Jim Richard was very pleasant to deal with and very professional-he showed up exactly when he said he would to uninstall my old dishwasher. The job ended up not being quite as easy as it appeared because the previous owner had cobbled together a kick plate to secure the dishwasher and he had used contractor's adhesive. He then came back after the new dishwasher was delivered and installed it. The invoice was more expensive than I thought it would be, given the prices which had been listed here on Angie's List-so my one piece of advice would be to get an estimate first from him. He was at the house less than 2 hours(with minimal travel time)and used very few supplies since the old dishwasher already had the hook up installed. But I've had a number of plumbers out to fix things and he's definitely more thorough than others.

He moved the washer and the dryer to another side of the cellar, he plumbed them in, they worked fine, and we have had no problems at all. He is a very nice guy.

When I first called Jim, I got voice mail and no response. (I did mention that it was not an emergency.) I called again a few days later. Jim answered and promised to be there in a couple of hours. He was early! I showed him the problems with the kitchen sink and he got right into it. He pointed out that the joint nut above the rotted pipe was also cracked. he replaced the assembly with stock from his truck. During testing he found that one of the flexible hoses leaked and replaced it. He tightened the mounting screws of the faucet, reestablishing the sink top seal. We moved on to the bathroom to determine the cause of tub shower drip into the basement. Jim pointed out that the origin of the drip was from the side of the tub, not near any pipes, concluding that the problem was the separated shower enclosure walls. He tested and proved the theory, and made suggestions of simple ways we could address the issue. We did a short consult on remodeling the bathroom. He explained how he dealt with that type of project, and made recommendations of dealers and manufacturers for us to look into. Jim was on site about an hour and a half. He was pleasant and informative, and did exactly what he said he would.

I placed the call in the evening after my kitchen drain suddenly backed up. I got a return call the next morning. Jim Richard was not available to come out that day to address the problem, but he said from my description that I was better off hiring a drain cleaning company anyway. He provided me with a very good reference. I was very grateful for the return call as this saved me from a lot of calling around. I was very happy with the reference he gave me.

He was thorough, personable, and prompt.

He got back to me in a reasonable amount of time and returned my phone calls. He was able to address the problem within a few days. I didn't really do any good comparison-shopping, but I feel like he did good work.

We came home from a family trip in November with our 10 month old only to discover that we didn't have any hot water. The water heater was leaking (thank goodness for the pan underneath!) and no longer functional. We called several plumbers who gave us quotes on tankless and traditional water heaters. Mr. Richard's quote and recommendations were by far the most economically feasible and sensible. Jim came first thing in the morning the day after we called him to give us the quote. When he called back an hour or so later he also told us he had had a cancellation and could get started immediately. (He had previously offered to do the work over the weekend.) Even though the job took considerably longer than anticipated, he completed it the same day and stood by the original quote.

It was great. He came out and did an estimate and the cost was very much on target and very good. When he came out he was on time and did excellent work. Everything went very smoothly.

He was very professional. He knew what he was doing. He came on time and was fast and accurate. He was very prompt, courteous and he did a fantastic job.

This is the second time I used Jim after finding him on Angie's List. I got lazy and didn't file a report after the first time I used him. Both times Jim was very professional and easygoing. His price was reasonable, he always had good suggestions and did the work efficiently. I will definitely be using him again.

Jim was prompt and efficient in meeting me to provide an estimate. Was again prompt and efficient when showing up for the installation. Everything went like clockwork; he estimated 2 hours for the job and came in a little under even with doing a few extra things for me. Very clear in the way he explained everything. Nothing but professional and friendly. I'd work with him again in a heartbeat.

Great. Jim called me back right away, quoted me over phone, came within two days and was here right on time. He did both jobs in less than an hour, explained to me what he had done and what he thought was causing the problem (with the water heater). Jim also showed me how to adjust temperature on water heater and took a look at my sink and discussed water filtration systems with me (at my request). I asked him about replacing our gas burner, which is old and inefficient, but seems to be in decent shape. He said he could do it, but it looked like it was in good shape and he wouldn't do anything with it quite yet. We will definitely use him for all of our plumbing needs. I had been quoted literally almost 10 times the price by a large plumbing company prior to using Jim.

Jim was great, came in ready to work, went through the list of items. He was successful in trouble shooting the tankless hot water heater - 2 previous plumbers and a company technician had failed - incredible!!! He also helped me deal with the city inspector who was telling me the furnace exhaust needed to be torn out and redone (had been installed by HVAC company correctly - but not with a licensed plumber). This was a great relief and I cannot thank Jim enough for handling what had been a very stressful situation. His work was impeccable - I highly recommend him.

Absolutely great experience. Jim was very pleasant right from the beginning when I called him on the phone. The company delivering our dryer wouldn't give us a delivery time so Jim said, "Just give me a call as soon as you know when." I called him the morning of the delivery and he had no problem working us in to his schedule that day. He showed up just when he said he would and did a fantastic job. If you have any plumbing needs, this is the guy you want!

Jim was very professional and punctual. He called me back almost immediately and set up a time to come look at the work and give me an estimate. He was on time. He submitted the estimate the next day. I called him to accept, and we scheduled a mutually convenient time to do the work. He was on time to do the work. It was done quickly, cleanly, and professionally. He submitted his bill on line to me; it was exactly what his estimate was.

Very well! He showed up on time, did the work (old house not everything goes to plan, which he dealt excellently with), he cleaned everything up and even put the handles onto the vanity (not a job for a plumber). We were very pleased.

I am extremely happy with Jim's professionalism and service. He came out to our place in Cambridge and inspected our leaking hot water heater and our sink area for the disposal. I received an estimate the following day via e-mail, and we scheduled a time over the phone (about a week later) for him to install both items. We discussed in detail our choices for both the hot water heater and disposal, and Jim walked me through various options for each. Jim also arranged for my old hot water heater to be picked up, and both installations took approximately two and a half hours total. I would definitely have Jim come back to work on anything else that may need plumbing repair, and I recommend him to others without hesitation.

This plumber was originally scheduled to come one afternoon. He had to reschedule but the new time actually worked better for me. He worked quickly and did a great job. My faucet works properly finally!

Jim installed our new dishwasher. He was working on another large project, but modified his schedule to do this work. He arrived promptly and installed the dishwasher in about an hour. We didn't shop around, but the $230 fee seemed reasonable. Jim has done other projects for us in the past. He has always arrived promptly, done excellent work and took the time to explain his work. We always got the impression that Jim was completely above board and never tried to bill us for unnecessary work - unlike other people we've dealt with. I fully recommend Jim for your plumbing projects.

I like the fact that he gives you choices. He is always prompt and will call me to let me know when he is coming. I think he knows his job and I am comfortable with his decisions.

Jim responded to our call, came over within the week and did good service. We will definitely call him again for any plumbing needs.
