Speaking with them and setting up the appointment before the move went very smoothly. They were very helpful and dropped off boxes for us at our house. We did have to pay for the boxes. The scheduling went very smoothly. The day of the move went very, very well. They did an excellent job. There was a little more packing that they expected so the day ended up being a little longer than they had expected. Overall it went very well and we really didn't have any damage. Because of the extended time it was a little more than what we had expected but that was more our fault because we didn't have everything squared away and packed before they came so they had more packing to do than they had expected. They were on an hourly rate. Overall we were very pleased and happy with them. The three movers were very professional. I spoke with the owner, I think, when I was setting up the appointment and he was very helpful talking through how much we had and giving me a cost estimate. We did shop around to a number of other providers and were happy with the cost they were giving to us.

With less than 2 weeks' notice, John gave me a very competitive estimate for a fairly easy move (standalone furniture pieces and several boxes already packed). The details, including the specific timing for the move, were confirmed with me the day before the move. On moving day, the crew and truck showed up just about on-time for the 10 a.m. start in CT (with weekday morning traffic in both MA to CT being as variable as it can be, this was amazing). The crew (2 men) were professional, extremely capable, efficient, organized and friendly. I left the CT house a few minutes after the truck did, and arrived only a short while before they did at my house in MA. At the delivery end, the crew did a great job helping me organize the storage area (my garage) for the furniture and boxes that were not going inside, leaving me a clear footpath where I requested. At every turn, I was impressed with the process. My items were all delivered in perfect condition, and the job took less time than originally scheduled (I know I already said this, but they were VERY efficient while also being very CAREFUL with my items). The final price came in below the estimate, and (small but important detail), they were happy to work around my very friendly dog! I would recommend this company, and in particular the specific crew, to anyone, and will contact them again if I have moving needs in the future.

Mike and his crews were terrific. They showed up exactly on time with a very clean truck. They were no-nonsense and had tremendous hustle. They gave extreme care to all of our furniture, be it Ethan Allen or Ikea. Absolutely nothing was damaged, they did not scuff the walls or door frames, and they cleaned up the residual tape and packing material as they went. The guys were all extremely polite and friendly, and patient with our curious three-year old. Their time estimates were very close to what the actual time required. They also worked wonders making everything fit on the very full truck. We would definitely hire Bigfoot again if we needed to relocate.

This company told us that they could not complete an interstate move in one day, even though we were only moving from Boston to Hartford (less than two hours away). Because of the overnight storage they were requiring for a two-day move, their estimate was exceeded $3000. We ended up using another moving company that completed the move in one day (in eight hours), for $1400.

BRAVO to the Team of Movers who moved me back in May. I am enjoying my new home and I am very grateful to their good work that started me off on the right foot in a lifetime of more moves than I would have chosen. I know good Movers when I see them. It went great. I was very pleased with the 3 guys including one that found a $20.00 bill behind my dresser and gave it back to me. I would have never known. They were punctual, which is why I did not choose another mover as they showed up 1/2 late for the house estimate, no call and said there was traffic, coming from 4 miles away. While not the cheapest hourly rate out there, their extra added insurance offer was better than others I considered. No deductable and up to $10K for $100 compared to a $250 deductable for a specific item for $90. The item moving was worth $2800 that I wanted insured. They came in under the time estimate as we moved some of the items in the Wayland house originally in the quote before the move.

Extremely professional, very experienced. Everything went very smoothly. Highly recommend. Estimated job was 11 hours and came in slightly under this. Although not the least expensive estimate, they were well worth the added expense as they took great care with everything and inspired confidence.

Very well. They were responsive, professional, and jolly. I am eight months pregnant and we have a 2 year old. They could not have been more accommodating. They arrived on time and finished quickly which meant that they came in below the estimate.

The first time I called, I spoke to someone who confirmed that Big Foot could help me with my move. This person told me that Big Foot would provide me with a quote after coming to my place to see how much I had to move. I expressed surprise because I am moving to Boston from 100 miles away, but he said that this was the best way to do it and that "you can't tell anything by asking questions over the phone." All of the moving consultants were busy, though, and he said one would call me back the next day. I told this guy that I was moving from a house to a condo, and I told him the address of each. The next morning John Fantasia called me. He confirmed the addresses of my NH and MA addresses. He then speculated that the move might take two days. I expressed surprise and told him that it had been done in less than a day when I moved between the same two addresses in 2008. He said that might be possible, and then he told me that he would send me a quote the next day. I was really confused, because he not only didn't suggest coming up to see my place, but he didn't even ask me any questions about how much stuff I have. He didn't have any idea whether my house was a 5br or a studio, whether my condo was first floor or a fifth floor walkup, or whether I had an extensive library of heavy books. When he emailed me a quote, it was for $3000. The original move up here cost $1200. I called John to ask him how he arrived at his quote. He told me that he had allowed for five hours of drive time, which was fine. But when I asked him how he'd figured out the move time, he said he'd based on it on the details of my home. I reminded him that I hadn't provided any, and he objected that I had told him it was a 1br (absolutely false, and it is not). He then corrected himself and said it was a condo -- true, the place I am going is a condo, but that's hardly enough information for a quote. John reassured me that if the move took less time than he had quoted the cost would be lower, but at this point I had lost all confidence in Big Foot. I felt that I had no idea how much their services would cost me, and they didn't seem to have any interest in helping me figure it out.

