I had two 17 year old water heaters that needed to be replaced in my 2nd and 3rd floor attics. I had used SMJ plumbing for a minor issue a few months previously. Stephen did a great job, so I wanted to use his company again. I called Stephen on a Tuesday. He helped me choose the replacement water heaters over the phone. The order was then placed to the manufacturer. The following Wednesday Stephen and Tony promptly arrived and installed both water heaters in about 4 hours. They did a great job protecting the floors and stairs. They were both very conscientious about not making a mess and cleaning up after themselves. A friend of mine recently replaced his water heater for a few hundred dollars less, so I'm sure I could have done this project a little bit cheaper. However, for the extended warranty and excellent job performance, I feel SMJ charged a very fair price. I will definitely use SMJ in the future.

It went great. Stephen was very responsive, He explained the pros and cons of each system, stated the unit he intended to use, detailed the efficiency and cost, and provide installation options for indoor - outdoor. After seeing the job on site, asked is he could do a few additional minor plumbing, to which he responded quickly and provided very reasonable estimates. It was a pleasure working with this company and Stephen in particular.

Steven answered the phone immediately and provided an estimate over the phone giving me three options for water heaters based on years of warranty. He made a couple of calls and came out to replace our 16-year old electric water heater late on a Sunday afternoon. His service was exceptional and he and his partner even cleaned up after themselves. Thank you, Steven.

After initial contact, they came out to get the scale of the jobs we wanted. They were very professional and gave us a very accurate quote on the job. It took a few weeks to complete and we are completely satisfied.

Steve was outstanding! He was conscientious, professional and considerate of our home. He even loaned us a fan to dry out our saturated carpet! Would definitely hire again and recommend to anyone who needs a terrific plumber!

We told the plumber there was no urgency since we had 3 bathtubs and he could come the next day. He decided to come after hours anyway and saw immediately that there was no problem with the tub: we had just forget to put down the handle which made the water drain excessively slow. the plumber charged us $155.00 for the above. He did absolutely no work: he literally put the handle down in the tub and ran some water: this procedure took between 10-20 seconds. We live in a $500, 000 house and this 33 year old decided to be grossly unprofessional and charge us a dishonest price because in his eyes we had the money to pay. Unfortunately, I, the wife, wrote the check even though I knew the plumbing price was dishonest. After Stephen left, I talked the matter over with my invalid husband, and he said it was critical that we inform the public of this plumber's dishonesty. The plumber actually said he charged me more: because of the bad driving conditions due to excessive rain. I had told him over the phone that he could come the next day but irregardless one does not punish the customer for the weather when one was told up front that the problem was not at all urgent. This young man is greedy and envious. I assume Stephen is used to doing average middle class to lower class homes and assumed he could commit highway robbery with us since we have a wealthy home. He commented with envy how gorgeous our home and property was. I did call Stephen several minutes after he left our home and told him I would pay him a $100.00 for coming out and if he was not willing to compromise and take a professional offer, I would have to write an unfavorable review. His listening ability over the phone regarding the above matter was pathetic: he had no desire to even listen to logic or reason.

I was completely satisfied and pleasantly surprised. Steven was on time, professional, and made sure everything was is working order before he left. He's my new go to plumber.

Great job despite very busy schedule

With our very cold temperatures the night of January 16, 2019, my outside water pipe froze and burst, and I had no water on our icy morning of the 17th. I called Stephen and left a message--then continued trying to locate another Angie's-list-A-rated plumber who might be available; in the mid afternoon, I thought I had set an appointment with another provider--but when that technician still had not called me at 6pm with an ETA (and their office had stopped taking calls at 5pm), I called Stephen again; he answered his phone from the HomeDepot where he was getting supplies for a job, and said he'd put me in line; I was to photograph the frozen, broken water pipe on my deck, and he'd be back in touch. I sent the photo and a description of my issue to the Angie's list phone, which--as it turned out--was not the line he could receive a text and photo on. Still, about the time I was thinking he'd have to put me on his schedule for the next day--Stephen followed up--calling me to say he "still had not received the photo he had asked for", and he was on his way to my house! Stephen and an assistant arrived around 9:20pm; fortunately, they brought extra lighting and had the pipe fixed in a half an hour; (we had to wait for the City Works crew to come turn the water on again at the street, but all in all this was a tidy fix on a dark, cold night in Slidell.) I have found SMJ Plumbing to be responsive, prompt, professional, flexible, ready and able to attend to all matter of plumbing issues; tonight is not the first time he has worked at this address in the dark! I highly recommend SMJ Plumbing!!

