Great experience all around. We had two two toilets replaced through Jim's special deals. Jim provided advice on the toilets we got, communicated throughout the process leading up to the installations, was prompt, and was thorough in the job -- in short everything we could have asked for. I definitely would use him again and highly recommend him to anyone looking for a reliable, thorough, and reasonably priced plumber.

Jim and his assistant were very responsible and efficient! They hauled away the old water heater, responded quickly to my Angie's List messages, and were neat and pleasant.

We have been using his services for a few years. I continue to use him because he is local and I wanted to have someone who is close by. He completed the work at a reasonable cost. He was able to come right out to complete the work. We thought that it would be a large job where the faucet needed to be replaced, but he was able to repair them instead and save us on costs. Everything worked out fine and we are happy with the work.

I called Jim yesterday, and he showed up bright and early today -- right in the window where he promised. He and his nephew dealt with really inconvenient access conditions and did what I needed quickly, efficiently, and neatly with a good sense of humor. I would definitely bring them back in for other plumbing work.

It went perfectly! Jim arrived promptly, listened to my description of the problem we had and determined its cause. He shut off the water to the bathroom, then opened up the shower stall faucet handle -- and the old flow regulator fell out in pieces. He took a few pieces with him to Home Depot, bought replacements, returned, replaced the regulator, re-secured & recaulked the handle in place and instructed us to wait 24 hours before using the shower again. Problem solved!

We have been having intermittent water pressure issues for the past several years, we've had several plumbers come by and either be baffled, give us costly "maybe this will work" options, or give us responses like "sorry, call the city." We, and the previous owners, have been calling the city for ages and have never had any luck. Jim gave my wife and I a specific issue that the city had to address, and he wrote us a quick script to use when calling. Finally, after all the years of losing all water pressure while showering, the city is coming and digging up our sidewalk and fixing the pipes. Jim didn't charge us for coming by, but we have an old house and we will definitely be calling him the next time we need a plumber.

Jim is an excellent plumber and one I have absolute faith in. I called when the water heater broke. He was booked for two weeks solid, but I waited and am glad I did. He installed a type of water heater that will not break as easily as the one that I had, apparently from Home Depot. I sent him photos of it by email so he would know what to purchase. He gave me a choice of one with 10 year warranty and one with 6 years. I chose the more expensive one. It was in place in no time flat.

He did a great job and I would recommend him.

Jim came over punctually, took a look at the mess I'd done trying to install a toilet by myself. He got down to work efficiently and completed the work quickly. He was polite and professional. P.S. I don't recall the exact date that the work was performed, nor what it cost; I'm just guessing.

So glad we found him. He came over in the morning and was willing to install the faucet I bought, but he recommended buying a different, better quality, product. I got the new item and he came right back to install it. I really appreciated the advice since it actually was more work for him. He also fixed a leak in a different faucet.. No extra charge. We will likely renovate a bathroom in the future and will call him!

This isn't Jim's first visit to our home, yet every time he does work for us, I am once again reassured that he will be our plumber for life. He always calls back right away, gets to us within a business day of our call, and talks through options before he does any work. His prices are very fair, and he's a genuinely kind person. If you need a good plumber, who is also a good guy, stop shopping around and call Jim!

Jim came back a few hours later and replaced the canister and the hot and cold water seats in the shower valve. It saved the day. He shut off the water in the house for about twenty minutes (2-family house), so he caused minimal interference. Nothing leaks and the spigot works!

Everything went great. Jim was very prompt for our estimate appointment and the follow-up appointment to do the work. The final bill was the same as the estimate. He was very professional and helpful. I would definitely use him again.

To me I can't say enough good things about Jim Richard. He returns calls promptly, usually the next day if it is not an emergency which my problem decidedly was not. I wanted to turn on the valve leading to an outside spigot which hadn't been used in years, so it was no surprise when it seemed to be leaking. I called Jim. He came the next day, looked at the valve, tightened a loose connection, and that was it. It was something that I probably could have done myself. and when I asked how much, Jim said "no charge". To me in this day and age that was incredible and extremely nice. I will certainly use Jim Richard in the future if and when I REALLY have a problem!

Jim returned our call the same day and came to the house the following day. He was quick, efficient and very helpful. We were entirely satisfied.

I needed to fix a leaky faucet but the shutoff valve for the sink didn't actually shut off the water fully and also dripped. I figured it was time to get them all replaced in the two bathrooms that had these old shutoffs. Wanted to get new ones for the washing machine too. He installed the part I had for the leaky faucet too. We had used Jim once or twice before, so I called him. He got back to me within a day or so and we scheduled something for 2 days later. He showed up, evaluated the situation and said he could do it then. I was happy to have him do it and comfortable enough with Jim that I left him in the house alone. Jim is honest, did what he said he would and didn't mess around. What more could you want from a plumber?

Jim Richard took my phone call and was able to come to the house within the hour. He evaluated the situation and determined the flanges (approx. 45 years old) needed replacement. Flanges and toilets in two bathrooms were fixed and replaced withing 2 1/2 hours. Mr. Richard was very professional -- told me exactly what he was going to do, did not do any damage to my new tiled floors, and let the area very clean.

We met Jim when he did the plumbing as part of a home remodel upgrade (he was the subcontractor to the main contractors we'd hired) and we liked him so much that when we had some issues in our old bathroom we called him back directly. Not only is he fast, reasonably priced and very professional, he was great with our kids. (We have a four and six year old who were totally fascinated by what he was doing.) Definitely highly recommend!

Water heater was leaking. Called Jim and left detailed message. Jim gave me standard quote and arranged a time. He came, completed the work, and sent a receipt within the next week. A pleasure to do business with.

The pop off valve on my hot water furnace began dripping very steadily. I called Jim annd told him the problem. We set up a time for him to come by. He was prompt and professional and he replaced the popoff valve ($288.). It seemed to solve the problem, but later that day, it began drippinmg again. Jim came first thing the next moring and replaced the pressure reducer valve ($575) and that solved the problem. I really appreciated his quick response and professionalism and I would definately hire him in the future.

Jim came within 24 hrs. of my call - fine by me since it was a very slow leak. He was very courteous and afterwards explained what he had done. I have used him before and will in the future.

I saw that Jim got a lot of great reviews, so I called him about scheduling some work in two apartments. It did take a couple of days before he called back and he explained he was extremely busy with a very big job. Nonetheless, he didn't want to leave me without a way to do the work. He assured me that if I couldn't find anyone else to do it when it was needed, that he'd come and do it before or after his regular workday. I thought that was extremely considerate and really appreciated that he wanted to be sure that I was not left without bathroom facilities!

Jim was very responsive and professional from the start. He arrived on time for all aspects of the work from the initial quote thru install and inspection. He explained the options and gave us good communications during the work. He even did his best to help when National Grid was giving us trouble getting the new gas line installed. He completed the work in a prompt manner and he was very forth coming with invoices to help get the various gas rebates thru. All around a great experience.
