Dawn and her team did an amazing job. The first step was working with Cheryl on the CAD Design. This was so helpful for us to really visualize how we wanted our new kitchen to look. Cheryl was an expert when it came to using the software and it was fun to play around with the design to get it just how we wanted it. Dawn is always ready to help when you are stuck making tough decisions. She has many great ideas and is always willing to pull samples and send ideas via pictures. I am a visual person and I need to see things before I make a decision. She has many samples and great relationships with the counter fabricator and stone supplier. Dawn has a great team, which includes the installer Dave. It is hard to have someone in your home for 3 months. Dave was always a pleasure to deal with. My kids enjoyed bothering him and watching him work. He is a true craftsman and can do anything from tile to appliance install. What an asset to have. This kitchen was a big project and Dawn's organization kept us on track as they manage all the subs and keeps everyone on task. We love our new kitchen and are so happy we chose Great Spaces. I would recommend them to anyone that has a job large or small. You will not be disappointed. Tricia Hashem, Boxborough

I loved working with Dawn for our kitchen renovation, and I would highly recommend her. She has a natural talent for design, and all of her advice regarding the aesthetics was excellent. Not only does she have a good eye for design, but she also has a deep knowledge of the structural aspect of renovations which was extremely helpful. She guided us through decisions on all of the large and small details, while maintaining an efficient, responsive and organized working style.

When we decided to have our kitchen remodeled this past summer, we took the advice of two of our neighbors and contacted Dawn Willis at Great Spaces to help with the design. We originally thought we knew what we wanted and hesitated to call her thinking that we could handle the process ourselves. After working with Dawn Willis a short time, it was clear that her help would result in a far better kitchen product than if we had left the design to ourselves. In addition to her overall design work, there were three specific times when we could not decide what we wanted to do with a specific important aspect of the design. All three times, after spending an hour discussing the subject with her, we came away with a clear picture of what we wanted. Her CAD work was instrumental in helping us visualize both an overall concept as well as a specific floor plan. She was able to show us several options that would not have been as clear to us simply just talking about them. The plan she helped design became a reality and we are very happy with the results. Some of the many things we like about our new kitchen follow: · the overall design; · the quality of the cabinets; · the location of all the cabinets; · the design and location of the island; · the internal design and location of the pantry cabinet; · the additional 3? of height of the wall cabinets; · the spice drawer; · the double waste and recycling unit; · the spring-loaded mixer unit; · the base and wall cabinets between the incoming door and stairway we use for mail/phone/radio/miscellaneous things to keep out of sight; · the appliance garage; · the recessed bottoms of the wall cabinets which conceal the LED lighting; · the extended countertop by the back deck door; · the island with its eating area; and · the exact spacing on each side of the cabinets which provide equal spaces to windows and moldings. Additionally, we are pleased with such things as: · the additional electrical outlets and their placements; · the location of the LED lights; · the location of switches for both interior and exterior lighting; · the spacious double kitchen sink; · the movement activated kitchen faucet; · the two-tone color of the walls; · the placement of the new outside door to the deck replacing a window; · the Armstrong tiles which are easy on the feet/knees and much warmer than ceramic tile; and · the quartz countertops (although we would have like just a little more design). It is obvious that there is a lot we like about our new kitchen. Much of that credit goes to Dawn Willis at Great Spaces for her personal and expertise service. Her designs were masterfully carried out by: · M & M Construction - Brian Griffin ? overall construction ( Boxborough) · Rogan Electric - Tom Rogan ? electrical work (Acton) · Flannery Plumbing & Heating - Rich Flannery ? plumbing work (Acton) · Beacon Painting ? Ed Norris (Stow) · Northeast Flooring (Littleton) We have recommended Dawn Willis at Great Spaces for her services to several friends and will continue to do that. We know that others will be as satisfied with her services as we have been. Mac & Beth Reid

We understand how frustrating the remodeling process can be under the best of circumstances. In your case this was definitely compounded by truly unexpected issues and a scope that spread to every room of your home. We apologize that it did take longer than we originally estimated, as a result of those issues. Our goal for every project we take on, is to leave the client with a space that they feel good about. Now that the dust has settled, we hope, that you are enjoying your beautiful and completely transformed home. Lastly, please know you can reach out to us directly if you have future concerns with any of the materials or services we provided. Dawn and the team at Great Spaces

My house was built in 1970 and I wanted to merge some of the character of that style with the functionality of the new. Dawn was very helpful at working with that. I kept my old shelves (the top part of my kitchen) and got new cabinets that function in a way that takes care of all of my needs. In addition, it is so great to have drawers that open and shelves that slide, and places for every type of utensil. Because I am a senior citizen, I wanted to have my washer and dryer placed in my kitchen, and I cannot believe how fabulous that turned out. No one would ever know that there was a washer/dryer in my kitchen; it looks like a hutch with a higher than normal counter which has worked out great, too. It's just the right height to bake things and I'm able to put my coffee pot, tea kettle, and microwave -- which all fit beautifully underneath that hutch/counter. The reason I felt it was so important to have Dawn's expertise to work with -- until you start this process, I don't think you realize how many decisions need to be made. For me, if I didn't have someone who could explain and hold my hand, the process would have been very daunting. I highly recommend not only her expertise, but I am very happy with all of the products, and the fact that I have a truly customized kitchen that meets our needs.

