I had the owner Denise give me an estimate 2 years ago. I was unable to have the work done at that time however I was impressed with the professionalism and presentation of the estimate as well as the price. I decided to have the driveway replaced last Fall and called the company to give me an updated estimate which was higher than the original due to the passage of time but still an excellent price. I booked the job and the first appointment available was in early December however they had a cancellation and called me to see if I could have them do it a month earlier. I was quite happy with that and the job was done on November 4th. The crew arrived right on schedule and the foreman was excellent. He and I went over the estimate and the drawing Denise had provided and made sure that they and I were in agreement on everything and then they started work. I was impressed at how efficiently they worked. The driveway replacement was done by early afternoon. To date, everything is fine with it. The driveway is sloped properly to allow for drainage away from the house and the transition to the street is seamless. Previously, I had a bump there. I have had compliments from a number of people and have told them who did it and recommended the company. I will be having them sealcoat it this year and will continue to recommend John Cooper Paving to people.

Met with owner, got a date for the work to be done. Guys showed up early, got right to work, fast, efficient, removed extra dirt upon request, clean, professional.

Came to give and estimate and them came back again when I had a concern with an area of cement that I had. Answered my questions satisfactorily. On day of installation, called to say they would be arriving late because of another job they were finishing up. This was fine with me. When they arrive work progressed smoothly. They answered my questions and requests. All workers were professional and cleaned the job well except for some rocks and chunks of asphalt I found in the grass and bushes. They finished the next day because they started late on the first day. Not a problem for me.

After having problems with another company that never showed, I called John Cooper (who had been my second choice due to long lead time). I expected to get the job done next year since they were pretty booked up. To my surprise they had a cancellation and gave me a December 3rd date. Communication between the company and myself was greatly enhanced by the very friendly and capable office manager Erica. They called as promised the day before and gave me a two hour window during which they would arrive. They arrived on time and the entire job was done in one afternoon.All the guys knew what they were doing and they worked very efficiently. I am pleased with the way the driveway and the walkway came out and would use them again should the need arise.

Difficult communications issues with the owner Denise when dealing with an issue left after installation. To preempt any excuses the owner will offer, here is what happened: The paving crew asked if they could remove the first row of bricks on the pathway leading to the driveway before they installed the asphalt while advising me that the driveway may be a slightly higher or lower than brick path, which I said was ok. After they left, they didn't put back the row of bricks so I called back and arrangements were made to have someone replace them. When they tried to put back the bricks, they left out bricks and others were just laid down in no specific pattern and it looked like a messy quick fix that no one in their right mind would accept. I called to ask if someone could come back to look at the messy, sub-standard work. Denise said she would come back on Monday to look at the brick reinstall. Two days later when I still hadn't heard back from her, I had to contact Denise. Again her aggressive, accusing tone was very off putting and unprofessional. As a resolution, she offered to take out the brick pathway and pave it in asphalt. One would think a paving company would have more experience in dealing with hardscaping, such as brick walkways, as many people have driveways which are bordered by these common landscaping materials and being offered an asphalt walkway to replace it was not a viable or fair solution to me. Now I have to hire a mason to address the damage caused by her pavers. Overall, both my daughter and I found Denise very aggressive (bordering on bullying) on the phone and her offer to repave asphalt over a section of a long brick walkway that was damaged by her company is not a responsible or satisfactory solution.

Team of workers arrived with appropriate equipment. Worked as a team to remove old surface & area for enlarging drive. Prep & new surface applied & cleanup. Done within a few hours same day. All hard workers who worked as a team.

The price was very fair considering that my driveway is very long and had some drainage issues. The owner is very conscientious about the quality of their work. The crew made multiple trips to my home to check on the status of my drainage issue before actually installing the new driveway. They wanted to make sure the conditions were right for the installation work. They did a great job. The driveway drainage has been excellent to date. I plan to use the company to do the sealant work next year. A few of my friends have commented that they did a real nice job.

