Stephen did a top-notch job in explaining my choices in water heaters and helping me decide to purchase a tankless water heater. He and his helper did an excellent job with the installation--even vacuumed up when they were finished. I've been pleased with the heater and now consider SMJ Plumbing as my permanent plumber.

Stephen was very professional and responsive. He worked with us to find a time to troubleshoot it, showed up promptly, and at all stages provided updates and feedback to ensure the entire process went smoothly all the way to ease of online invoicing and payment.

I thought the price was okay. They sent out one technician and it took less then one hour. They guy was easy to talk to, he worked the whole time he talked with me. Main thing is it worked. He also left the area really clean.

i would like to start off by saying WOW!! the representative who initially answered my call was extremely helpful and understanding. He arrived at my house within 30 minutes. he surveyed the issues and gave me a quote the same day. after i approved it and gave him the go ahead he had his techs out working to get my gas turned back on as fast as possible. they worked yesterday in pretty cold temperatures and it was even drizzling at one point. the worked their butts off and got it all running so that i could turn on my heater and hot water. they were tremendously helpful, professional, and friendly. in other words, life savers.

The job went very well. I called Stephen (after finding him on Angie's list) in somewhat of a panic the afternoon of Dec. 7th after I discovered the heater leaking into the ceiling. Stephen asked if it was an emergency and I said I had shut off the water to that heater so it was not an immediate emergency. He said he could order the two replacement tanks and have them delivered the next morning and would be at my house by 8:00 A.M. on the 8th. The delivery truck and Stephen both showed up on time. Stephen brought his good helper, Jason, plus two other helpers from another project. When they unpacked the new heaters, Stephen discovered that one had been damaged in shipping so he immediately ordered a replacement. The replacement showed up within the hour. It was not an easy task getting two heaters up those rickety attic stairs but they handled it with no problem. Stephen did not want to go through the stairs in the house to ensure he did not take the chance of damaging anything or getting anything wet in the house. He went through the garage stairs and hauled the one heater across the obstacle course in the attic. Both heaters were installed and working perfectly by 12:30 P.M.. Stephen was very professional and confident in his work. Stephen also provides handyman services so we went over a few things that he could do. We looked at replacing our 29 year old oven which is a problem because they don't make the exact oven/microwave combo anymore. He also said we could replace the low rated attic stairs with upgraded 300 lb. rated units. Coincidentally, they had to repair a bolt that broke on the stairs in the garage. If I have any type of work done in the future (and we have a lot of upgrades to do) I will definitely called Stephen to see if he can do it.

For quotes, I first turned to HVAC companies that I had done business with before. Their prices seemed too high so I decided to try Angie's List. SMJ Services was highly rated with good reviews so I called Stephen for a quote. I sent him photos, info, and measurements of my current unit in the garage via text message and he was able to text me back a quote within just 3 hours. Stephen's initial quote was for a larger (50gal) name-brand water heater, but not a Rheem, so I was leaning toward going with another provider who had that brand. When I notified Stephen, he was said he would get a Rheem for me, same size and same price, AND he reminded me of my 15% Angie's List discount for labor. That sealed the deal. Overall, I had spent a week getting quotes from several other providers before calling SMJ Services. Consequently, I did not want to wait much longer for installation once I decided to go with SMJ. Stephen understood and scheduled me for completion within 24 hours. SMJ called me at lunch the next day and said they were on the way. Stephen and his assistant, Jason, were fast, courteous, and professional. The job was completed in about an hour and Stephen emailed me a printable invoice from his phone right there in the house. (He takes cash, debit, and major credit cards.) I filled in my payment info- which took about two minutes- and a printable receipt popped up. Transaction completed, Stephen thanked me for the business, verified that the area was cleaned up, and was on his way to the next job. I'm a very happy Customer. JB

Pretty much as smooth as it could possibly go! I called Mr. Jordan on a Wednesday after hours and, to my surprise, he answered the call. I explained the problem (clogged bathroom sink - a recurring issue) and we agreed that he would come out Friday morning. He was responsive to my phone calls and text messages. When Mr. Jordan arrived he began diagnosing my problem immediately. What I liked most was that he explained what he was doing and why ... in terms I could understand. After about 20 minutes my sink was fixed.

I called Stephen last Thursday to check on our garbage disposal and also on a possible leak in the dishwasher. He arrived exactly when the appointment was set up. He freed and cleaned the disposal and repaired the leak. He asked us to keep an eye on the connection and let him know if we notice anything else leaking. Stephen took my 15% Angie's list coupon which definitely helped to keep the repair cost low. I am very satisfied with his work and would recommend him to everyone. We will definitely use him in the future!

I contacted him on a Sunday and let him know what was happening with our leaking well. He came out and checked out the problem. He went and bought the tank and installed in promptly. I would recommend him.

Work went smooth. Great cleanup of the job site after the work was done. He really paid attention to the details. Took a look at a couple of other issues while here and gave me an on the spot quote.

Returned our call promptly scheduled and appointment and showed up on time. Quickly identified the source of water flooding our backyard as a small pvc pipe buried adjacent to our slab. Dug up the damaged area by hand and spliced a new joint in the line. All in all about two hours. Considering the location of repair a dishonest worker could have easily padded the bill. He even pumped the water out of the yard. We recommend him without reservation.

Stephen did a GREAT job replacing our old cast iron pipes and installing new plumbing for our kitchen and laundry room. He was very responsive and did a quality job all the way around. I'll definitely use him again!

Old faucets in extra bathroom were damaged and needed repair. I called Stephen and he was able to come out that evening to assess the job. He returned the following day with the repair parts, exactly when he said that he would, and completed the repair. Stephen was very professional and knowledgable, I highly recommend his services.

Stephen installed all of the plumbing and fixtures in my wife's studio about six months ago, and everything is working perfectly. For the amount of work done, his price was extremely reasonable and we felt completely satisfied with the transaction. He was always responsive to my calls if anything came up and impressed me with his professionalism and reliability. Basically, he strikes me as a trustworthy, conscientious person who does very good work. I would hire him again.
