We have LG appliances and everything stopped working at the same time. The refrigerator icemaker no big deal, the range the oven quit working and the dishwasher blew a motor. He worked really hard to help us. He was with LG and apparently you can't get parts very well. He would order them, reorder them, have them come overnight, they wouldn't show up. He really did try hard. He brought back my money and said he just couldn't work with LG but he tried his best. The experience was horrible but it wasn't his fault. I went out yesterday and bought a new range and a new dishwasher. I think that he is fair and I think that he is honest and I think he really did try. He did all kinds of things to try and make it work. After he put a new motor in the codes started telling him that wires were melted. They didn't tell him that before. He worked on trying to get wires fixed, then it gave him different codes. He even gave me the printouts that he had from the communications he had between him and LG and it was just a nightmare. He told me he would never work on an LG appliance again. He called me and apologized and apologized. In the end, I don't blame him, it just wasn't going to work. I would recommend him and I would use him again if need be. I think that they are very conscientious and work hard. When they couldn't get the dishwasher to work at my house they took it to their shop.
Description of Work: We used Tom's Appliance Sales & Service to try and fix my LG refrigerator, oven, and dishwasher.

We bought the used dryer for $350--he delivered it and took the old one which still worked but just wouldn't turn off on the cycle we used the most. The new dryer squeaked when it first started up on a cycle but would soon quit. Now, two months later, the squeaking has gotten much louder and takes longer to be quiet. A friend of ours said it's probably the dryer slides going out. I called today (9/1/09) and asked them to come repair it as it was still under warranty. The woman I talked with was not helpful and denied that they had said it had a year's warranty--she said it only had a 30-day warranty. I asked if they could come out and fix it and she said "Yes, for $75 service fee--you should have called within the 30 days." I explained that my father had been in the hospital and the dryer was the least of our worries during this time--and besides, the problem has been steadily getting worse over the past two months. They had previously taken away an LG front-loading washer from us for free and either fixed it and sold it again or used it for parts--I know because I called them and asked what they did to it a few weeks after they picked it up. She refused to schedule a service call at no charge even though they had orally promised a one-year warranty and they made money off the LG we had given them. I don't believe that 2 months' service from a dryer is worth $350. These people are very hostile on the phone about their "30-day" warranty. I will not deal with them again.
Description of Work: Came out to give estimate on repairing dryer that would not turn off at end of cycle. Gave us an estimate on repairing the dryer and another estimate on hauling off the dryer and selling us a used one that he said was in great condition and would have a year warranty.
