Our kitchen sink was clogged so I called Myles early that evening. He was just leaving another job and said he could be at my house at 10:00am the next morning. He arrived right on time, started immediately and worked straight through till the job was done. When he hit a snag he explained what it was and rebuilt a section of the system that was rotting out. He cleaned up when done. I thought the bill was reasonable and paid it happily. Myles has some great stories to tell about his training and the less reputable things some other plumbers are doing. He never stopped to share these, he just kept on working. Previously I had Myles install a gas water heater. All 'A's for that experience too. fyi, He had all his tools and supplies for this job in his truck.so no long trips to Ace or Home Deport.

The plumber arrived on time. He reviewed the existing conditions and advised me of the cost. With my approval, he set up his work space, laying out a protective layer on the floor and began his work. He advised me how the town in which I live would require disposal of the existing toilet. I asked if he provided this service (he did). We agreed on a disposal fee. He then continued his work with little supervision from me. Once completed, he cleaned up the work space. The job took less time than I anticipated. I liked his quality of work and work ethic. I will be asking him to install a bathroom vanity for me in the near future.
Description of Work: The plumber removed an existing toilet, repaired a cracked flange, installed a new toilet, and disposed of the old toilet.

Myles Sullivan is rude, incompetent and a liar. Mr. Sullivan took 16 hours to do a job that should have taken half that time. He wanted to be paid $80.00 per hour at the end of each day. His $80.00 per hour became an actual cost of $160.00 per hour in reality to us because of his inability or desire to perform the work efficiently. The difficulty began when he was asked if it was possible to to work on an additional project which would include installing a drain pipe from the basement to a second floor bathroom that had been gutted. He was asked if he could get to it later on the second day. He abruptly exclaimed that there was no way he could get to it within the day and that the job would take days. This was a ridiculous statement but my husband listened to him outline the time line. When Myles was done with his explanation, he rudely asked my husband what he thought was the time needed to compete both jobs. My husband thought that two days were more than enough to install a kitchen sink (rough plumbing only) and then the drain pipe for the future bathroom. Not to be connect upstairs mind you, just installed in the kitchen wall for now. When my husband finished given his view as to the necessary amount of time, Mr. Sullivan retorted, "If you don't like my work, I can just pack up right now". My husband was stunned. We had several contractors in and out of our home due to major water damage from the winter storms, and never encountered anyone so abrasive. In addition, my husband had previously renovated 18 homes in the past 25 years. He is very experienced in dealing with different contractors and the costs and time frame needed to complete a job. The worst part of our dealings with Myles was yet to come. My husband calmly stated that he did not see the need for such time, since all of the walls are open, there are no obstructions. We're talking PVC, not metal pipe, etc. The rough plumbing was completed at the end of the second day for the kitchen sink. An appt. was scheduled with the Plumbing inspector of our town for the next day. The plumbing inspector approved the rough plumbing on that day. We made a final payment to Myles with a check just after the inspector left. My husband indicated that he was not interested in scheduling any additional work until after he returned from a family funeral out of state. He made it clear that he did not feel Mr. Sullivan could do the future work needed and stay within a budget that we at set and our insurance company had estimated and paid for. As they were concluding their business, Myles told my husband that he would "hook up" the kitchen sink for $400.00 (faucet and trap), and that he warranties his work for one year. Two weeks later, the kitchen sink was attached to the drain that Myles installed, along with the water lines. When the water was turned on, a Pex clamp blew off one of the lines in the basement. The water had to be shut off and a new clamp installed. When the water was turned on again and run for a minute through the sink, water began to leak form the PVC pipe that Myles installed in the basement for the drains. A call was placed to Myles reporting the issue on that day which was a Saturday. Myles listened to my husband as he described the issue by phone in my presence. He asked Myles to either fix the problem, since he warranties his work for one year, or pay us back for the amount that it would require another plumber to fix the problem. Myles offered to come over and check out the situation on Monday. My husband asked if the same day was possible and explained his frustration. Myles said that he was on another job and agreed to stop by in one hour. About one hour later, our city police department called. My husband took the call in which he was asked if he had any recent dealings with Myles Sullivan. My husband in my presence said yes, and that we were waiting for him to come by and fix a plumbing issue, work that failed that he installed. We were told that Myles stopped at the police department on the way to our house and told the police that he had second thoughts and was concerned; that my husband had threatened him. We were floored! We spoke with an officer that Saturday and related our situation. Then again on Monday with a detective, my husband offered pictures and video of the work performed and its failure. After taking in all of the information, the detective found no basis for Mr. Sullivan's claims. He wanted no contact with us and used this unbelievable tactic to avoid performing the repairs or reimbursing us for them. Myles was told that a bad review would be posted of his work if it was not fixed. No one threatened him otherwise and the police found his statements to be absolutly false. He was told to find a way to solve the issue and not risk his reputation or standing with the licensing board. This is what the Detective told Myles and shared with my husband. The town Plumbing inspector has advised to have another plumber document the work needed, along with the cost. He and the police detective suggested that we sue Myles in small claims court for damages. This is a civil matter. We never expected to have to deal with Myles again after he left our home. We did not intend to write any reviews before the plumbing failed. We were too busy dealing with the death of a family member. We don't have time or the interest to deal with petty and unprofessional contractors. The drain pipe has to be cut out and installed with new pipe. PVC is glued together and cannot be simply screwed tighter. He glued 2 sections and did not fit them together properly. Master Plumber? Really? It would have cost over $2,100 if we had him back to install the actual sink to the rough plumbing. One sink! Pictures and video available.
Description of Work: Installed 8 feet of PVC drain pipes along with water lines for kitchen sink. Installed 8 feet of 2" vent pipe to connect with existing vent pipe.