We thoroughly enjoyed working with Dawn Willis and her team at Great Spaces. Dawn was able to creatively look at our bathroom space and design it in a way that fit our style and function needs. She quickly understood what we liked and zoned in on that. We found her staff to be helpful and their skill sets were complimentary to each other. The contractors Dawn hired were friendly and easy to work with and we never worried about having them in our home when we were out. Dawn was always easy to reach when we had questions or concerns during the remodeling process. Our only con was that the project took a little longer than expected and the price came in a bit higher than the original SOV. Overall we are thrilled with the outcome and would hire Great Spaces for another project.
Description of Work: Renovated our Master bathroom and updated another full bathroom and a powder room.

We were renovating our guest bath and planned to put in a double sink cabinet with linen closet. Having been inspired by a photo of a bathroom in Houzz, I searched high and low for solid maple cabinets with wide rail shaker doors, solid wood door parts (no veneer). I visited the big box stores (Lowes, HomeDepot) and another highly rated kitchen cabinet provider from Angies List (in Woburn). I almost bought at Lowes but determined that the quality would not be the same as the showcase model. I had a terrible, rude experience with the Woburn kitchen cabinet place - name withheld - I was shocked that they had such high ratings - I would never return there. I started calling around to smaller places from Angies List. I finally found Great Spaces in Acton. Dawn was warm, friendly, and professional on the phone. She said she could meet me on short notice which I really appreciated as we were on a tight schedule with the contractor. Her showroom was small but the space was beautifully set up and showed many options. I loved that the quality was so high with beautiful workmanship. There is no comparison with the big box stores, and the quality was as good or higher than any of the cabinets in the kitchen cabinet store I visited in Woburn. Dawn gave us top-notch personal service even though we were buying only the cabinets and not the installation (because we already had a contractor). Cabinets were ordered and delivered on schedule. One item (crown molding) did not arrive with the cabinets but Dawn fixed that right away, and it arrived a few days later. When the contractor installed the cabinets, we realized the floor wasn't level and the 4" toe kick would not suffice, we needed a 6" toe kick. We paid for the new part which was then ordered. We did have some difficulty with the cabinet maker sending the right part (they sent us a 4" toe kick again). Dawn kept on it and the right part finally got delivered. We were very impressed by Dawn's professionalism, quick return calls or texts, problem solving ability, and follow through on any issues that came up. She was happy to talk on the phone and never made me feel that the project was small and unimportant. I knew she had large renovation projects on going on. She clearly loves her work and strives to make each of her clients happy with every interaction. Our bathroom looks fabulous (after many issues with our contractor - that's for another review!). Cabinets are beautifully made, hardware is superior, everything fits perfectly (after normal adjustments). We couldn't be happier with the quality and look. I would highly recommend Dawn for a bath or kitchen remodel, from start to finish. We will go to her for our next renovation. If you want high quality and no drama, go to Great Spaces. We were well taken care of.

The cost here turn out way higher than I wanted, $6500 for eight cabinets, with moldings, before the $2000 installation fees. I did not get ANY extra's like roll out shelves. That works out so more than $1000 per cabinet installed. In the end I wish I'd gone to Lowe's or HD and just gotten Kraftmaid and saved a few thousand. The cabinets are good quality, though not without issues, like peeling veneer in a few places. And this sight says Great Spaces does small jobs, but I sort of got some flack from Dawn when I ordered only $5500 worth of cabinets initially, she said she had a $15,000 minimum, which I was not told at the beginning. I came thru a recommendation so she took me on, but I definitely got the feeling that I was small fry for her. We did have some miscommunication over a few things, and I was sent the wrong product once, so there were issues. I would say if you have a $50k budget or above she might be great for you, but if you are trying to work on a smaller budget like me, not so much.
Description of Work: I purchased 8 cabinets thru Dawn at Great Spaces. She was helpful as I was renovating my small kitchen on my own without a general contractor and I wanted assurance that someone professional was going to help measure, and design the cabinet layout and stand behind the product. So she did a good job of helping and was responsive and professional. Thank you Dawn. The downside is that the cabinets turned out very expensive when everything was included.

Thank you for your comments on our professionalism and responsiveness. We enjoyed seeing your space transform into the modern vision you had for it. We are so sorry, to hear, that you got the impression that your job was not big enough for us or that you went outside your budget. No job is too small for us. We particularly enjoy the small jobs for the increased creativity they can require. Great Spaces has absolutely no minimum purchase requirements. We do have a retainer fee when design and Cad services are required. This fee is customary with design firms. It covers the upfront time and knowledge given to your project. It is important to us that you are satisfied. Your product is completely warrantied, if anything is not as it should be, please don't hesitate to reach out to us directly.
