Matt and his father before him have provided heating oil and service to us for more than 35 years. He has installed a new oil burner and tank over the years and advised me how to leave things when I travel to prevent any freezing pipes or other problems. Their service is always prompt...years agowhen we had an old burner they even came on Super Bowl Sunday to fix a problem!

Arlington Fuel Oil Co is very good. I've been using them since 1998 at both of my homes. Their staff are very professional and polite. I can always count on them for honest and reliable service. they may not be the least expensive home heating oil complany in town but I wouldn't go anywhere else. The service is great.

I had my first delivery from Arlington Fuel Oil on late December, 2013 after growing dissatisfaction with my previous dealer.The woman who initially answered the phone was extremely polite and helpful in setting up the new contract . I set it up so that I would call when my tank needed refilling. They always came the next day...They cleaned the oilburner at the start of the season and it worked perfectly all winter..The owner of Arlington Fuel Oil told my son that the previous oil dealer had not had it installed properly and I had been wasting a lot of heat up the chimney, which he fixed. I had a leaky valve in my dining room radiator in early spring which they repaired expertly in about 15 minutes for a small charge of $23.25. They also installed tank guard in the middle of the season to protect against rust. All in all, the winter was unusually cold and I need a lot of oil to stay warm at 66 degrees, but I was very happy with the service and company.

I check oil prices on occasion and order 100 gallons at a time and I have ordered through this company satisfactorily

Matt is awesome. He has been extremely helpful and responsive in dealing with an older oil steam boiler and the overall heating system in the unit. He has come twice on a Sunday to address problems and has been extremely helpful with both short term fixes (to get the heat running again) and longer term solutions. I am extremely happy to have him available as I know little about oil systems. Their oil price are not the lowest, but it's worth the peace of mind to know that if something goes wrong (and it always does) Matt will be there to get things running again.

The company was generally fine. They delivered promptly, were available for timely repairs and service, etc. However, we found their oil price high. This is not unreasonable as the oil price included emergency service and yearly cleaning. However, since we are replacing our oil burner and have used so much oil this winter, we wanted lower oil prices. So we found Arlington Energy that just provides fuel oil (automatic delivery) and directly deducts the cost of delivered oil from your checking account. Emergency service and cleaning is available but is billed separately. This way, we saved (at current prices) 40 cents/gallon.

Arrived a week before we wanted them to, but otherwise everything was good.

Like other fuel oil companies we contacted, Arlington Fuel Oil would not deliver less than a full tank and would not deal with us unless we were a regular customer. They were no better and no worse than other companies ==> C.

First, I must apologize to Matt Campbell because I did not submit this review in a timely manner. This is especially terrible because Arlington Fuel - specifically Matt - was incredibly timely in all his interactions with me. In a previous review I had told the Angie's List community how Matt was a lifesaver when last February my boiler cracked! He was able to seal it so that it lasted the winter of 2013! Subsequently, Matt gave me a detailed written estimate of how much a replacement - including his recommended boiler and his labor - would cost. Matt was professional and thorough EVERY STEP OF THE WAY. He even gave me all the information I needed to request an energy audit, and a possible reimbursement from a MassSave program - which I wasn't able to qualify for - but Matt tried anyway. During the summer when I should have scheduled the installation, I wasn't on top of the issue. But as soon as I contacted Matt in September, he scheduled the job for October (the earliest possible date in his already full calendar). From then on Matt took care of EVERY POSSIBLE DETAIL for the purchase and installation. He was diligent in getting all the necessary work permits from the city of Cambridge, and keeping me informed of what, when, how everything would happen (October 23, 24, 25). He and his crew were PUNCTUAL, PROFESSIONAL, POLITE and they left everything completely clean! And at that time I should have submitted this review. But I was a slug and just never got around to it. Not until a couple of days ago did I think of Matt again (shame on me!) when my tenants complained of a leak in one of the radiators. Yesterday I called Matt and he went the same day to fix the problem! Three months after his work was completed he had no obligation to do this. But he did! What a guy! As an absentee landlord ( I live abroad) and a woman, Matt's conscientious attention to his work and his commitments saved my sanity. THANK YOU!

During the 12-13 winter Matt Campbell would show up to get our heater going. He even came on Christmas evening -- with his usual lovely, upbeat professional attitude. He said then that he could get us through the winter but encouraged us to think about getting a new heater during the warmer months.He left reading materials for us to study. He did get us through the winter and then worked with us to install the new heater in time to receive NStar's early boiler replacement rebate. Matt had to coordinate jobs with a couple of other professionals to have asbestos removed and replace the emergency oil switch to a legal location in out kitchen but all went smoothly, which is consistent with our past experience: We have purchased oil from Arlington Fuel since we moved to our house over ten years ago and they have always been attentive and professional. Matt is fabulous. He knows his stuff and is very good at explaining the overall picture and the details.

First (& most importantly to me) everything I read about Matt as a person from Arlington Fuel here on Angie's List is absolutely true! Even tho he wasn't able to perform an emer service call due to numerous other commitments he took the time to call me & gave me very valuable information over the phone..He's extremely knowledgeable & I have no doubt does excellent work..If I ever need service in the future Matt will be the first one I call..Thank you so much Matt!

Arlington Fuel Oil Company is a family owner professional outfit that can be counted on, although they will not beat every other company price wise what you end up with is superior service and emergency help that will be there. I highly recommend them compared to other providers in the area.

They have been servicing my heating system and supplying me with oil for 30 plus years. They always respond promptly to any concerns or if work needs to be done. They are the best !

Arlington Fuel responded to a late-night emergency call and fixed the problem within 36 hours. They were professional, prompt, and competitively priced. I would highly recommend Arlington Fuel Oil Co to all. Everyone in the company is very warm and friendly.