They do state to state moving but they subcontract for now. They are looking to expand to state to state moving in the future. They were punctual and offered a great service.

Except for the price, which was a bit higher than the lowest bidder, the process went well. I spoke to Mike on the phone to tell him that although we were pleased with the offer, his price was a bit higher than others.

They were very good. They came one day and packed almost everything and the next day they moved me. When we got here it took them a long time to bring up the first load, it turned out that the power had gone out in the building so the elevators weren't working and they were carrying everything upstairs. They were prepared to lug everything upstairs. They were not the lowest bidder but they made the best impression on me. I was very pleased and I would recommend them to anybody. I would give them A's on everything.

I thought they were wonderful. They took care of everything and we had no worries about things being broken. They were just perfect and they did everything just right.

They were punctual, very efficient and very concerned about making sure that nothing got damaged or broken.

Mostly, I was super impressed by them. Very courteous on the phone and accommodating about coming over to give a quote. Got back to us very quickly, dropped off boxes when they said they would, made everything very clear. I had two problems. First the boxes they sell you seem super expensive. Maybe that's the norm, but it doesn't seem right. It bothered me especially because they won't buy back your boxes, but a dozen or so of the boxes they sold me were clearly used. The second problem is that they did shoddy work reassembling our beds. One bed they just hadn't attached certain screws and it fell apart the next week. On a second set of beds, they confused which piece goes with which in a way that made it impossible to insert a railing until I reassembled it all again. They were willing to come back to correct these problems at no cost.

They were just movers and didn?t do the packing. They were very professional and were experienced. We didn?t have any damages. We have used them once before as well and would use them again in future.

Everything went fine --- well coordinated and they kept to schedule. Couple of small things broken, but they resolved the issues straight away.

Went really well. Jim came out and gave me an estimate a few weeks before. The day before the move I called to confirm and Jim called me back within a few hours. I also mentioned I had a bunch of prints I'd need help packing up and he said it wouldn't be a problem. The two movers (Andy & Scott) showed up a few minutes late but basically on time, and got right to work. They packed everything up including all my framed prints, and placed everything exactly where I asked them too. They were friendly and very professional. Everything made it to my new place in the same condition it left my old place. They are a little on the expensive side, the move took longer then the estimate so it cost more then I expected, but you get what you pay for and I'd definitely use them again.

They were great! They gave a very competitive and thorough estimate; they pulled the permit and posted it in a timely fashion; they called the day before the move to be sure all the details were accurate; they showed up when they said they would; the movers themselves were very polite, professional young men; they got the job done quickly and smoothly. I will use this company again.

BigFoot claims to offer 245 cubic feet of storage for $65 per month. Those are actually the OUTSIDE dimensions of the wooden crate that they like to call a "vault". The INSIDE storage space turns out to be only about 216 cubic feet. Call most any self storage facility, even in Boston proper, and you can get 600 cubic feet of storage for about $70. BigFoot wanted to charge me every time I wanted to access my stuff or even to just see my property, so you might as well go to a self storage facility where you get an access code and a key and you can get at your stuff as often as you like for no additional charge. BigFoot claims to offer a discount to Angie's List customers but there are lots of undisclosed terms that you must meet in order to get this discount.

I have had storage with Big Foot for over a year now and have had no issues what so ever. My decision to store at the Arlington warehouse was hands down the easiest to make. The facility is clean as a whistle and the storage pods are spacious. I feel completely confident that my items are extremely secure. I have also used Big Foot moving services 2 times in the past 3 years and they have been wonderful. I have moved many times in my life (at least 15) and I have never encountered such a respectful staff of movers. My personal items and furniture were taken care of perfectly! My china was packed and unpacked beautifully. When I wanted my heaviest piece of furniture moved 3 different times to fit the ?right wall?, Byron and his staff did not even bat an eye. Both moves were the most successful I have experienced to date.

We had a positively wonderful experience working with Big Foot Moving & Storage. From the on site estimate with the very personable owner Mike, to our large move with his excellent and courteous staff, my husband & I would never have been able to do it with out them?..especially with a 3 month old and dog at home as well! We had a very tricky closing time on the home we were moving out of and the new home we purchased, but BFM&S reassured us that our ?life? would be safe in their hands. We moved out on a Thursday, closed on both properties on Friday and moved into our new home on Saturday morning. BFM&S did a 2 night (overnight) hold with 2 completely full trucks and then delivered our items 1st thing Saturday morning. Our furniture was meticulously cared for and wrapped properly as was our large art collection. We were also very impressed with the Big Foot Storage facility in Arlington. Upon arrival to pick up additional boxes and moving essentials, I could not believe how clean the storage warehouse was! Although we were able to store all our items at the new home, I would have no issues with my furniture or belongings being stored in their immaculate and sound warehouse vaults. I would highly recommend Big Foot and I will continue to sing their praises to fellow co-workers and friends. I have no doubt that they are the best moving company in the Boston metro area.
