driveway pavers
+ -1 moreHe did a very nice job on repaving the driveway a couple of years ago but told me I should seal coat it the following year. I scheduled it twice last year and he never showed and after multiple calls it became too late in the Fall so he was supposed to do it this year. I had it scheduled twice and he never showed or called again. The last time I called about a month ago he assured me he would be out the following week but I never heard back. If they originally told me they were too busy then I could have gotten someone else but now again it's too late in the Fall to do it. It appears if the job is not big enough they could care less.
Description of Work: He originally repaved my driveway, but was suppose to come back and seal coat the following year.

+ 0 moreThe condominium parking lots were originally built in 1973 and had been patched and re-patched as gas lines were run over the years and so on. We had puddles in many places and it just looked like a sorry mess. We had several paving contractors come over and measure out all our needs, but Howard Cooper was just a stand-out in terms of his professionalism. He came when he said he would, efficiently measured out everything and got back to us with his price right away. This shouldn't be exceptional, but it was. He came in with a good price and is a local company for us, so he was our choice. We are thrilled! The crew was incredible to watch. They were like a hive of busy bees out there. Everyone was working and appeared to know exactly what they were doing at all times. This was a large crew of guys, 12 or so, with giant machines and it all ran like clockwork! To a man the crew was polite, smiling, enthusiastic and responsive. The work looks amazing! The asphalt walkways we had were cracked in many places and the new ones are not, of course, but our old walkways had a raw, unfinished edge. That's what we expected for the new ones. But Cooper Brothers shaped the edges of our walkways with a nice, finished edge! Same all around our parking lots! We are so pleased with how it all looks. We will highly recommend Cooper Brothers Paving for their work ethic as well as their beautiful finished product.
Description of Work: Cooper Brothers Paving completely stripped, graded and paved our parking lot. We are a condo community with 2 parking lots and many walkways leading to each front and back door.

Description of Work: Hired company to replace our driveway. Our agreement was that he would match the level of the new patio. The day we agreed to start they never showed up. After several phone calls finally I got a call back they said they were too busy to come out that day. When I told the women that answers the company phone I did not appreciate her not giving me any notice she said sometimes her husband doesnt tell her what is going on and it is not her fault. When they did show up the gravel base they put down was clearly not enough. Which was also the opinion of the stone mason that was installing the new patio. If it had been left as is the driveway would have been three inches lower then the new patio since my agreement with the asphalt co. was to match the level of the new stone patio. I called to express my concerns and was told that I "should not try to tell him how to do his job" he finally told me he would come back to add more gravel base. Three hours latter he showed up at my house to inform me he would no longer be doing the job. I was baffled, we had a scale drawing that he agreed to. He had even talked with the stone mason prior to taking the job everyone was in agreement. My only conclusion is that A he doesnt know how to read a very simple and exact plan and or B he does not honor his agreements Either way I would not recommend hiring this company unless you want to work with incompetent rude people who that walk off the job when you hold them to their contract.

concrete driveways
+ -1 moreThey were neat punctual and did a great job laying the asphalt at the base of a rock retaining wall by hand. They left detailed instructions on how to maintain and proling the life of the driveway. The driveway now drains well due to the regrading. It is too eartly to comment on how well the driveway holds up and if pot holes develop. We have a one year warranty. So far I am happy with the price and the quality of the work. We saw Cooper Bothers working on a neighbors driveway and approched them to ask for a quote. We had recceived recentr quotes from otehr companies. They came in a few hundered dollars cheaper and included the regrading of the driveway. One important note. We approched them the day they were ripping up the neighbors driveway. They did no already the loadof asphalt with them. They quoted the job same day and so when they arrivedw with the load of asphalt they had the appropriate amount for each driveway. 9/17/2012 Update: I just downgraded the overall grade due to the following: We had come divets appear in the paving over the past summer, when people turn their wheels when statiionary ( versus moving). We have contacted Coope Brothers several times to repair it and have had no response from them
