out to give me an estimate the next day. The price was very reasonable. He stuck around to talk through the job with me and told me about a few options to consider. When I was ready to proceed with the work I let him know and he came the next day. I was very impressed with the results! The walls came out beautifully and he and his crew left the room clean. One of the best contractor experiences I've had yet. Very clear communication and a great result. I will definitely be calling him again in the future.
