Very well! We have used Mahan Slate roofing for about 10 years now to maintain and repair our unusual slate roof. They are unbelievably helpful and have been very responsive when we have had small leaks and worked hard to prevent larger problems. Their regular maintenance services are money savers for us. The owners are a pleasure to deal with. Highly recommend!

The work went extremely well, from the first visit to diagnose the problems to the actual job, performed a few weeks later. David Mahan knows exactly what he's doing, and he's a very pleasant person to deal with.

One of the owners came over and checked the roof. A few days later an estimate was received. It took a bit longer to get the work done. But it was eventually completed within one day and we are very happy with the results so far. They did a major work a couple years ago involving copper and slate and we have been happy with that one as well

What a great experience! We initially got an estimate 6 months ago before we bought our house, and when we emailed to get a new estimate, David came out ASAP. He was very informative and very passionate and interested in what he does (which is hard to find). We got an updated estimate within 48 hours and called to schedule. 10 days later, the work was completed. The gentlemen who did the work we're great, very quick and cleaned up after themselves. And even offered to help me bring in the groceries. Will absolutely use again!

This team did an exceptional job taking great care to protect the house during these major repairs. They installed heavyweight scaffolding and practiced very safe work habits. The crew ranged from 3 to 6 men and all were very professional in their approach to this work. Some of their repairs were performed in very hot - 100 degree days. They worked on these days even under these severe weather conditions. They started early each day and worked a full day to complete this work in about 30 days - which was outstanding given the scope of work they had to perform. The neighbors on our street were also very complementary of the quality of the work and the professionalism of the team that did the work. The roof now looks outstanding and I am confident if any issues do arise they will be very fast to respond.

The project, once started, went very smoothly. When I first contacted the company in the summer of 2011, they were filled with jobs through the season, but Jack, the owner, kept my information so when I called in August of this year, they fit me in during the fall season. They are a very busy company because they have an excellent reputation and are one of the few companies that specializes in slate and copper and are capable of handling large jobs, such as slate-roof buildings at the local colleges. While I was looking for contractors, I found that few companies had the specialized expertise we wanted and not many companies really knew how to handle a slate and copper job as large as ours. A reliable slate-repair person we have used over the years for small repair jobs, recommended that this time we hire one of the better companies that specialized in slate because after 20 years we needed basic repairs to the structure of the back. I am very glad that we took this advice even though it meant waiting through an additional season. Jack Mahon and his crew (including his son) were great to deal with. Jack took the extra time to assess the over conditions of the roof, gutters, and house, giving us excellent advice about tackling ice dams, inside leaks, icicles, and heat loss through the roof. I feel confident that we have made a major improvement to the roof/gutters and a significant upgrade to our home that will last for many decades, hopefully ending our perennial struggle with leaks from ice dams, giant icicles, and falling frozen gutters. This was worth the expense.

Jack and his employees are fabulous - professional, courteous, they return calls and perform good work. For my most recent work we had to have the power lines dropped by the electric company for the roof work, and Jack called me that evening to make sure the power wasn't off too long and everything was OK. I'd recommend them to anyone who needs slate work. We got numerous quotes when moving into a new house and Mahan's was on par with others, but their responsiveness and quality of work leave them head and shoulders above anyone else.
