Ed the Plumber delivered an unsafe, dysfunctional shower we can?t use. Ed completed demo work down to the studs, installed the acrylic base with drain, shower head and valve. He then sub-contracted out the Swanstone walls, many of the fixtures and sliding glass doors. After the walls were installed, sealed and the trim work completed, we learned that Ed the Plumber failed to ensure the base was level and did not put adequate support under the base so it would be solid. When my 110 lb. wife stood in the shower, the base would flex, creak, and the drain would move. The faulty installation of the base caused a very difficult door installation resulting in days of wasted time by the sub-contractor, for which he asked us to pay him an additional fee. After the sliding glass doors were finely installed they would not stay shut or stay opened and could not be adjusted to compensate for the unleveled base. The end result was we were left with an unsafe, unusable shower. We made several requests for partial reimbursement from Ed the Plumber. He responded by saying he was ?distressed? that we were not happy with his work and asked to come over to discuss remedies. We offered him 4 dates and times, that was 2 months ago, he never responded. We have been forced to hire other workers to come in and correct the mistakes Ed the Plumber made. We will continue to press Ed the Plumber to pay the additional costs we are assuming caused by his unacceptable quality of work.