They originally scheduled to start this job on May 2nd and a couple of day before they were scheduled to start, I had to cancel and reschedule. I was unaware that my city had scheduled road and sidewalk reconstruction days before my contractor was scheduled to start their work. I could not reschedule with my contractor until my city was finished with their reconstruction. Rescheduling was no problem. They understood my dilemma and they thanked me for letting them know about the city's reconstruction. They arrived on time on July 2nd. What I thought would be about 4 to 5 hours to complete, it took them a little over 3 hours. My driveway is awesome!! Neighbors have also complimented to me on how great a job performed by John Cooper Paving & Sealing. They do not seal the drive at time of completion advising to wait a year. It is November 1st and I can see why. You get some porosity in new driveways and over time, the vehicles using the driveway help close most of the porosity. I can tell you that all the people at John Cooper Paving and Sealing handle their business in a professional manner. So much so, and because of their warranty, I will be scheduling them to seal my driveway in late June 2016.

We had the driveway graded and the binder put down by a DIFFERENT COMPANY who did not do the job as requested (the water runoff went in the wrong directions even though I was specific as to how it should drain and they left low spots that collected water) and then refused to call me back when I asked for the final finish grade to be put on. I looked at the reviews of many contractors but could not get over the fact that Denis from Cooper always responded to every single negative Angieslist review (see other prior reviews) and always tried her best to address those issues. This is the sole reason I chose John Cooper to do the paving. Now for my experience: Denis or Erica from Cooper always called me back when there were any changes to the times/dates they would arrive, came exactly as promised and did the work in a very professional way and it looks beautiful. As a result of the PRIOR contractors errors, there were a few areas that needed touchup when they were done. They came without argument and fixed them to my satisfaction and were very respectful and did not complain even though they were trying fix what the other contractor did. Consider this: I paid the bill in full when the job was done and after discovering a few issues they responded to all of my calls and concerns and fixed it to my satisfaction. Many other contractors I have hired have put me off, delayed etc, or never even called me back. Think about this comment hard when you make the decision on a contractor. Cooper calls back and works with you to reach satisfaction. I am very satisfied with their work and professionalism.

They were on-time, communicate well, professional and did a great job. No major issues. Driveway after a week of no use was still wet and left a small smudge with a SUV, but not their fault (was a very hot week)... Overall, would recommend and use again.

Great experience. Denise Cooper came out to give an estimate. Was on time an totally professional. Went into great detail to tell us what would be done. Arrived early in the morning of scheduled date and took great care with the plants at the edge of the driveway. Fixed the sink hole that had developed after last winter, disposed of all the old material, graded and compacted the underlayment before laying down the new asphalt. The driveway looks wonderful and we no longer have puddling. They did a great job.

Their communication is excellent they called back right away and left a quote in my mail box on the day they said they would. The quote for my driveway was less than what I expected and I scheduled the driveway to be sealed. They arrived at my house within the scheduled time, the guys were courteous, professional and did a excellent job.

Everything went exceptionally well. They were all very professional from the estimate through the review of the completed work. They arrived exactly on time and there was a crew of folks working to get my driveway done. The only item that surprised me was how far in advance that they were scheduling since they are in such demand. I highly recommend them.

Company President Denise Cooper and Office Manager Erica Cooper are both great to deal with. They truly care about their customers. Last September, they installed a new driveway at our house and followed up this spring with a letter recommending that we seal coat it. Their offer was fair so we accepted it. Erica gave us a projected date for tomorrow, but the crew came a day early to finish the job. I appreciate that this company monitors the weather so that any work they perform lasts. All in all, we like their work and plan to use them again in the future.

They were prompt but the lady came dressed like charlies angels. She wasn't professional. She wanted the cheque payable to her rather than the company. I didn't feel comfortable with them. Her approach wasn't very professional and she was very flirtatious. I'ts not the type of thing you expect from a paving company. They quoted me $1650.
