Summerlin Floors

Horrible experience with the installers. Doesn’t matter what the owner writes back, he wasn’t here and didn’t experience the way my wife and I were treated. Period

The tile is laid well. The grouting was poorly done. It was put on too thinly and the employee was on his cell phone while working. We had the kitchen/dining area and living room redone. I should have called immediately but the whole project took about a month and I was more than ready to be done. It is 4 1/2 years later and the grout is crumbling or gone in areas. My husband went to the local store and expressed our dissatisfaction. Another man was sent out and agreed it was faulty, took a sample of the grout to match color, and we have never heard from them again. My husband does not want a repeat performance so decided to call someone else.

Well enough at the time. But the grout was fitted sparsely in some areas. And the man who was installing the tile was on his cell phone during most of installation. We had just finished having our kitchen/dining area/ living-room remodeled and I was too tired to complain. But when it started crumbling about 4 years later my husband stopped at the store to request it be repaired. It took quite awhile for anyone to come and only after a call. A sample of the grout was taken. But we have not heard from them since, and it has been months. I do not recommend them.

Excellent overall experience. This was the first time we had purchased carpet and Summerlin were so helpful in the whole process. They helped us picking the right carpet from their huge selection, coordinated the install with other contractors (Saturday hours were great pick up and drop off samples) and delivered a great product. The installation was super smooth, we needed to modify the date at the last minute which was no problem. Kurt our installer was on the ball, he called ahead to let us know when he was running 30 mins behind in the morning and was able to complete the job (2 rooms + large staircase) and clean up everything in one day. Reliable, professional and efficient.

The store was most generous about allowing us to take samples and keep them for a bit to make a decision before returning them. It was most helpful to be able to do so. The man from Summerlin who installed our flooring was excellent. He was most professional - punctual, polite and meticulous. He did a beautiful job. We cannot say enough good things about his work.

We replaced carpeting in two bedrooms and were very pleased with the project from start to finish. After visiting the store and getting a rough estimate, based on our measurements, Lori sent someone to our house for exact measurements. There was no charge for this and no pressure to buy. Once we decided on the carpeting and padding, a written quote was given. The carpeting was ordered, installation was scheduled. The installers arrived promptly, were professional and neat. We chose the Karastan Smart Strand carpeting and the Karastan recommended padding. Lori honored the 5% discount on material, offered for Angie's list members too. All in all, the entire process went smoothly and we are satisfied. Any further replacement of carpeting or flooring in our home, will definitely be done by Summerlin

The whole process went very well. The salesmen in the store were very helpful and knowledgeable. We were able to take many samples home. When we were ready to do the work an appointment to have someone measure was made quickly. The appointment was kept right on time. The installers arrived when expected and completed the job in exactly the time quoted. They were efficient, did high quality work, and left the work site perfectly clean each day after they left. This was the second time using Summerlin floors and I would absolutely use them again for another project.

Paul went above and beyond the call of duty to help me with research for healthy carpeting that was low in VOCs, and would have a low pile for my elderly mother, who is now using a wheelchair and rolling walker. He knew from the start that they would not be the seller, and yet he continued to help me with much patience and good cheer. When the first recommendation didn't work for my mother, he was happy to help me find other carpets and was willing to talk to me on several occasions. I will be in the market for some new flooring of my own in the near future, and I wouldn't hesitate to use Summerlin Flooring as my preferred floor installers. What a wonderful experience this has been!

From start to finish it was a great experience from choosing the vinyl to the finished installation. The installer arrived on time and was masterful in his work. Although he worked alone he worked straight through the day until it was completely finished. He was also very helpful in helping me return a free-standing cabinet back to the kitchen which is a task I could never had done myself. The finished product looks wonderful and we're very pleased with the work!

The team at Summerlin did an excellent job. They were patient with our sorting process, expert in their recommendation, and skilled in their installation. We would use them again without hesitation.

The work was finished in a professional and polished manner. Some areas of the shower were a bit complex, but no problem, the solution was elegant. One lot of glass tiles did not match the sample, but Summerlin went to bat for us and we ended up with a lovely choice. Summerlin explained the issues and decisions we needed to make up front and everything went smoothly.

