After estimating the job, we never saw the contractor on the job to inspect the work. A couple of the workers were OK, but several of the crew performed poorly, trying to skimp on work & materials & one showed up intoxicated/hungover. While replacing sheathing, one of the crew stepped on a ceiling from above, cracking sheet rock. The old attic venting hoods which functioned well were eliminated, but new ridge vent installation was not done properly and soffit venting was neglected, resulting in moisture build up & necessitating remediation. Call back resulted in the contractor sending a crew chief to field my complaints. This guy admitted there were problems, but when he reported back to the contractor, he didn't agree and wouldn't fix the problems. The shingles and skylight were well done. However, I ended up redoing the ridge vent, installing soffit vents, and still get aggravated when I see the cracked ceiling, 4 years after the job was completed.
