Excellent, fast job, done very professionally during the COVID-19 weirdness. Our oven died; the stovetop and broiler still worked, so it seemed likely that the igniter died. Their repair tech arrived within 15 minutes of the start of the promised window, verified that it was a dead igniter within 10 minutes, and had a replacement installed 10 minutes later. Did the whole thing being very respectful about keeping distances. Definitely will hire again when we need them, hopefully after society has emerged from this difficult time!

Excellent. Arlington Appliance folks were able to diagnose and fix the problem, and then fix another hose and clamp before another leaking event. Nice and very competent people. Highly recommend them.

Great. Dan from Arl App spent roughly 45 min total with us, much of it mucking around w the machine. He gave us a min estimate of $500 to replace the seal but also said that in his experience it would be more b/c other things were often also wrong when you got in there. At these price points his advice was it wasn't worth fixing. So we paid over 100 bucks to hear that but in my opinion it is well worth it. My neighbors have recommended Arlington Appliance, too.
Description of Work: To see if our LG frontloading washer off of the kitchen was going to make it. The front seal was broken and the washer had flooded the back of the kitchen and down into the basement.

I have an old Maytag washer from 1976 (in the green color) for my tenant to use. Apparently all of a sudden the water would not drain and it was leaking as well. I called Arlington Appliance and they came the next day promptly when they said they would. Dan the senior technician was awesome! He really knew his stuff. He had to vacuum out the water in the washing machine. He found that a sock got stuck in the hose which blocked the pump from draining. Luckily there was no damage to the pump, but a couple of the belts were worn so he replaced those. The washer is now running like new again! My tenant overfilled the washing machine which may have started the problem. I would use Arlington Appliance again for any appliance issues. They are reliable, honest and knowledgeable. They fix almost all makes including high end brands like Viking.

Fixed refrigerator which was forming pools of water on top shelf. Very quick and inexpensive, solved the problem and we would absolutely recommend using this company! Note that others had previously looked at this and told us we needed new fridge, or tried fixes that did not work. We will be repeat customers any time we need appliance repair.

Company responded to my call quickly, and made an appointment for the following day. Technician arrived on time, and went to work. It took a while for the technician to identify the problem, but he was able to fix the machine by resetting the computer rather than replacing it. He also showed me how to access the emergency door release, which has already been useful. He cleaned up appropriately, and made sure the machine was back in its original spot so that it was level and stable.

The office was able to schedule an appointment quickly and politely. Dan arrived promptly and diagnosed the problem quickly despite the fact that a friend had tried to fix the problem and left the dryer partially disassembled. Dan encouraged me to call them and not let an amateur attempt appliance repair. Lesson learned. All in all, a good experience at a reasonable price.
Description of Work: Repaired dryer that died in the middle of a cycle and wouldn't restart. The problem was a broken belt. Luckily Dan had one and replaced it.

The office scheduled someone to come at the time that I requested. They asked the for the brand of the appliance so that they could make sure the repair person had the required parts in the van. Dan showed up on time and immediately figured out the problem and fixed it. He also fixed a second stove in another apartment. Both the office and Dan were a pleasure to deal with. They anticipated the problem and made sure to have what they needed in the van. I'll be using them again in the future.

Woke up to a fridge that had clearly not been running for several hours --- food in freezer melting, food in fridge getting warm. Our fridge had been making a odd grinding sound from time to time, so we had thought that it was on its last legs and we needed a new one, but we were not happy about the idea of buying one under duress. I called Arlington Appliance just as they were opening. Although we were about 10th in their service queue, they noted that we were the only ones in danger of having a pile of rotting groceries, so they bopped us up to the top of the list. A repair technician came by within 30 minutes; within 20 minutes, he diagnosed the problem as a faulty timer which controlled the defrost cycle. This turned out to be the source of that grinding sound we had been hearing for several weeks! --- excepting the timer, the fridge was fine. They needed to order a replacement part, but were able to do a stopgap repair to keep us running for the week it took for the part to come in. Rather than spending nearly $2000 for a new refrigerator, we spent less than $200 for a new part and the service call. Great responsiveness, great service. Highly recommended; we will absolutely go with them again if one of our appliances needs attention.

On Saturday morning, our washing machine started making a grinding noise. After calling two other places and getting no answer (despite their websites saying they had Saturday hours) I finally got through to someone - at Arlington Appliances. I made an appointment for Monday afternoon. Dan arrived twenty minutes early for the job, took one listen to the problem, and knew exactly what it was and how to fix it. Within half an hour, Dan was in and out and our washer was fixed. He was prompt, professional and quick - all the things you want in a home repair.

I called in the morning of 5/1. At 11:00 A.M. Dan came to check the dryer. He knew right away what was wrong. He had the part in his truck. He proceeded to fix the dryer. He checked all of the parts and in less than an hour he was done and my dryer was fixed! Dan was Knowledgeable, professional, and friendly! I guess I lucked out in calling Arlington Appliance and getting Dan!

They arrived right on time and worked quickly, efficiently and with good humor. And it was a really tough job. A stacked washer/dryer (bolted together) that had to be moved out of a tight space for the work to be done. They were super professional about it. They cleaned up and checked to make sure everything worked before they left.

