The Kitchen Works

We had a decent size Kitchen expansion project, and went to this firm because they were the company who put in the original cabinets when the house we just bought was built two years ago. After several visits, and calls, to Kitchen Works, it became a repeated chase to get them to follow up, and even an e-mail to manager & President of Concord Lumber, (who owns them) voicing my displeasure I how long it was taking to get a quote. They finally did respond after my email to the president, but it took over a month to finally get the quote, which was then incomplete and had design questions/issues that now arose and unanswered. So I contacted my sales person, with those questions, and never got a response back to date. Also I thought it odd that they ever bother to even follow up with me by phone on the quote they'd did sent. Their lack of communications, non-responsiveness, lack of timeliness and follow-up caused us to "lose all confidence" in buying cabinets and hiring them to do our project! As a customer, I simply refuse to "chase any company" in order to earn my business! Especially when I clearly was about to spend serious thousands of dollars on a kitchen! -- Instead we went with another kitchen design firm who sold us the same brand cabinets, and who was eager to help. Instead of waiting a month to get a quote, we got one in just two days, and the job was then done quickly to our satisfaction! But Kitchen Works totally dropped the ball here, and they just acted like they did NOT want our business! How a company can operate that way is beyond me, but it is what happened to us!

Started well. Picked out kitchen counter; ordered and received window sills. They were delayed a couple of times, but all in all, no complaints. But the sales person "forgot" to order the misc. shelves and then delayed that order as well. After we finally received them, I ordered the kitchen counter from a different vendor as by now I felt that I could not rely on KW any more. Contractor just called; the shelves we received are useless; cut poorly and backing that is deteriorating. Contractor tried to contact, but has not received a call back. Had to order from a different vendor again, paying twice for same items.

We had the opportunity to work with Kitchen Works last year when we renovated our home. The experience was wonderful. They are very knowledgeable about design issues and went with us step by step through the process so as to achieve the optimal design for our space. They were very responsible about keeping us updated about the project and seeing every detail through to the end. We found all the staff to be friendly and helpful. The kitchen turned out beautifully and we have really enjoyed using it. I would not hesitate to recommend Kitchen Works to anyone who wants a beautiful kitchen for a reasonable price.

we met with jim forsaith to discuss renovation of our small (11' x 10') kitchen, settling on a cabinet line and granite counter, and left behind a floor plan for a phone quote. seemed to go fine. a week later, we'd not received a quote, so called to check in. jim said 'quite frankly' he had too much other work and did not want the job. fair enough, but more professional not to leave us hanging.

I had the pleasure of working with Jim Forsaith on my kitchen design and layout. We purchased Decora kitchen cabinets that were of superior quality compared to Lowe's and Home Depot. Kraftsmaid cabinets at Lowe's even after all the discounts were actually more expensive. Besides the price, my wife and I were treated with the uttermost professionalism. Jim came to our house, measured our kitchen and provided us with a design that was exactly what we were looking for. Jim was very knowledgable and the experience could not have been better. I highly recommend Kitchen works.

We were set up with one of their sales reps who worked exclusively with us through the whole process on design of the kitchen layout and selection of materials for our kitchen renovation. With only a couple minor exceptions (for which we share responsibility) all details worked out very well and met our expectations. Overall they did an excellent job and we would strongly recommend them to others.
