COMPUTER LOFT

They were quick and very effective. As always, I am very happy with the service. My son is **** ** his laptop, but they helped to make sure this repair was covered under Apple's warranty. In the past I have purchased data recovery, screen repairs, new hard disks (internal and external) and always been satisfied. The only minor minor issue was once they were on vacation starting the Monday after I dropped it off, so the repair took an extra week. But their vacations date is on the web page.

The weird part is, I already have parallels and I don't want to spend $100 on it. I didn't want to bring it up because he was getting upset, and it wasn't what I came in for. At some point I realized I was defending myself from this guy. It was a little weird. When I ended up asking him if I could speak to someone who could tell me a little more, he basically asked me to leave. The manager came by and apologized on my way out, saying that is not our policy. Frankly the whole thing was bizarre. This guy must've just been having a really bad day and didn't want to be there. Anyway I ended up making an Apple store appointment at another location and got everything taken care of right away and for free. Even at the Apple Store they were really surprised about what happened. The manager at the Apple store was very nice and took my complaints, she said that they'll actually be investigating this place because the experiences are supposed to be just like the Apple Store. Such a weird place! Don't go!

Fixed at one visit

I will go to Computer Loft for any Mac or Apple Product repair in the future, in our out of warranty. I went there because the Apple Stores were completely booked, and I am glad I did. They are an "authorized" repair center, so have the same relationship with Apple and its repair depots as any store, maybe better, who knows. As to the first computer, an accidental water damage repair is not covered by Apple Care, but Apple will fix it for a flat fee of $750, and then your Apple Care continues until expiration. Staff at Computer Loft helped me determine that it was cost effective to service the first laptop, which had good specs, but not the second, three-year old machine, since Apple Care had expired, and a new Macbook Air would cost about the same as the repair (899). (I had gone in hoping to "get" them to replace the battery anyway, but they declined to try this, explaining to me what the water damage diagnosis by Apple staff really meant, and that it would almost certainly not work to replace the battery and would be a waste of money to do this.) As a testament to how well it's all working, I dropped off the machine on Monday, and it was shipped out, repaired and returned by Wednesday, less than 48 hours! Hard drive was not damaged, so I have same machine, with almost all new components. Staff was very knowledgeable, eager to educate, friendly and transparent.

They were responsive, professional, and did a fantastic job. They originally set my expectations that they would not be able to repair the laptop, but once they took it apart the found an inexpensive way to get it working again. Great customer service, definitely recommend.

They were very helpful. They are probably more helpful than they would have been from a normal store. I think the price is a little bit better.

The experience was great from first phone call to pick up of my Macbook. Extremely professional. Repairs were done in 24 hours. Did not try to sell me additional upgrades which weren't yet needed. Honest about what I may consider down the road. All around, an excellent experience.

When I have needed any type of Macintosh work, they have done a good job.

I brought my dead Macbook to them--they replaced the internal hard drive which made it functional again, but i had lost 2 years worth of photos which were on the old hard drive. They offered to try to retrieve the data on the old hard drive--no charge if unsuccessful, up to a max of $275 if successful. They called me back within 3 hours--and got EVERYTHING reinstalled on my computer by the end of that business day! Overall a great experience.

We brought the computer to them and the next day they called to tell us it was fixed, that a simple internal reset was needed. We went to pick it up and requested they boot it up before we leave. The computer was still not functioning. We had to leave it for few more days for another diagnostic. They had to research and locate a power supply (outdated model). Now the computer works just fine.

I called the Computer Loft and they were very helpful over the phone even though I wasn't a paying customer. I have called them a few times now and I will definitely use them in the future.

THEY DEFRAGMENTED MY HARD DRIVE, A BIT PERIPHERAL TO MY PROBLEM, SO I CALLED THEM UP AND ASKED THEM WHY I WAS PAYING FOR THIS, AND THEY GAVE ME A COGENT REASON TO HAVE DONE SO. THEY WERE FRIENDLY EVEN WHEN I WAS A BIT ACERBIC WITH THEM. GOOD WORK, NICE PEOPLE.

WE HAVE NOT HAD ANY BAD EXPERIENCES WITH THEM IN THE PAST TWO YEARS. THEY WILL ALWAYS ADVISE US WHEN WE ARE NOT SURE ABOUT SOMETHING.
