+ 1 moreAn excellent experience. Fred returned calls. He and his crew arrived when promised, 7:30 in the morning. Worked until 6:00 PM that night and had the water back. They were, friendly neat and professional. They managed to replace the pipe, nearly 40 feet total length, without needing to dig up the front lawn. They contacted Dig Safe, pulled permits, and arranged a police detail. Came back the next day and seeded the area they had dug up. The grass came in fine, but they came back two weeks later to make sure it was OK! Reilly & Sons were a pleasure to work with and I would recommend them highly. They were also the lowest bidders for this job.
Description of Work: Our house is about 90 years old. One morning I went into the cellar to do some wash I noticed water on the floor near the water meter. Turns out the cast iron pipe, the original one, was rusting through. I called the town and they came and looked at it and shut off the water at the outside valve for fear the pipe would burst. In my town, as in most, you are responsibe for the water main from the meter to the street shutoff. You contact an excavating company to replace this pipe since in involves digging some 10+ feet down in the street and perhaps your yard as well to replace the pipe. The job involved excavating in front of the house, breaking through the foundation, running a new pipe, regrading and patching the hot top and foundation and reseeding the area.
