GILBERT CAREY PAINTING AND HOME REPAIR

Great! Gilbert was wonderful to work with - his crew exceptionally detail oriented, skilled and hard working. I can't believe how much they accomplished! I am bringing them back because the quality is tops and the rates very feasible for the quality.

This is the 3rd project we've done with Gilbert since 2009. He's responsive, reliable, punctual and does great work! On two occasions we needed work done quickly and Gilbert was able to accommodate.

Ultimately, we chose a different vendor due to a last-minute family recommendation. However, we will certainly consider using Gilbert Carey in the future due to his promptness and professionalism.

Gilbert was incredibly easy to work with, and managed to get all the painting done before my move-in date on relatively short notice. He also gave great advice on paint colors, and gave me a two-part estimate in case I wanted to save money by doing one part of the job (painting back hall and stairwell) for another time. The finished result looks great and I would definitely recommend him!

I have a number painting and carpentry jobs in different areas in my house, including casing pipes, installing trims, as well as patching, sanding and painting walls. I got multiple bids via Angie's List, and decided to use Gilbert mainly due to his advantage on price. Gilbert scheduled my work in about two weeks. His team showed up on time as scheduled. They worked very hard to get the work done in two days as he promised. I am very impressed by their efficiency, since I have prior bad experiences that contractors just wouldn't complete the last piece of work what so ever. I'm also very happy with the quality of their work. My money is very wisely spent. In addition, Gilbert is great in communication. He responded to most of my emails in a few hours. I highly recommend Gilbert's service, and will use him again soon for another painting work in my house.

Could not get the work scheduled within my time frame, getting a refund on the big deal.

This was actually the 3rd time we used Gilbert and we have been very happy with his work each time. On this occasion he repaired the beadboard ceiling in the sunroom, replaced several panes of glass, scraped and sanded the walls and trim and then painted everything beautifully. The finished room looks amazing. Gilbert is easy going and delightful to work with. He charges a fair price, shows up as agreed and goes above and beyond to get all the details just right. We can confidently recommend Gilbert.

Gilbert is great: professional, conscientious, a good problem-solver--with fair pricing. Also a very nice person to have in one's home. This is the second job he's done for us. Wouldn't use any other painter.

We needed to have wallpaper removed and walls and ceilings painted in our home, and we had just one week for this job to be done. We found Gilbert on Angie's List and, because of a large enough number of good reviews, asked him to come and estimate. He was available to do the work during the time frame we needed, and his estimation was considerably lower than the ones of other contractors. The work was done by his workers, on time and with good quality.

We recently found Gilbert through one of the Big Deal promotions. He was quick to get in touch and squeeze us into his busy schedule to get our work done ASAP. Gilbert was attentive to our needs and his crew did a great job - accomplished all that we asked for in one day. I would use this company again and have already recommended their service to friends.

The 2 painters were very pro and did an amazing job.

.I was impressed the there 2 guys had to carry the drop cloths, latters, paint etc. up and down the stairs which was labor intensive and time consuming. They did so with a smile. They paid attention to detail and left the place clean. The owner came back afterwards to check if I was satisfied which also impressed me.

I used an Angie's list promotion for two painters for a day. They arrived on time and completed two rooms. The team did a very good job and I was pleased with the result. They cleaned up after they were done. As a result of the job they did, I hired them to come back and paint two more rooms. They did arrive an hour late for the follow up appointment. The tardiness was offset by the attention to detail and the quality of the painting.

Gilbert was very pleasant and professional to communicate with. He was thoughtful in making suggestions about what colors and paint to use, noticed and cared about improving on the previous work. He and his crew arrived on time, and did a wonderful job--all reasonably priced and in less than a day! I was VERY impressed and delighted with how much better my apartment looks now!

Amazing! This was the second time using Giblert and his crew. I am impressed with how organized and professional he is. He also stuck very close to his original quotes both times. The quality of his work is excellent and he is very flexible as well. He treats the members of his team well and in turn they are all very respectful of you and your home. A great Angie's List find!

Having had a series of water leaks, which we believe are now corrected, we purchased a Big Deal from Gilbert Carey. Gilbert responded immediately, came right out to see the work, scheduled the job in a timely fashion, showed up on time and performed above and beyond what we asked. Our dining room ceiling had some stains which we wanted to cover up but incorrectly assumed a painter would not be willing to cover just the stains [to cover the unsightly marks as well as to provide a clean surface to make sure the leak has been corrected], but would insist on doing only the whole ceiling. We were pleasantly surprised to find those stains covered! It doesn't exactly match the rest of the ceiling, but it matches a whole lot better than brown water stains! He gave us advice on some other issues, without pushing for a contract. We have scheduled him to come back to work for us personally as well as for our condo association. He responds promptly via cell, not so much by email. Not unusual for a contractor. We would liked to have had the work done sooner, and, do understand that scheduling is difficult when dependent on weather and unforeseen complications. His work is great, his prices fair, we would definitely recommend him.

Purchased "Big deal" and Gilbert immediately contacted me to set up appointment. Unlike some other "big deal" providers who try to up-sale and increase the work, Gilbert was able to perform all of the work (it was a lot) within the terms of the "big deal". I thought it was a tremendous value. Gilbert readily returned phone calls and was very easy to work with. He and his partner did a fantastic job and I'm very pleased with the quality of the work. He has a lot of jobs going on and might need a reminder to confirm the date and scope of work. It might be helpful to write things down. I would readily use him again and highly recommend him for interior paint work.

Everything went perfectly. The project was completed in 2 1/2 hours and looks great. It was a pleasure meeting and working with Gilbert and we're already planning on having him do other projects. It was a positive experience in every way.

This was a great experience....my favorite and most painless project my 6 months of home projects. Gilbert is the best and just what you would hope for in a contractor. He was pleasant, professional, knowledgeable. He answered all of my questions with a smile and a great attitude. He and his staff member worked consistently thru the day and were able to complete the painting of all aspects of the room (our goal was to get as much done as possible with the day's coupon time allotment). The painting looks great and we are very pleased with the result.

He was really great and very easy to work with. I was very happy with the results. I had to get my own paint, which I knew that I was going to have to do that. It was exactly what I thought it was going to be. It was the big deal and then $100 for the paint itself. He was very responsive. I will use him again. He has already given me a quote for the upstairs. He gave us a very reasonable quote for that.

Couldn't have had a better experience or result. Gilbert came on the day of the scheduled appointment on time. He brought a bigger crew than the two man crew we had paid for so they worked quickly. The job took longer than what had been contracted for but Gilbert stayed with one member of his crew to complete the job and charged us a very reasonable amount for the additional work time. They cleaned up thoroughly. Gilbert was personable and very professional. We're thrilled with the results and will use Gilbert going forward for any painting to be done.

It was a pleasure working with Gilbert, who was at all times pleasant, responsive, and professional. The team worked efficiently and neatly, and when they were finished, everything was swept and/or vacuumed, the furniture was all back in the right places, and the pictures were rehung on the walls. They were careful to time the work so that there was always usable living space left for me when they were finished for the day. I had to call Gilbert back when I saw there was still a problem with one of the cabinets he had repaired and he arrived and fixed it on the same morning of my call. While a big painting job like this is never easy to go through, Gilbert made it as painless as possible.

Gilbert and one other painted did great work. Gilbert came alone to patch the holes, then two days later spent much of the day doing all of the painting. He did exactly what we agreed, and even repaired some extra water damage that I had not noticed in another room. Would definitely recommend!

We had some water damage from a leak in the apartment above us. We called Gilbert to repaint the ceiling. He was friendly. Did an excellent job and worked quickly.