I first met with the guys from Arlington Appliance (Bill and Dan, I believe) a few months back when they installed an over-the-stove microwave in our new house. The microwave died right before the previous owners sold the house to us so they coordinated everything through Arlington Appliance and the new appliance was installed shortly after we closed on the house. Around that time, our dishwasher stopped working so I asked to tack on a service call while they were doing the installation. Bill explained the problem and said that, given the age of the dishwasher, the parts alone would be an expensive fix and not necessarily worth it. I decided to purchase a new dishwasher a month or two down the line and ultimately chose to go through Arlington Appliance for the whole thing. While I was able to get a seemingly better deal on the appliances themselves through places like Home Depot and Sears, the prices evened out once you factored in the installation costs (for example, Home Depot was going to charge $250 to hire a contractor to do the installation) and extras (the mandatory installation kit). Also, Arlington Appliance was able to get everything done in the most timely fashion which was especially important given that I had a tight timeline due to one of my children's birthdays coming up. I especially appreciated that they sent one of their guys out after hours to do the measurements in my kitchen just so they could get the ball rolling as quickly as possible. I've had two very positive experiences with this company and would certainly consider using them again for both appliance repair and purchasing/installing a new appliance. A note about the cost, the installation itself was $175 and included removal of the old appliance and delivery of the new one. The remainder of the cost was for the dishwasher itself.

I told them I had coin operated washers on the initial call and that the washer was not receiving water and the cryer was not receiving heat. I normally use Cedar Appliance to fix these appliances but I thought I would give Arlington Appliance a shot. They said they would call me when they arrived and tell me what needed to be done. They called and left message saying they needed the service key to fix the appliances. I never received a service key when purchasing them and Cedar Appliance has serviced them in the past and never needed it. Arlington Appliance must mainly only do residential appliance since they do not have the service key. I spoke with Joan at their offices and reiterated the fact I told them they were commercial appliances and she confirmed she knew they would need service keys. They are still charging me a $70 for them to come out and look at the appliances. I would have never had them come out there if I knew they would need a service key. Joan should have asked for the service key on the initial call. I told Joan I am trying to relate to their situation and tried to compromise by splitting the $70 charge. They said no and I am now writing a check for the full amount. Now I have had to Cedar Appliance to come out and actually do the work.

The repair team arrived during the scheduled window, examined the refrigerator and said the compressor was not working properly. The did everything possible, including cleaning the coils and several other things that I did not completely understand, to make it work. They then left and returned severa; hours later to see if it was cooling . Unfortunately, it did not work. I have used them before and was prepared to purchase a new refrigerator from them. They said it would be two weeks before they could deliver and referred me to Grey's Applicance in Medford. I appreciated their honesty.

!Amazing!!! I called at 8:00am on Monday because my refrigerator was dying. The ice had melted and the milk was only cool. They answered the phone after two rings and asked about my problem. They have been in business for decades. They said that refrigerator crashes peaked as Spring turns to Summer and the were booked back to back. They asked if the next day, between 1:00pm and 3:00pm would be alright. He arrived at 1:10pm and apologized for the delay. He immediately found the problem. He called for parts while standing there and asked if a two day wait would be O.K. I was delighted. He said they could take a 50% deposit o the estimated $220.00 job or I could charge it all when he finished. Two days later they called at 8:00am, (apologizing for the early hour), to ask I would be home that morning. He arrived in about an hour and spent 30 minutes or so on the repair, (he even cleaned out the freezer saying any melted ice would cause a strain on the defrosting unit). I paid the balance happily while he tided up. They saved my eight year old refrigerator! They fix everything :-) I know who I will always call when trouble happens.

Arlington Appliance made a prompt appointment after I called, and quickly diagnosed a failing main pump as the the reason our dishwasher was no longer cleaning adequately. They recommended we replace the pump because very little else on the machine was likely to fail, and this would save us from having to replace the unit at double the cost of the repair. They did the work very shortly after the part came in, and the repairman was very courteous and thorough. The unit works like new now, and we were very happy with our experience with this company.

I noticed my gas dryer wasn't getting hot, so I called Arlington Appliance. They're really good about getting work scheduled, and the guys have always arrived on time. He took the dryer apart, and showed me how the gas valve wasn't working, so he replaced it, and all was well until a couple of days later when the drum wouldn't turn. So I called them back, they came out, and found the belt had broken. Now, it always seems suspicious when you have something repaired and immediately afterwards something else goes wrong, but the dryer is 12 years old, so it didn't some unreasonable that taking it apart and putting it together may have put enough stress on the belt that it went. Just to be nice, they didn't charge me for the belt itself (a very nice gesture), though of course labor was the bulk of the cost. Hopefully, as the repair man said, this dryer will last another 10 years and I won't have to replace it, because in the end I spent almost enough for a new dryer (but who knew the belt was going to go?)

We called several service providers on Friday afternoon when our refrigerator stopped working. We didn't want to lose all of our food so speed was of the essence. After a very disappointing phone experience with Whirlpool (the manufacturer) and their third party repair vendor, AE Factory Service -- they tried to upsell us a service contract with an extended warranty, and canceled our next day appointment to do so, pushing us out two weeks just so their greedy sales rep (posing as a service rep) could book a sale -- we found Arlington Appliance, which was the only company willing to do the service call next day, on Saturday. They called Saturday morning as promised to confirm the appointment, and came within the timeframe they stated, which is always wonderful. The repairman, Bill was very friendly and knowledgable, assessed the problem quickly, and told us we likely had a bad relay switch. He did not have a replacement part on his truck, but drove out to his facility to find one, and came back very quickly. He installed it and the refrigerator started working immediately. The total cost was half of the Whirlpool service contract/warranty ripoff they tried to sell us. I am so glad we went with Arlington Appliance, who came the next day (on a weekend), showed up when promised, provided fast and efficient service, and did not try hit us for travel charges or any of the other ancillary costs some service vendors try to pad their invoices with. Update -- the next day the compressor gave out. Bill returned and will be replacing the entire appliance. Will update review with rest of story when it happens. . . .
Description of Work: Replaced a broken relay switch that had stopped the compressor from working on our refrigerator.
