Overall the crew did a good job and explained what they were doing, even if they seemed a bit inexperienced. It was a bit of a rocky start in that parking permits should have been pulled since it's hard in Boston to get parking right in front of the building. Also, tools to cut openings in the ceiling were not available in their truck (they did, however, issue me a discount because of this). The end result was good but was kind of stressful because of the other issues.

Steve and his crew showed up promptly within the expected time range. They started the setup needed to complete the project right upon arrival. Steve came in and had a few tests he had to run on our heating system before he started and once that was completed they started taking off the siding and drilling for the holes where the cellulose will be blown into. He also communicated to us beforehand any concerns he had as far as removing the siding especially where it was a cool fall morning that there could be some cracking. He said they would be very careful taking it off and they were. Not one piece was broken or damaged. Throughout the day they worked diligently and was always available to answer any questions or concerns we had. They did a very good job of keeping the work area clean as they worked. They also worked around all of my small bushes to ensure they didn't get stepped on or damaged during the work. He also gave me some knowledge of air leaks and the negative effect they have on utilities. I couldn't believe the statistics of what one 1/2and quot; hole does to your energy efficiency. He said small holes add up fast and before you know it you left the equivalent of one window being open all winter long. Steve said we are going to notice better heat retention and noise reduction from outside. The project was completed in one day and before you know it they were packed up and off they went. They did such a good job keeping the work areas clean you couldn't even tell they were there! I am so happy with the work that was completed and cant wait to have them back again for more of my upcoming insulating projects.

It went well. They worked on one of the coldest days of the year. The cottage is much warmer. However, because this was through Mass Save (a wonderful program), we needed a separate contract for removing the plywood and debris from the attic. Not a problem, because the cost was reasonable, but the InsulPro employees did not realize the full scope of the job. After some phone calls, things went more smoothly. After the snow melted, we realized that they had left the plywood on the ground in the yard. We have a Bagster, so we will put the sheets in there.

We were very pleased. InsulPro was a subcontractor to another company that we actually hired, but since that other company had InsulPro do the work and they were the crew we dealt with, we're reviewing InsulPro. This was done as part of the MassSave program. The $3374 represented the part that we had to pay with the rest (about $3000) being paid by the MassSave program. As an aside, this program is an absolute no-brainer. If you have an older home you should be doing this. MassSave pays most of the bill. We could have split the insulation work over two years if we wanted since MassSave has an annual limit and they would have paid more, but we just wanted it all done before winter. Our house is from 1931 and has never had ANY insulation in the walls, only in the attic. There was one blip on the first day when the crew didn't show up but it wasn't their fault. The general contractor failed to schedule them properly. The rest of the days they were on time, very polite and professional. At another point they cut through an electrical wire running through the wall. They told us that their electrician would fix it and he did, replacing that wire completely. We had been warned that some of the insulation, which is blown in under pressure, could get into the house through cracks - and it did. It wasn't much and easy to vacuum. Better to be warned in advance than surprised. In our case they had to remove a bunch of shingles to drill holes through the underlying panels. They then filled the holes with foam and re-nailed the shingles. We knew that the shingles would not go on perfectly (they warned us) but we plan to paint next year so it didn't matter. Be warned that if you weren't planning to repaint your house and you have wood shingles or clapboards then you should be prepared to do some touch-up painting after they are done. Overall as pleasant an experience as it could be. I would recommend them.

They have a good price and they do a good job. We know of another company that was charging twice much as them for the same job. We liked their price because there is not much of workmanship involved and they just spread the stuff around and are gone in a couple of hours.

I called them to inquire about estimates for the insulation of a home that I have on another property. They mailed me an estimate. This company’s estimate was about 20% higher than another company’s estimate, so I decided to go with the other company.

No problems, on time, very nice to deal with. Very neat and clean. I would use them again.