All went well until the last step--new tile covered 1/4" wider space than original. When towel rod (cheap) could not be remounted in existing screw holes, without asking our preference, workers opted to CHIP the new tile to make room instead of either drill new holes, get a different size towel rod, or shorten old rod a bit. At this point asking them to remove and replace the tile would risk compromising the waterproofing membrane beneath. They did go and get some paint to nearly match the chipped out tile, but that move makes it impossible for me to give them an A rating. They did a separate job (also reviewed later) about which I have no complaints (grade=A).

The work was very difficult and took longer than estimated. We paid the workers an extra $100 ($430 total) since they stayed late 2 days uncomplaining and did a great job cleaning up after all the dust raised. I would expect them to give a higher estimate on their next such job.

It was hard to get a salesperson to spend time with me and help me make a selection, which was a little frustrating, because I needed help, but they do have beautiful carpets. I give them credit for trying to convince me to buy the less expensive material (synthetic), but the wool was nicer and I decided to spend the extra money. I am very happy with the final product. It is at least as nice as what I was expecting. The rugs I ordered arrived in a timely manner, and they called to let me know when the order was ready. All good.

Summerlin Floors very friendly and knowledgeable. They were accommodating, quick and professional.

They were very professional from start to finish. Helpful without pressuring us. Let us take our time picking out samples.The work itself was well done. The installer was professional, friendly; answered our questions along the way. When encountering a problem would talk with us and problem solve. All work was done as expected, without any additional cost. We are very happy.

In the morning there was no backsplash, and when we got home in the evening it was completely done and perfect.

.Replacement of laundry area flooring. 22 year old washer and dryer were moved out so we could get ready for delivery of new ones. I knew battleship linoleum was underneath a carpet that had been laid in by previous owner . I wanted the carpet out and proceeded to remove it, uncovering a part of the battleship linoleum to be totally disintegrated, leaving a terrific uneven, rough area, covered with linoleum shards. I spoke with Paul at Summerlin's who informed me that the floor could be "leveled....cleaned up..then covered with 1/4 inch plywood. Paul suggested using one of their stock vinyls because the area really did not need high end vinyl. Richard arrived as planned to take measurements and assess the situation. the original estimate was $849 which I thought reasonable, given what looked to me to be a ticklish job. I wnet down and chose the vinyl from a stock of 15 decent choices, and set the date of 1/30...."early because Manny likes to get an early start...he is at the store by 7 and will be at your house by 8:15." Manny arrived at 7:50, and went about organizing his work in a very quiet, professional manner. I enjoyed watching the way he set up everything and pleasantly went about the job at hand. He worked steadily, and his expertise was evident. Manny finished about 5 hours later, and suggested giving the area a day free of walking so that the glue would harden well, offering more protection. I could not believe the new appearance of the floor..wonderful ! In addition, I would like to add that my husband is not well, and Manny let me know when he might be using tools that would be very noisy and or upsetting. I really appreciated that concern. It had been 13 or so years since we had needed Summerlin's services. The bathroom floors they did at that time still look new. we are loo`king forward to using them again later in the year for a more extensive job. When the bill arrived, it was $70 less than the estimate.

It wasn’t a big job. That job was a couple of hundred dollars. They were here on time and did it in no time and it was great. They came in and looked at it and gave us some choices on what we could do and did the work and it was great.

They were very helpful and did not pressure me into a sale. Just there if I had questions, etc.

I have been very lucky. I don't have any complaints about them. I would like to grade them highly in all the categories.

It was very positive. They did an excellent job. It wasn't a huge amount of carpet. They knew all the little detail of what to ask us in terms of how we wanted it installed. They got it right and they mimicked the shape of the wall and really matched it perfectly. The price was fine. We would use them again.

They just did the job well and they did the job when we were out of town. We were pleasantly surprised to see everything done very professionally.

We dealt with a gentlemen named Paul at Summerlin Flooring when we picked out samples and talked about cost. Very nice guy and the estimate was right on target with the final bill. No hidden surprises. The technician (Manny) (that's right..just one) started the floor on a Monday. My husband and I stayed at home during the installation, but kept out of his way....I think! This man was so well organized, meticulous and very porfessional. He worked all day Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday hardly ever taking breaks. He even dusted and swept behind the fridge, stove and washer/dryer while moving them! He clean up each night before he left. Truly a class act! The installation looks flawless. We will be going back for carpeting soon.

I thought the original estimate was high but it turned out to be a very good value. They are one of the few in the area that offers and installs natural linoleum. The installer was great. He showed up n time and worked super hard. The floor turned out beautiful. I am totally satisfied and recommend them.