The gentlemen were very polite and professional. The work was done efficiently and with minimal fuss. SMJ will be my go-to plumber from now on.

I called at 8:00 am, spoke to company owner, Stephen Jordan, and explained the problem. He said he had a crew out on another job and he would send them over as soon as they were finished. Two SMJ technicians were at my door about an hour later and got started immediately. After finding the leak and cutting out a section of pipe, they had to go offsite to pick up a non standard fitting needed for the water meter connection. They returned a short while later and completed the job by 11:00 am. I was very satisfied with the quick response and professional service.

Instead of doing unnecessary work, they fixed the problem with little expense and did an inspection of other plumbing. Very happy with the service.

Stephen was able to make it to my residence on the same day I called. We toured my attic and I insisted I wasn't in any hurry for replacement. One week later, he texted me with a complete estimate of $2400. Aware that this was a very well made, high/end, high performing tank- less unit, I was very pleased at his price. (note to homeowners....these tank-less hot water heaters require a vertical (wooden) support to be custom built on-site in order to install these units in your attic. Knowing of this requirement before even shopping for a plumbing installer, I was well aware of the amount of labor and materials involved to do this job.) So, his very skilled plumber and "helper" showed up promptly. They introduced themselves and began the work right away. The helper kept me informed as to each step of small inconvenience necessary to do the job (water and or gas temporarily shut off; location of a convenient 15 amp. electrical circuit needed to power the unit's computer, internal re-circulation motor and so forth.) These skilled technicians/plumbers completed the entire process in about 4 hrs.; and of course "in-serviced" me on the basics of the unit and how it operated ; all like a well choreographed performance. The entire process of installation, price and performance of this unit far exceeded all my expectations. I'm recommending the integrity, skill and professionalism of SMJ Plumbing to everyone. I was told they were on a job but would get me next. We're at the house within a few hours. As house had no clean outs outside, had to remove a couple toilets to snake. Got clog removed and things flowing again. Then in about 4-5 days backed up again. Came back out and this time I requested a camera in the sewage lines. Started racking up cost when couldn't get out to septic and had to cut a clean out line in on side of house. Ultimately determined that relative visiting from out of town's feminine products were the culprit. Costly summer visit.

The work was fine, as I would expect from any licensed plumber. The problem was that the prices were extremely high. There is an apprentice sent with the plumber. He basically watches, but you end up paying the price of two plumbers. If you hire this company, ask ahead of time how much it costs for specific tasks so that you can shop around.

I called Stephen in the early afternoon. Was guaranteed service at 6 PM. He was able to send Brandon much earlier! Problem solved in minutes! I absolutely recommend SMJ for all plumbing needs!

As promised, we received a call about 30 minutes before they were to arrive. The work was completed quickly and professionally. They even tested everything to make sure that the dryer was properly connected and functioning. We only expected the valve to be installed!

Great. I called Stephen of SMJ plumbing on a Saturday morning and he dispatched Brandon, his "ace" immediately out to my house in Madisonville. What we encountered unfortunately was a 3 year old hot water heater with a faulty clicker (just like a gas BBQ) which speaks volumes of the cheap parts they put on expensive plumbing equipment. Brandon is extremely professional A-Z. He had me back in business in a matter of business and my wife is even happier. I highly highly recommend Stephen's company and give them 5 *****'s in the sense of urgency category.
