I was very pleased with their promptness and the young man was very nice. He took into consideration my age and said to call him if there was a problem, considering the heat and the problems I had already had with the unit. I was very impressed with that.
Description of Work: They checked my air conditioner last summer. Price is a flat fee through my home service.

it went well and we are satisfied at the momen.
Description of Work: American Home Shield home warranty contacted these people when our Heat would not come on. They were close by and came pronto. They seemed knowledgable and found a no limit switch was bad and are ordering a new one. They also added freon to our unit when I told them the air conditoning was not reaching the set temperature. They were very nice and fixed what they could very quickly. They by passed the bad switch so we would have heat since the temp. fell to 37 last night and will again tonight so we wouldn't be so cold. They did not say when they would be back to put on he new switch.

This company is rightly a construction company, as far as I can tell. However our home warranty service (AHS) assigned our air conditioner repair to this contractor. This is our second experience with Ground Up Complete Construction. That first contact was also troublesome but not like this contact. As I stated above AHS assigned this ticket to Ground Up Complete Construction Thursday morning at about 7:00 AM. I called the company at about 9:15 trying to determine when they could work on our unit. The person I spoke with stated they would provide me further details later in the day since they had not pulled up or scheduled the requests that came in over night or early in the morning. They finally called back at 1:28 stating they would have a technician dispatched to my house between 1:00 and 3:00 PM. The person that called never stated they would call before proceeding to my house, so I was home at 1:00. The technicians did not show up until 2:45. The initial diagnostics was very quick, a bad compressor. This did not surprise me since we had a similar issue with the upstairs unit in July. Please understand the upstairs unit is very small and can barely cool that area let alone the entire house. The technician initially stated it would take a week to 10 days so the soonest we could expect a complete repair was next Friday. He stated it would take that long to have the correct compressor shipped in. He went on to say that if we wanted to upgrade the unit to the new Freon standard, they could do it much sooner but my part would cost approximately $2600. I recommended he contact a local supplier to find the part (I was able to source the part from two supply houses in town, in less than 10 mins, thanks Google!). So after much discussion and a phone call to who knows who, he stated it would cost $260 for them to take care of the issue and they might not be able to get back to it today. This was less than satisfactory since we had a similar issue fixed for our deductible, plus a $15 fee for disposing of the failed part. The technician also stated that Freon disposal was also part of this charge. Freon disposal is covered by the AHS warranty and should be charged back to AHS, not the customer. I asked the technician to please call back to his dispatcher for clarification on the charges, while I called AHS. The person I spoke with at AHS stated a fee could be levied for part removal; $200 seemed higher than what she had experienced in the past. While the first technician was talking on the phone the second technician attempted to collect the deductible. I wanted to ensure we had reached a mutually agreeable solution before paying any fees. After further discussion, I curtly told the second technician to bill me. His response was ?we have lost more calls to take care of so I don?t care, we will bill you.? As he walked away he said something that sounded derogatory, however I could not tell exactly since my hearing is a little weak. I responded with a less than kindly remark about their service, they both then turned back toward me in a threatening manner and shouted obscenities. As they advanced toward me, I went back into the garage to get something to defend myself with. They then proceeded to their vehicle and I followed ensuring they actually left. This was not a pleasant experience. I don?t have air conditioning! If we have further issues of any sort, my wife and I will clearly state to AHS that we do not want this company or its representatives on or near our property!
