 + 3 moreWe were delighted with the job he did. Our house looks like new. He was very thorough and let no problem go unsolved.We would definitely use Pelham Wood Works again.
Description of Work: The basic job was to install cedar shakes for siding. Which he did very well and promptly and with a good eye for details. He also redid all the roof vents and basic carpentry where needed.

Description of Work: I called this guy today to get an estimate, and he told me he doesn't work for anyone he doesn't already know and hasn't worked for before. He sounded very upset that I might actually ask him for an estimate -"he doesn't do that". He asked where I heard of him, so I told him Angie's list. He said he wanted his name off of Angie's list.

Description of Work: stairs off deck; creation of new room in existing basement; shelves; cabinet doors; install safety rails; turkey smoker loan; odds and ends. I've used him for many years, but this form only allows one specific date!

 + 10 moreOur colonial garrison home was built in 1969. No upgrades had been done on the house, with the exception of a full length deck replaced and enlarged by same contractor 8 years ago. My allergies had gotten very bad due to mold in the house and the wall to wall carpeting on the second floor and in the TV room. We replaced all carpet with oak flooring upstairs and in the kitchen, TV room and entry hall. Dave took down two walls around the kitchen and installed engineered beams to take the load. He took out all the original cabinetry and installed new cabinets. He also built an island in the kitchen. The TV room adjoining the kitchen dropped down 8 inches and was 40 year old carpet on concrete. Dave raised the floor and two doors. He then installed oak flooring. We had to replace the old electric panel that was 40 years old when we installed 5 spotlights in the kitchen. Dave dealt with the electrician, plumber in bathroom, and the ceiling plasterer (for the popcorn ceilings we inherited in the TV room and living room). Dave sealed the floors in 10 rooms. Overall, this work spanned a year. We found Dave to be absolutely reliable. He always did what he promised. He was easy to have in our house as we lived around the construction for 6 months. I recommend him with no reservations.
Description of Work: Installed new hardwood flooring throughout house. Raised the floor in TV room 8 inches to match floors in rest of first floor; re-hung two doors. Gutted kitchen, installed island and hung new cabinets. Took out load-bearing wall; Installed engineered beam to span the space. Installed back-tile on two walls of kitchen. Repaired interior walls that had mold problems. Served as general contractor with plumber, electrician and ceiling plasterer.
