Alan Shumway replied to my query right away, told me when he would be there, and showed up exactly on time. We ended up not doing the work, which was entirely my fault due to confusion with another contractor. Alan impressed me by handling the situation with courtesy and professionalism. I would call him again without hesitation.

They were wonderful. They were prompt and responsive and did a great job.

If you live in the Pioneer Valley in Western Massachusetts and need a roofing contractor look no further. Shumway Roofing is the best. Alan Shumway is a straight shooter who does exactly what he says he's going to do and finished our job early despite all of the rain this season. No radio noise, no bad language, just friendly workers who are extremely considerate of property and people. We have had countless individuals marvel at how safe and attractive the job was. This is a testimony to Alan's skill as a crafts-person and a businessman. We breath a little easier these days knowing our roof was done by an expert.

I realize this work was performed many years ago ( 15 years ago) and due to other construction to our home recently, I'm finding out the contractor DID NOT install the vents in all roofing bays as stated he would. We found only 3 bays with the proper ventilation material installed on one side of the house. 3 out of 10 not a good deal! Otherwise the work was performed to average / adequate satisfaction.

I met with Alan Shumway to assess the damage and go over the scope of work as recommended by my insurance company. He was very professional and had some great ideas. My wife and I really wanted to use him but unfortunately his price was almost $5,000 higher than the next highest bidder. We were very dissapointed, but I would definitely call him again for a quote. I deal with many contractors where I work and know when someone is a true professional. Alan fits this bill.

They gave a 30 year warranty for the roof. It looks like a business that is going to be round for another 30 years. The representative was a good communicator and he told us about the issues and gave us the solutions which were less expensive and more expensive ones. It was good. They were there when they said they would be. They were careful of our property. They picked up after themselves.