On the evening of Saturday, December 22 our boiler (30 years old?) broke. We called Matt Campbell who arrived within 15 minutes of our phone call. He inspected the boiler and steam system and told us what we expected: Our boiler was kaput. He gave us a rough estimate that evening and over the next 48 hours our new boiler was installed and running. He brought in extra help to complete the job by Christmas Eve. Following the installation Matt came by and reviewed the completed work with us, explaining our new equipment, making adjustments and telling us what to expect. Clean up of the waste boiler and parts was prompt and thorough. We knew that we were going to replace the boiler but we didn't expect that we would be replacing it on Christmas weekend. Matt Campbell and his team made this experience tolerable. He's a professional who respects and truly cares for his customers. We recognize this and we are grateful. While I do not plan on replacing our boiler again, we're sticking with Arlington Fuel.

I am living in Rome and have my apartment in Cambridge rented to 3 young professionals. A couple of months ago a problem with the boiler started. Since I am not in MA, I gave the tenants the go-ahead to call in a plumber. I WILL name this person AND his company. John Dwyer of Barrell plumbing SWINDLED them/me. He came, diagnosed, left, charged $305 to my tenant's credit card, and after a month of repeated attempts to contact him for follow up, we had NOTHING! 2 days ago my tenant wrote me a very angry email because they were refilling the boiler every 4 to 5 hours. And still waking up to 50 degrees in the morning. I immediately started phoning FROM ROME plumbers recommended by neighbors, friends, condo owners. I finally decided to go to Angie's list for help. THE BEST $35 INVESTMENT IV'E EVER MADE! ofONLY TWO RESPONDED! Matt was one of them. Yesterday he spent at least 20 minutes on the phone with me, listening patiently and trying to find solutions. He promised to make some time today to stop by the apt. He called the tenants, went to the house, fixed (albeit temporarily) the problem by using a sealant, and wrote me an extensive email with EVERY detail that I, as the owner, need in order to make some decisions. The other plumber who responded was Mike from Alewife plumbing. Thank you! I am thrilled to have Angie's list as a resource and even more to have found a conscientious, honest, professional plumber. You can bet that I am not using anyone else for any of my plumbing needs. Moreover, I will put in a strong vote at our condo association that Arlington should be our preferred provider of plumbing services.

We have an annual service contract with Arlington Fuel. During our last service visit, Matt let us know about the Mass Save audit and how much we could save on a new boiler installation. A new boiler was definitely needed because we think the one we had was original to our 1940 house! Matt told us how the process worked, submitted a proposal with options, and he did all the work in a timely and professional fashion. We even had a pipe issue during the installation because some of our pipes were so old. Matt took it upon himself to find us the right people to fix the problem as soon as possible. In many respects he played the role of general contractor without compensation. He just believes in honest, quality work.

When our old Weil McClain oil boiler died, we needed a new one immediately, so I called Matt, the owner of Arlington Fuel in a panic. I got to know him when I moved in to my home, as we needed to pick from an array of oil companies in the area. He personally came over to talk to me, and came across as honest and hard working. Nothing he has done since then has changed my initial impression. There were times at the end of my old boiler's life where it would just shut off. Anytime I called, Arlington Fuel was there to assess and fix the problem immediately. They are a 24/7 service company that you can count on. Anyway, when my boiler died, Matt walked me through all my options, gave me his advice and was very up front about quality of product, costs and time frames. I went with a high efficient oil boiler which I have been very pleased with. Matt's team of professional workers came in immediately to break down the old one and prep for the installation of the new one. I have 2 small boys and a mother-in-law who are here everyday - the reports from her was how professional, thorough and unintrussive they were - very respectful of our situation. Throughout the whole process, Matt was in constant communication with me explaining the progress and making sure everything was to our satisfaction. When the work was done, the basement was cleaner then when they arrived, and the new boiler looked great. All my construction-appreciating friends commented on the quality of the job, from the boiler placement, to the piping to the connections. True craftsmanship. Matt spent an hour with me after it was completed to explain the new system, as well as to help me maximize my energy savings with little tips. If you appreciate old school work ethic, personalized service, and accountability, I highly recommend Arlington Fuel and Oil as your oil provider. This is Matt's family business, and he personally oversees all the work being done within his company. He takes a great deal of pride in everything he does.

It went great. Finished on time, no unexpected costs, completely cleaned up.

The men were professional and friendly and on time. Matt let us know about a boiler rebite that we qualified for which was helpful because we didn't know this existed.

On schedule as promised. On time completion. Installers were polite, cheerful, and unobtrusive.

Matt came as scheduled to look at the boiler and plan for the installation. We received their proposal for 2 options shortly after. He explained why he recommended one over the other. He followed up to schedule the installation to ensure it would be complete in the timeframe required for the rebate. It was the other vendor that caused a delay, and they accommodated that. The crew completed the installation within a day and left the work space neat.

Matt, who is one of the most helpful and courteous people I have encountered, came within one hour to fix our 'no heat' situation during a cold spell, and we weren't even his customer yet; but now we are and will be forever. It is family business..one time dad came over and solved a water/boiler problem and didn't charge. This business is a true port in a storm.

Work was performed as scheduled. Two inspectors praised parts of the work.

Matt at Arlington Fuel could not offer better service or be a more decent person. He met every deadline and that really helped me out as I needed the boiler in a tight time frame. He got it done despite Christmas and a major snowstorm and then New Year's. He did the work for exactly the price quoted and provided all the info I needed to get a bank loan. Matt also repeatedly provided me with good advice about other needs for my home. If you want to be assured of good honest work - call Arlington Fuel!
