Description of Work: Beware - Upon paying Angie's List the special $25 price, we had a couple of confusing emails that led to our having to register on the ArcBazar website, spend the time to fill out their form, upload information and only then discover that there is an additional change to "award the winning design." This was not what we thought we had purchased. We went ahead and offered $100 for a concept, then heard back they wanted at least $200 to put the project out. When we complained, they did promptly agree to refund the $100. We also got our $25 back from Angie's List, so in the end, we just lost the time invested based on their unclear description of how the process really works. This is a form of bait and switch, in our opinion.

Dear Member, We are sorry for the confusion regarding the “Storefront” coupon. The $25 coupon covers up to a $100 of our service fee -- which is the fee we normally charge on executing projects on Arcbazar. It does not cover the award money that goes to the top three winning designers at the end of the competition. As you can imagine, we cannot pay for designers out of our own pocket, but can only waive the service fee we receive from clients. Again, we are sorry for the misunderstanding, and we will take proper actions with Angie’s List to make sure that this fact is made clearer in the description of the offer. We will also add the minimum competition awards (which is currently available on Arcbazar’s upload pages) to the offer description. Having said that, we are a MIT VMS affiliated start-up company, which is a ventureship mentoring program for MIT students, faculty and alumni. We try to offer an alternative and innovative way for clients to get architectural design services, and as such, exploiting any client would be counterproductive and is absolutely unacceptable. We are not making any profit, and revenue is not our primary motivation at this point. Our main goal is to get traction, prove the concept that crowdsourcing can work for architectural design projects --and at the same time is scalable. We do appreciate your feedback though, and hope that it will help us improving our system for the better. We are constantly learning from our experiences, mistakes and errors, and through the process hope to optimize our system.
