+ -1 moreCalled Junk Haulers - was given a description of their services and pricing over the phone. They were responsive to my initial call and scheduled a time to come out 3 days later. I took great care to describe the junk and it's size -- the final estimate was w/in $10. I liked that they re-quoted me after arriving and gave me the opportunity to deny the service. They completed the work quickly and swept the area afterwards. They were professional and friendly and easy to talk with.
Description of Work: Haul away junk.

+ -1 moreOn the day of the actual removal, they showed up on time, were very friendly and polite, and removed the tank efficiently. They left no mess and worked very quickly. They were a pleasure to work with.
Description of Work: We needed an oil tank removed from a basement. On their first visit, they pointed out steps we would need to take for their work to proceed.

+ -1 moreI took advantage of the Big Deal junk removal being offered. When I first contacted Armando, we agreed upon a date within a week. Armando was very polite and easy to deal with. On the day of the hauling, Armando and his assistant arrived 5 minutes early, ready to work. I had placed just about everything I wanted removed next to my driveway. I underestimated the amount of junk I was getting rid of. Armando said he would do his best to take everything in one trip. I told him I would write a check for a second trip if it were necessary. True to his word, Armando amazingly managed to load everything I had. They work fast and professionally. I had forgotten one piece of furniture I wanted to remove, and Armando carried it out for me. Armando obviously takes great pride in his work and his business. There was no goofing around, no foul language, no leaving a mess. I will enthusiastically refer Armando to family and friends, and purchase his services for my own future projects. In addition to other clients, I could see Armando working well with elderly clients; he has the patience and disposition needed to get through major projects where extra guidance and discretion on the haulers part may be needed.
Description of Work: The team loaded the things I wanted to get rid of into their trailer and truck. They moved old mattresses, TV's, furniture, toys, file cabinets, etc. I offered to help, and they politely told be they could take care of it. They swept the area clean after they were done loading. They made sure nothing was forgotten. They tightly secured everything they loaded.

Description of Work: My husband and I moved from our rental home to our own home on 10/8. The mover had agreed to remove some "junk" items, but wound up leaving them behind. We knew our landlord planned to show the house on 10/14, so I contacted Armando around noon on 10/11 via Angie's List. He returned my email within an hour, and arranged to meet with me to give me an estimate at 6:30 that evening. He called at 6:10 to let me know that he was in Topsfield, and would be at our home on time. When he arrived, he walked through and noted all that needed to be done. At the end, he concluded that it would constitute an entire truck-full of hauling, and gave me an estimate of $375. At the time, I was afraid that was too high. The next day, I saw on Craig's List that our landlord planned to have an open house on 10/13 - an entire day earlier. I did contact another junk hauler, who initially gave me estimate of $575 - then lowered the price to $510 when I indicated that we couldn't afford that much. In addition, he charged me $25 just to give me the estimate. I contacted Armando again around 3:30 today (10/12) to ask him how quickly he could remove our stuff. He returned my call immediately, and stated that he could do the work on Friday or Sunday. I asked if there was any way he could do it sooner, given that our landlord had moved up his open house to tomorrow. He asked to call me back after he made a call; 5 minutes later, he called to tell me that he could do it tonight at 6:45. He said that he wouldn't be able to have a helper, but was sure he could do it himself. We had a TV, a very heavy modular desk set in four pieces, a rug, and quite a lot of the kind of trash that accumulates when you move. I planned to go over after he left to sweep up. Armando called me at 8 pm to say he'd just finished, and suggested I might like to look at what he'd done. I couldn't believe what I saw, Armando not only removed our mess, but he swept up the garage and the two rooms that contained them. He couldn't have been more courteous, responsive, or helpful. It was a stressful day, to say the least; our landlord is not particularly pleasant and would have been very upset to see anything left behind. (I should mention that we're paying him through the end of October, and he still would have been unpleasant.) Armando came through in a way that gave me so much relief, in a difficult time. I recommend him most highly, and am very grateful for his work ethic.

+ 0 moreI requested an estimate for service via email around 9PM on Wednesday June 29. I received a response from Armando within an hour with the estimate and his contact phone number. I replied to the email that the price was fine and that I would call him the next day. When we spoke the next day, we mutually agreed to a time for the pick up on Sunday July 3. The Saturday before the scheduled pick up, I received a call from Armando telling me that he had injured his hand moving something earlier that day and asked if he could reschedule the pick up to the following Sunday, which I agreed to. (Note: Accidents do occasionally happen and Armando did in fact have a nasty looking gash on his arm when I saw him the next week.) The following Sunday Armando came to my house as scheduled having called ahead that morning to confirm the time. He and a helper had the furniture removed quickly and efficiently. Armando and his helper were both very pleasant and courteous. Armando was very diligent about calling ahead and keeping me advised of any issues, which I appreciated. I would definitely recommend Junk Haulers and would not hesitate to call them again in the future.
Description of Work: I had an old sofa and love seat picked up, hauled away and disposed of.