Myles was really great. He showed up the day before and did a walk through and carefully explained exactly what he was going to do - as well as what could possibly go wrong since the house has the original plumbing from 1929. The day he did the work he was thorough, efficient, courteous and helped me with some faucet options as well. I am definitely going to use him in the future. It's hard to find a great plumber who is familiar with old houses.

Mr. Sullivan coordinated his visits with my tenant. He gave me an accurate estimate. He showed up on time and finished the work on schedule. I can't think of any way in which this job could have been done better. I recommend Mr. Sullivan. I will use him again.
Description of Work: I own a 2-family house. The building has forced hot water heating. There was a leak in one of the heating pipes in my tenant's apartment. Mr. Sulllivan fixed the leak

Myles did a great job working within my limited timeline. He stayed on budget and on schedule. Qualty of the work was outstanding. His knowledge of the necessary upgrades for our old home and piping was incredibly helpful. He worked hard to endure the project was done on time and with as little disruption to the other apartment (of our two family property) as possible.
Description of Work: We did a complete bath renovation. Upgraded old pipes and installed all new fixtures.

I have had a slow shower drain for a while now and finally it stopped working. Myles came out on short notice and snaked it out successfully, and it is now working better than ever. Myles is very professional and took care to make sure that he left everything clean. Myles has an introductory offer of $100 for household shower drains for new customers. Can definitely recommend..

He and his team (Steve, a fellow plumber, and Jeff, an electrician) came out and set up the entire system, working all day for a week or so. They were courteous, efficient, and clearly great at what they did; the basement looks fantastic, all of the piping is clearly labeled and neat, and even the inspector was impressed - he noted that even his own guys couldn't do such a complicated job on their own. Halfway through the job, my well pressure tank gave out - a slow leak ruptured into a 1.5" hole in the inlet, pouring water all over the basement floor. Myles and Steve came out on a Saturday and replaced it in a matter of hours, stepping up to a larger tank so as to reduce wear on the well pump, rerouting the piping to accommodate the new fitting location, and ensuring that the electrical wiring to the pressure sensor was properly secured to the wall. Myles is a great plumber and a wonderful guy to work with. Top marks, all around.
Description of Work: I hired Myles to come to my (new-to-me) home to replace a 30-year-old, cracked, cast-iron oil boiler with a modern high-efficiency Alpine gas boiler, indirect hot water system, and to run the associated plumbing to my kitchen and dryer.
