It cost quite a bit more than expected, and not worth it for the price of the fridge.

As this occurred so close to the holidays, I nearly forgot to enter a review. Rectifying that now... Both my microwave and my oven experienced failures in the two weeks before Christmas. I decided to try a new local appliance repair place instead of a more "corporate" Sears' service and called Peter at Bright Appliance. He fit me into his schedule and came to diagnose both issues. Parts were needed to fix both appliances and were replaced (1 part for the microwave and 2 parts for the stove, which is why the price might seem higher than expected). Both appliances were repaired before Christmas. Now, I would expect an appliance repair person to know how to do this, so I wasn't surprised that he got it right. What surprised me was the above-and-beyond quality of my experience with Peter. First, I work nearly an hour from my home, so Peter worked with me to find times that worked for us both and always arrived when he said he would. This kept me from having to get permission to work from home in the busy time before the holidays and was a huge convenience to me. And he did this close to the holidays when things are so very hectic for him as well. He was also very candid in his appraisal of whether it made more sense to repair or replace (he suggested repair due to the cost of the appliances). He was honest and fair. And I felt comfortable having him in my home. Finally, he went the extra mile of explaining to me how I could make better use of my oven's convection capabilities, which I would never have expected, but it made a world of difference to me and has changed my baking. I would highly recommend Bright Appliance to anyone looking for a reliable, human service interaction and would hire Peter again in a heartbeat.

We have used Pete Bright for all our appliance repairs for the past 10+ years. We have a 25 year old sub zero that annually gave us trouble whenever it got really hot outside. Pete saved us from having to replace this costly appliance for years. Pete has also repaired our washing machine over the years. He is always prompt, courteous, and efficient in his work. He quickly schedules appointments, often the same day. I have shared his name with many friends in town and his is now their go to appliance fix it guy. Pete is the guy you want to call when you need your appliances fixed!

They came out the next day after scheduling the service. They were very courteous, timely, and respectful. Overall, it was a nice and easy experience.

When the door hinge broke on my washing machine, I was looking for a repair person nearby my home. Since we've had a lot of snow, I didn't want to call anyone too far away from my house (for fear they would not be able to get here). Fortunately, I found Bright Appliance nearby and Peter got back to me right away. I was surprised that Angie's List allows me to upload photos and I took advantage of this feature to send photos of the broken mechanism and the model/serial numbers on the machine. He immediately ordered the right part and came to install it as soon as he received it himself. Service was fast, clean and easy. We will definitely be calling them again.

Called Bright Appliance mid morning on a Friday as my fridge was not working properly. He was there within the hour. After checking the appliance, he confirmed my fear. Due to the fact that the fridge was older and the nature of the problem it would be best to purchase another one. The size needed would also be hard to replace. He said he'd look for a new one that would fit in the area i had. He contacted other dealers in the area and found one that had what i needed and had them contact me. The fridge was replaced on Monday.

We have had Bright Appliance, Peter Bright himself, do many appliance repairs and some replacements for us over the years. He is always professional, punctual and efficient and cost conscious.

I phoned Bright appliance, and received a call back within an hour. Peter seemed professional and polite. He came to my home, diagnosed the problem and agreed to come back when the parts arrived. He repaired the dishwashers and returned when one needed additional attention. After returning, Peter was able to help with a refrigerator that needed a thermostat. Through the entire time, I found Peter to be professional, knowledgable, honest, prompt and polite to the highest level. I feel absolutely comfortable recommending Peter and his company to any family or friends who may need this type of service.

On 7/16/12 we initially contacted Bright Appliance to diagnose and repair our dishwasher. He arrived on time and was very friendly. After his initial visit, he diagnosed that the touch control and console needed to be replaced. He then ordered the part, then told us he would need to come back and repair it after the part arrived. He called two days later and said the part hadn't arrived. He came back on Friday, repaired the first problem, but the dishwasher still wouldn't work and he assumed the replacement part was defective. Then he went on vacation for a week. Before he left for vacation he ordered another part. After returning from vacation, two days later, he shows up for his third visit and then figures out that he actually repaired the dishwasher on the second visit. Total time between initial visit and confirmed repair: two and a half weeks. Total cost: almost $500. We were under the impression the cost would be a lot less. The killer was that the materials were $245 but labor was $235. Technical service time (labor) was $150 and the charge for showing up was $85. I can't help but wonder if we had called another company that the problem would have been correctly diagnoses and labor would have been a lot less.

Very friendly and knowledgeable individual clearly focused on customer care and service. He wants to do a good job, and takes pride in both his work and the satisfaction of his customers. Would use him again in a minute...why? he cares not only about doing a good job, but about customer satisfaction and most importantly, like a true craftsman, takes pride in his work. Strongest possible recommendation.

He returned my initial call the same day, and we agreed that I would find out the make of the dryer. Once I left that information with him, he called me back within about a half hour, and offered to come by the same day, at a time of my convenience. Even though the dryer is 20 years old, he found the parts he needed in his truck, so only one visit was needed. He is very pleasant to deal with, and he gave my dad a break on the cost of the replacement parts. I would definitely call him again for other appliance repair jobs.

The overall experience was very positive. The dryer isf fixed. I will definitely recommend Bright Appliance to all my friends.

Peter gave me good advice over the phone, then ordered the parts. We schedule a tentative date for the repair. That morning the part did not come in yet but later in the day as soon as it came in he called and came to do the repair. He did an efficient and neat job, the range now was working. His bill was exactly what he told me it would be. In the breakdown of charges though I saw that there was both an $150 hourly charge and $85 service call charge. So the total labor charge was $235 for one hour of work. Although I think this is excessive, he did quote me the total charge over the phone and I agreed to it.So I really cannot complain about that.

Great. I will definitely use Bright Appliance again. He's responsive, prompt, courteous, and fair. What more can you ask for?

I called and within an hour Peter Bright was there to fix the frig. He had been here before and I was impressed with his professional service then so naturally I called him again. He balanced the refrigerator (put a shim under) and fixed the seal on the frig door and cleaned the condensor etc. and carefully explained to me how I can do that. He was very polite, efficient, and professional.

I called them and left a message and he responded to that message in 5 minutes, to which I was very impressed with. He was able to come within an hour and a half of my first call and it was wonderful. He kept me informed as the part was delivered a little later than expected. After he fixed the problem, I noticed that there still was a leak, so I called him the next day and he came in an hour to check it. He suggested certain things that I could do to fix it as it was a plumbing issue. He took his time to figure out the issue and he never charged a thing. He was very conscientious and he said that he always wanted to make sure that he did his job. Overall I was very pleased.

Clothes dryer has recently been taking very long to dry anything. Called Bright Appliance and they called back right away and could come within two days. Showed up as promised, found out it was not the dryer but the duct venting the dryer that was clogged with lint. Old flexible plastic vent now out of code so he replaced it with aluminum venting. Done within an hour and dryer working fine now.

I was able to address the issue over the phone at no charge.

They were very helpful. He told me how to get it running again for the weekend because he wasn't available until Tuesday. He was friendly knowledgeable and helpful. He also gave us advice on our washing machine that was making noise. He helped us out with what to do with the fridge when we moved.

I spoke to Peter on the telephone and described the problem. He was able to diagnose and pinpoint the location of the damage and came out the next day. When he got to my house, he was able to fix the machine within 40 minutes. He told me my washing machine was a good model and should last another 10 years.
