Worst experience ever -- a joke from start to finish. When I went to the store, the sales staff had no idea what I was talking about. I described the item and told them the co-owner assured me it was in stock. Fortunately, I had saved the item to my 'wish list' on the Wolfers website and the only way we were able to proceed was to access my account from their computer. Finally, they confirmed that the item was NOT in stock and would have to be ordered. The next business day (Monday), the sales person called to say that the vendor did have the item in stock and they would ship within 24 hours. In addition to the quoted price, there would be a $25 shipping charge. I asked if it could be shipped directly to my home but they said no, they would need to inspect it first. By the end of the week, there was still no sign of it. When I phoned several days later, they told me it had arrived. They subsequently called back to say that the item they received was white (not black, as I had ordered). So back it went. They reordered it in black and requested expedited shipping. Two days later, they called to say that it was ready for pick-up. I phoned my electrician and scheduled a weekend appointment so he could install it before the ground started to freeze (a fairly major job as it required removal of the old lamp post, which was deeply set in concrete). I made my THIRD trip to the store to pick up the item. When the electrician arrived the next day, he found that (a) the pole was 84", not 132" as I had ordered; and (b) one end of the pole was badly smashed in. I phoned the store and told them I was done and requested an immediate refund. They told me I would have to return the item. I said it was their turn now and would they kindly arrange for someone to pick it up. They refused, even though it was their mistake -- again. I returned to the store for the FOURTH time, dropped off the damaged item, and received a refund in the mail several days later. (Commendably, they did not charge me for "shipping.") No apologies, no offers to make amends, no attempt to satisfy me as a customer. Perhaps things would have been different if I were outfitting a McMansion. But this was a very simple purchase and they botched it every step of the way. I will NEVER return to Wolfers and will NEVER recommend this business to anyone.
Description of Work: I attempted to order an item listed in their online catalog (outdoor lamp post, black, 132"). I emailed the store to ask if it was in stock. One of the owners responded to assure me that it was (although from a different vendor). I went to the store several days later to purchase it.
