Charles called right back. His estimates were right on target. His work is meticulous as stated on Angie's List. He takes pride in his work, very clean. He picked up all debris. I will recommend him to friends and I would use his services again if needed.
Description of Work: Removed existing doors, replaced all exterior trim and thresholds. Installed new doors, replaced all locks and deadbolts. Check all areas for water or insect damage. Replaced any damaged wood.

Chuck always arrived here in Jamaica Plain within minutes of his scheduled arrival. He is very friendly and easy to have in the house. He cleaned up everything. Overall, things went very well. I plan to call him when I am ready to replace my windows next year.
Description of Work: Charles Hass did two carpentry jobs for me in my Jamaica Plain condo. First, he helped in the repositioning of my radiators, which involved cutting up the hardwood floor and then reinstalling new hardwood and finishing it. The only problem is that the new wood makes the old wood look bad! His seams are tighter against the wall and each other than the original. This work needed two visits, and was completed for $320. The second job involved great creativity as he transformed an old antique marble-topped dresser into an entertainment center, with drop-front drawers for holding components. He had to practically rebuild the dresser and it looks better than when he started. Part of the work was done in his workshop (converting the drawers) and part in my house here in Jamaica Plain (the work on the actual dresser frame). The total cost for this conversion was $550. I could never have bought an entertainment center like this for anywhere near the price.

Chuck, the owner and the primary worker in this company, did a small reno in our kitchen, which took a total of two days. First he came by to give an estimate. He showed up on time, and was polite and friendly while he worked. My wife and I both felt comfortable having him in the house. In terms of his work, we were really impressed by Chuck's fastidiousness and attention to detail. The corners of all the window trim are perfect - nice tight corners - and the job he did on our floor is amazing. The final price was exactly what he quoted us. It is so nice to have discovered a carpenter who is honest and friendly and does great work. We have another job in the entryway of our house and will definitely have Chuck come and do that too.
Description of Work: We wanted the floor in our kitchen raised to eliminate a step-up half-way into the room, and an existing door converted into a window. Also, a knee-wall eliminated.
