They did a fantastic job surveying my lot line and placing stakes in the ground. I have to hire them again stake the same lot area because my neighbor pulled the stakes out on purpose.

Not great. During initial call (Sept '21), I asked for property line markers with my topographic plan survey. I signed a contract and paid a deposit (Sept '21). I did not understand everything in the contract and not feeling comfortable asking. I trusted they listened to my needs. I called a few times requesting a call before they came over and asked how markers would be put into the ground in winter. I received a "we have ways" answer. They arrived unannounced on a day I was not there (Jan '22). No property lines were marked. I received the invoice (Feb '22) before I received the plans. I emailed questioning when I would receive the plan and property markers. I was told the "stake out" was not included in contract and it would cost extra. If a client asks for property line markers, the professional should include it or explain that it is not included in a term someone outside of the industry would understand. From my experience, this is not a company that works well with general public who are not trained in this field. Using them was a costly mistake I hope others can avoid.

I gave them a passing rating because they did come out and do the job. They quoted me $800-$1000. Final bill came out to a little over $1150. I don't understand how you can quote a range and not honor the range you quote. I called and questioned the bill being over 15% higher than the max quoted. I was told some time was put in before they came out doing who knows what. Then they said a lack of markers and heavy vegetation was the reason for the higher charge. Clearly none of that time spent before coming out was not looking at Google maps to see on satellite and street views that two sides of my property is woods. I also wouldn't be calling someone out to survey the land to mark the property lines if there were markers... I feel they should have honored the quote and billed me the max of $1000 and write off the rest of the time, but they refused. I would not recommend them to anyone looking for a land surveyor.

I heard initially from the president who said he would have a proposal within a few days. I followed up a week later and asked if he were still going to submit a proposal. I never heard another word

Mr. [Member Name Removed], We deeply apologize for this. It seems your request fell through the cracks due to these busy and confusing times. We sincerely hope that you found another Professional Land Surveyor to meet your needs in the meantime.

They quickly responded to our request for a quote, and when we were ready they were helpful in getting the survey scheduled quickly. We found them to be responsive and professional through the whole process. We had them mark the corners of the lot, which was not required, but we wanted -- that was an extra cost well worth it.

Great. Surveyor called when he finished to explain the stakes. When I got home from work the stakes were all placed and understandable.

This job went well. I called Joe March on 4/6/13 and received a proposal and estimate on 4/9. His was the lowest of several. I asked several questions via email and Joe responded to all of them immediately. I hired the firm on April 15, and the job was completed on May 9th by a very nice surveyor who spent several hours on my land and the surrounding neighborhood. I was completely satisfied.
Description of Work: Located and staked the four corners of my lot, and provided a "sketch-of-stakeout" on the plot plan.

Unfortunately, I can't speak to the quality of their actual work. I requested a quote to mark our property boundaries before having our fence replaced. No permit was required so it was just for our reference. I have a very small lot (approx tenth of an acre), it's rectangular and there's nothing crazy about it (you don't have to trek through the woods, etc). I received an email that they would look up my property and have a proposal to me by the end of the day. 7am the next day, I emailed to check in because I had not received a proposal. 2:30pm that afternoon, I got a proposal that listed a range of $600 - $1200 with no apology for the extra day and no explanation of the extremely large range. For $600, I would have hired them but the possibility of it costing $1200 with no details was unacceptable. Additionally, my name was spelled wrong, the completion date was estimated to be 3 weeks from acceptance of the proposal and to get a plot plan showing the proposed fence was an additional $200. Given that it took an extra day for the proposal, I was hoping for something more specific. If it had been a $100 range or even maybe $200, I would have considered it but by the time I received this proposal, I already had a fixed price set up with another company and they were willing to come out the next day to do the work.

Professional company, and quick response. Glad to have them honestly state they were too far away, and tell me to go with someone local, instead of trying to take the job, and bill me extra for travel, etc.
Description of Work: Emailed company to see if they would want to give us quote for land surveying. I wasn't sure how far Acton (their company) was from Canton (my house), so decided just to email them anyway. Very quick response back by email, stating that they felt Acton was too far, and instead recommended a local company who had actually done our subdivision plan 40 years ago (which I wasn't aware of). This meant that even though Bill wasn't taking the job, he had taken the time to look up information about my property on-line to try to provide a helpful answer. Very nice.

Unfortunately they felt they could not adequately provide me with plot plan quote due to the lack of information available. However, what I liked is they were upfront about it, didn't beat around the bush and came out and said 'We can't do it'. Then, he referred me to another professional who could do the work. You don't see that level of professionalism too often. I gave them a B overall because we couldn't do business, but thanks for being straight.
Description of Work: Asked them for a quote for a plot plan. They did some research and got back to me in a reasonable amount of time.

I asked Stamski and McNary for information and a quote on a plot plan via email. Bill McNary responded with a quote for the required services within 24 hours and explained what it is likely to be necessary and what other services I might want. After consulting with the building inspector, I came to the conclusion that I did not need the plot plan at this time. The response from Stamski and McNary was rapid, complete, and at a good price point. If I do need surveying service, I will inquire here first.
Description of Work: I asked Stamski and McNary for information and a quote on a plot plan via email because I'd like to expand my existing deck into a screen porch and I need to know my property line in the rear of my house.

Very well. Initially the company was hard to contract with as they didn't return phone calls when I left messages. Once I spoke with them, they sent along a professional proposal for the contracted work, and did the work on a time and materials basis with an estimate for the total cost. It did take them a while both to send the contract and to do the work, but that was fine with us as we were in no hurry, and in fact had requested they do the work on days convenient for surveying. The work done was very professional with the stakes clearly visible and the corners marked with iron bars as needed. The contract was ambiguous about whether they would stake the town line between the two lots, but they were kind enough to return and stake that line as well at no added cost. The price did go a bit higher than their upper estimate, but it was within reason. Overall, their price was still less than other estimates I received. I would recommend them to anyone needing survey work.
