Great, Jim responded quickly to my call and came out and did an efficient, professional job hooking up a new gas dryer and diagnosing and repairing a broken disposal. He showed me how to avoid the disposal problem in the future, and how to fix it myself if it re-occurs. He spent somewhere between 1 and 2 hours, and billed me about $200. I called another time about two radiators that were not working, and he came out and looked at them and within 10 minutes was able to tell me that the problem was electrical and outside his expertise. He referred me to an electrician, and when I called the electrician, he had already spoken to him and explained the problem. He did not bill me at all for that visit. He was pleasant and professional, and I would use him again.

Jim advised us from soup to nuts on how best to put together a brand new bathroom and kitchen (gut rehab). He ran all the new pipes from the basement to our 2nd floor unit, put in all the fixtures, and handled our antique cast-iron claw foot tub to get it up to code. Jim is thoughtful, thorough, accurate, careful, and very smart. If something springs a leak he comes as soon as possible to fix it. He also did a lot of smaller but very necessary jobs in our tenant units. We are VERY SATISFIED.

I emailed a request to get a quote on a sink basin replacement around the New Year's holiday. Jim was out, but responded to me upon his return, during the first week in January. I had already received a response from another plumber on 12/29, and was able to schedule the work for 1/2.

Jim always returned my calls promptly, was flexible about scheduling when I had to change the date. He arrived just when he said he would and is very pleasant to talk with. He showed me how to do the job, so I wouldn't have to pay him to do it next time, and gave me pointers on fixing the toilet myself. (He also gave me an estimate on the toilet repair in case I decided to hire him to do it.) He wasn't able to solve the problem of the periodic leak in the basement, but there was very little evidence to go on, since it wasn't happening when he was here.

Jim called back right away and made a next day appointment. He arrived on time, and was very courteous, and personable. He immediately spotted the problem, which took him 5 minutes to repair. He also gave us some advice about how to avoid having the same issue in the future. His charge was quite reasonable. I would absolutely call him first the next time I have a plumbing issue.

Jim was polite, exactly on time, neat (personally and professionally), and very capable. He did a tidy job of drilling through the finished ceiling of the basement below and installed and connected the new pipe very efficiently. While Jim's price may not be the lowest around, we received full value for the money we spent, and we have hired him to do other work on our home's aging pipes.

Jim was great. He showed up on time and identified and fixed the problem right away. He was also extremely helpful in answering my additional questions about the gas shut off valves. He was very friendly, polite and knowledgeable. His pricing was also very good, relative to some of the bigger plumbing companies that work in Watertown. I would definitely use him again.

He seemed smart and was pleasant to deal with but never got back to us with the estimate we needed.

Jim was prompt in returning call and in providing estimates, but his quotes were excessively high relative to the others. Jim quoted me $1000 to install a new water heater and to reconnect the gas dryer ($500 labor cost for each work). Another company's contractor provided a quote of $290 to install the water heater. I went with a local plumber who installed both for only $300.

This is the second or third time we called Jim up. He is a wonderful person to work with. He's highly intelligent in what he does. He is clean and respectful and comfortable to be around. I'm really thankful to have a plumber that we can call who is so professional and caring. He has always been prompt in returning my phone calls, even when we are playing telephone tag, and he's always on time. I've recommended him to all of my neighbours!

Mr Richard returned our initial phone call promptly, was polite and helpful with advice, and submitted an estimate quickly. He did need to reschedule appointments a couple of times, but always answered his phone or corresponded by email (a definite plus.) Our contractor was very impressed with his work and with the fact that he cleaned up afterwards (the work required cutting a rather large hole in the wall.) I thought his price was reasonable, and he seemed happy to point out less expensive methods of work. We also asked him to do some other work that our buyer's inspector had stipulated, but he explained why it was not necessary. I have recommended him to several people since who have also been pleased with his promptness, professionalism, and quality of work.

He was prompt and helpful. He explained things easily. I asked him for a range of the possible solutions to the work we needed, and he was just great.

He was very reasonable, price-wise, compared to other quotes we received and we were very pleased with him and the services he performed.

Jim was fabulous in all respects. In addition to just being a pleasant, friendly, and good guy, he returned calls right away, showed up when he said he would, was thorough in his communications and estimate to assure that we were all on the same page about all the work and expectations. He completed the work in a very timely manner, he was clean and considerate working in the house. He even came in well under his cost estimate - which is always a nice surprise! I also appreciated all the time he gave us in talking through options, explaining different approaches, and giving honest and appropriate recommendations. We plan to call him for a variety of other projects in our house when it's time to begin them.

Jim was on time and nice enough, but when he gave me an estimate for moving the gas line in our kitchen six feet, I assumed he just really doesn't want the work. He said it would be $1000. Just to move the gas line six feet. To rough out the plumbing for the kitchen sink, disposal and dishwasher, it would be $2200. To me, that's kind of crazy. We then contacted a second plumber, Jim Gogos, and were relieved when he gave us an estimate of much less. He said the gas line was no big deal; it would cost $250. In addition, Jim Richard suggested our kitchen was likely not vented, and we'd need to drill into our upstairs' neighbors' place to create venting. We got very worried and had to research this. When the second plumber came to give us an estimate, he easily pointed out that venting our kitchen would obviously be simple, since the ''y'' fitting was visible from the basement. And simple it was. Jim Richard might be a good plumber, but his estimate was not.

Nice guy. Returned calls promptly and showed up when he said he would. The jobs took longer than expected because of a broken fixture for which he did not have a replacement on his truck. He came back when called to adjust his prior work when a small leak persisted. His current rates of $90/hr seem very reasonable to me.

Jim was very responsive and professional. His prices were very reasonable, especially compared to some of the larger plumbing contractors.

Very polite, on time- in and out with the minimum of billable hours (sometimes I have the feeling plumbers drag tasks out so they can bill more) He gave us good advice on types of appliances to buy, hints on how to insure the garbage disposal keeps working- and how to troublefix if there are minor problems. It often takes awhile to schedule with him because he's so popular.

Great job all around. On-time, flexible and delivered a beautiful result. Great email and phone communication. Will definitely call again.

Jim is prompt, professional, low-key, and a nice guy. He responded quickly to view the job and advise me about purchasing a single faucet handle to replace separate handles. Once fixtures were delivered, he arrived at the promised hour to do the work. He removed the old fixtures quickly and deposited them at the street for trash pickup. His installation of the new plumbing and fixtures was clean, efficient, and careful. Equally important, he was a pleasant presence. I would certainly call on him again.

HE CHARGED ME ONE HOUR'S LABOR ($80) TO GO AND BUY A "SPECIAL" SAW HE SAID HE NEEDED. HE SAID HE BOUGHT IT IN THE TOWN I LIVE IN, WHICH IS A SMALL TOWN. I ASKED ANOTHER PLUMBER IF THIS SAW WOULD BE STANDARD EQUIPMENT IN HIS TRUCK, AND HE SAID YES.
