Maria Romano organized our project to minimize disruption to our family, completing all work on the upstairs bath and setting up a temporary kitchen in our dining room before demolishing kitchen and powder room. From kitchen demo to working new kitchen was done in 3 weeks! A friend in real estate told us he knows a lot of contractors who can do a great kitchen in 3 months, but he doesn't know any who can do it in 3 weeks. The appraiser for our subsequent mortgage re-fi told us that he was factoring the extremely high quality of the renovation work into our appraisal, as he felt it was significantly superior to the renovations he had seen in other houses in our area. We are thrilled with our transformed living space and would recommend Maria to anyone. Her bid was higher than some of the others but she provided detailed explanations for why she was recommending certain costlier materials and techniques. We felt that her professionalism and quality more than justified the cost differential. And every worker Maria brought into our home was also courteous, considerate and professional.

Maria was very responsive. The job went very smoothly.

Maria has an excellent eye for design and practicality. Things we thought were impossible or hadn't considered were "no problem." Our options in one bathroom were extremely limited by the location of a door, so she moved the door by about 6" while relocating a period cabinet. The change allowed a complete reorientation of the room with much greater functionality and appeal. Her subcontractors are very talented and reliable. The work area was always clean and orderly, and she kept the rest of the house clean as well. Her price was in the middle of several bids, and her design insights and follow through were worth the difference.

Maria and her team of subcontractors completed both kitchens and baths in about 6 weeks. She was very professional in her estimates and gave me a thorough price which included all of the costs from her plumber, electrician, tile worker and others. She worked well with the city building department. The actual work was done very well and she has been very responsive to changes along the way and VERY responsive to the few concerns that I have had since she and her team completed the work.

Marie came to my house twice to gather information for an estimate -- once alone, once with her plumber and carpenter (and the latter meeting had to be rescheduled at least once). But despite my repeated requests, she never provided that estimate. She just stopped returning calls. She seemed nice enough, but working with her in even a limited capacity involved a significant investment of my time (scheduling 3 meetings) with absolutely no return.

MARIA ROMANO IS AN EXCELLENT GENERAL CONTRACTOR. SHE IS VERY TRUSTWORTHY, AND HAD A KEY TO OUR HOUSE FOR THE PROJECT. SHE IS VERY RESPONSIBLE, AND TAKES PRIDE IN THE QUALITY OF HER WORK. HER PRICES ARE VERY FAIR, AND SHE IS SENSITIVE TO BUDGET ISSUES. SHE WORKS WITH A SMALL GROUP OF SUBCONTRACTORS WHO ALL SHOW UP WHEN SHE SAYS THEY WILL! WE ARE THRILLED WITH OUR NEW KITCHEN. TWO FRIENDS ALSO USED HER WITH SAME EXCELLENT RESULTS. SHE IS VERY OPINIONATED. WE TOOK HER ADVICE ON SOME MATTERS, BUT NOT ON SOME OF THE DESIGN MATERIALS (I.E. WE DID NOT WANT HARDWOOD FLOOR IN KITCHEN).
