Description of Work: I needed two nests on opposite sides of the house taken cared of quickly as painters were in the midst of painting. Bee busters showed up in one hour and sprayed. 45 minute job for $680 / 2 nests. Employees were young... maybe early twenties. Not sure what their experience is. 2ND nest not totally killed one week later. Painters had to deal with it a week later.

Description of Work: Sprayed wasp's nest built into railroad tie wall. Wasps were killed and did not return. I was very satisfied with the work performed. In fact I hired them back a year later to take care of another nest in a different part of my yard.

Description of Work: Handled an invasion of yellowjackets which had gotten inside a wall and were getting into the house in large numbers. Sealed up the areas were they were getting into the house, then went outside and applied insecticide which the yellowjackets carried into the nest which was extinct in 48 hours. Explained a lot about the insects' behavior and why he dealt with them in the manner he did. After treatment there were a few stragglers in the house for several days which was exactly as he told us it would be. After that there were no further yellowjackets in the house. If you have a similar problem I'd suggest you call Bee Busters rather than try to deal with it on your own. I ended up making the problem worse by trying to seal the entrance to their nest and thus forcing them into the house.

They were able to get rid of the yellow jackets that I had in my house and I was very grateful. They were very good and very neat. They were responsive to my calls and all I have to say is good things about them.

+ -1 moreThe treatment seemed to work as promised. No more yellow jackets, aside from lots of dead ones to vacuum up. After a week or so, the outside nest seemed to get really large and we were not comfortable trying to treat it ourselves, so we called Bee Busters back. Dale came out as scheduled and applied the powder to the nest. He was about to charge me $225 (I had the coupon this time) and when I asked why it wasn't $125 like it was when he was there two weeks prior, he said it was because the service would have been bundled in with the other $500. But without me even questioning him, he said he'd only charge me $125 ($100 after the coupon) because it had only been a couple weeks since he was there. He didn't have to do that, but I really did appreciate it. We have lived in our house for more than 8 years and have never had a problem with yellow jackets before. It seems we hit the jack pot this year. I just hope it doesn't happen again soon. I know I can rely on Bee Busters, but man, it's expensive!
Description of Work: We had two yellow jacket nests in the foundation of our house. One was outside of our garage (one of the yellow jackets had stung my neighbor!). The other was on on the exterior of the house and the yellow jackets had found their way into our unfinished basement. We also had a rather large nest in the ground, in the back yard. After having to duck for cover while trying to do laundry in the basement one Saturday morning, I decided it was time to have something done about this. My husband and I, thankfully, did a little research and realized it was not wise to try to spray the yellow jackets ourselves. So, we called Bee Busters. They are based in our town and I'm always happy to give business to locals. I called on a Saturday morning and got the answering service. I expected to get a call back quickly, but it was a few hours and I never got a call. So, I called again and mentioned to the answering service that no one had called back. Very soon after the second call, I received a call from Mary Wilson, one of the owners. She apologized for not returning my call sooner - there was a mix-up (they thought I was someone else). Anyhow, I explained the problem to Mary and she took the time to explain how the yellow jackets nest and behave, etc., and possible treatment options. Since the bees were not getting into our main living space, we scheduled treatment for the following Wednesday. That Wednesday, Dale Wilson, the other proprietor, called to tell me when he was coming. He took the time to inspect the problem areas and gave us a couple options and told us how much it would cost. He also gave us some recommendations on how to try to treat the outside nest ourselves if we wanted to, to save money. We agreed on a treatment plan and Dale went to work. He used some kind of powder to kill the yellow jackets. He was at our house for probably less than an hour. After he finished, he explained what we should expect with remaining activity and told us to call him back if we still saw activity after 2 days. We opted to try to treat the outside nest ourselves (and save $125). The services performed cost $500, which we thought was pretty steep, but we figured, they know what they are doing and what else can you do when you have yellow jackets? I discovered after the fact that they have a $25-off coupon on their website.

+ -1 moreDale did an inspection of the house windows and found more nests developing in window frames on the sunny side of the house, which he pointed out to me. He cleaned out all of the "cocoons" and dry grass and left a non-toxic chemical behind for good measure. The whole process took about an hour. The charge was $325 for the first window and $25 for each additional window that needed cleaning and treatment. The work is guaranteed through December 31, 2011.
Description of Work: We suspected a developing nest when we noticed wasps or hornets carrying dry grass to my daughter's bedroom window frame. I called Bee Busters to investigate. Mary was courteous and helpful, and Dale was at my home the very next day.

+ -1 moreThey were very responsive - the only company in the area that I could find that was able to handle the 3rd floor access. Originally they thought they might need to do a more extreme extermination (which would have cost a lot more) but once there, they confirmed they could do a less aggressive treatment. It was great that they assessed the situation and used the less expensive approach, since I would certainly have paid for the higher priced service.
Description of Work: Needed to have a large bees nest removed from 3rd floor eave -- only accessible from the outside, so they had to use extension ladders. Turns out the nest was huuggge so we were lucky we had it addressed when we did.

+ -1 moreMary and Dale have been very responsive in terms of scheduling, and very helpful in terms of explaining the life cycle of bees, what we could expect over the winter if we did or did not take action now, etc. His time at the house to apply the powder was relatively short, but they guarantee their work through the end of the calendar year so it's reassuring to know they will come back for free if his initial application didn't kill the nest. I feel that $325 (their basic price) seems a little high, but I did not bother getting other quotes because I wanted a bee specialist to do the job, not a general exterminator.
Description of Work: Dale came, inspected the bee activity and where they were flying, then applied a pesticide powder to kill the yellow jacket nest. Whole process from arrival to finish was about 45 minutes. He explained next steps to me, including what we needed to do to follow-up.

+ -1 moreWe had a very active yellow jacket community making its home on the side of our house and chewing away at our deck furniture. I was very pleased to get service the day after I called (they squeezed me in). The owner's wife pulled to the side of the road to take my call and was very helpful and sympathetic. Her husband arrived the next day and took his time to inspect the whole house (he spotted a hornet nest that I had missed), discussed the treatment of the wood furniture that the bees were consuming, explained what to expect in the next days and weeks after spraying the yellow jacket nest. He couldn't have been more knowledgeable or professional. A price was quoted before the work began. It was expensive but I was very pleased with the entire experience.
Description of Work: Removed a hornet nest from eaves. Treated a corner of the house where yellow jackets were making a home under the boards.

Those usually go together. I would absolutely hire them again. I recommend you call him to come out for a visit.

+ -1 moreI called Mary in a panic when the angry bees were in my house and wasn't sure what to do. She gave me a lot of useful information and was able to schedule the appointment within two days. I had called later on a Saturday afternoon and got an appointment for Monday morning first thing. Jim was great and quite knowledgeable about bees and pests in general. He was clearly enthusiastic about letting us know what he was doing and why. They were a little late but I was called in advance and told they were going to be late.
Description of Work: After we moved in to our new house we noticed bees flying into the vinyl siding by our back door. After a do-it-yourself attempt that did nothing but anger the bees, we decided to call the professionals. Bee Busters came out and took care of the bees by gassing them and then using a substance to be sure any bees not in the nest at the time would not come back. The first appointment had to be rescheduled due to rain, but I was told when I originally called that if it rained they wouldn't be able to apply the pesticide. I was glad they had made that clear when I scheduled the appointment.
