CRAIGS LANDSCAPE

The condo manager pays the landscapers, but some of that money comes from my rent. It went well, MUCH BETTER than in all previous poor attempts to clean the wells. Previously, workers had tried to use blowers to get the leaves over the walls, which did NOT work well. In about 6 previous "cleanings" of the wells that I witnessed part of, the result was always worse than before they started, with more dirt and leaves from the lot blown in than were blown out. This time, blowers were Not used in the wells, and All the leaves and trash and most of the dirt were swept up. My only remaining complaint is as follows-- I had left a garden shovel on top of some free adpapers that were on the floor under a chair I leave in the well. On top of the chair, I have some ad papers that I'm still looking at and occasionally a magazine. The worker picked up the ad papers under the garden shovel and deposited the bottom papers along with quite a bit of dirt ON TOP of the CLEAN PAPERS I had on the chair. Even so, this was less dirt than they had previously blown on top of the papers on the chair in the many work sessions they had done before over about 3 years. I was happy that they had finally responded in the affirmative to several requests I made, starting years ago, that they sweep the wells rather than try to blow the leaves out.

They did the work on the day we agreed on. The grass popped up very quickly. The lawn looked beautiful. There were a few bare spots and we called them. They returned the next day and put down some seed in the bare spots. I highly recommend and will use them again.

They are very prompt and very neat. They are quick and thorough. They are very friendly on the phone. They are very good! They do whatever you want or need.

I need a new yard service, so I called Craig's Landscaping several times to request an estimate. He never returned my call.

Craig came out and took a look. We told him what we wanted to do. He suggested something completely different and much more involved (i.e. much more expensive). It was not at all what we wanted to do with our property. We asked him for a quote for what we wanted. We had another quote from another company (which we ultimately ended up using) for $3,000 to do the job. Craig came back with a quote for HIS proposal....NOT ours. The quote was for $20,000. I responded and thanked him for proposing his idea, but that it was not what we wanted to do with the property. I again asked him for a quote of what we wanted. He said that it would end up being the same due to the nature of the wall removal. I responded with several other questions, several times, and Craig simply never got back to us. The only response we got from them was asking when we wanted to go ahead with their proposal. I know they do good work and wanted to work with them (and told him this) but when someone refuses to do what you ask, that's a problem. It appeared as though since we did not want to accept his expensive and elaborate option, he did not want to do the job. We had the other company do the job and they were excellent, responsive and took care of it quickly...and at a reasonable price. This was the first step in the project which is now moving forward. They had no problem with what we wanted to do and were able to do it without extravagant expense. It's too bad - not a good way to deal with prospective customers and I had heard such good things about them.

We used them for a spring cleanup, including hedge trimming and dethatching. However, they did neither. We had to call them, and they came back a month later and still charged us more money!

MEMBER HAD TO PLAY A COUPLE OF WEEKS OF PHONE TAG IN ORDER TO GET SOMEONE TO GIVE AN ESTIMATE. MEMBER LEFT A FEW PHONE MESSAGES. BY THE TIME THEY CAME MEMBER ALREADY FOUND ANOTHER COMPANY TO USE. THIS COMPANY GAVE A QUOTE OF A LITTLE LESS THAN THE COMPANY THE MEMBER CURRENTLY USES.
