What Keith told us would be an 8 week job ran on month after month. We signed contracts in Feb, hoped to have a pool party for my son's 10th birthday in April. The only thing in my back yard for his birthday was some pvc pipe. Excuses followed excuses. Weather, labor, truck broke down, can't rent equipment, concrete company can't make it today etc etc etc. When asked about the documentation he was supposed to give us AT SIGNING (insurance), he was always going to get that next week. Had to talk to his agent, but they would get it asap. In June the gunite company showed up and did our shell. Found out later that it is was neither gunite nor the contracted size. Not their fault, they just did what Keith told them to do, and since he wasn't even there most of the day (I was) things just kind of turned out how they turned out. At that point we still did not know what we did not know, but were happy to see ANYTHING happening, and wrote him another check when he showed up with a couple of laborers to begin the forming for the deck. "Sorry for all the delays, but I have good labor now and we will be done in 4 weeks". Put in a good 10 days of work building form and doing iron before he asked for a $10k early draw and $4K change order payment which he "needed to keep rolling at this pace". He was ready to pour concrete deck tomorrow he said, and if we wanted to keep the workers on site and everything uninterrupted then we needed to pay today; so we did. Tomorrow came. No concrete. No workers. Work stopped again. More excuses, more delays. July, August, September, Novemeber. He showed up a day or two here and there. Put a pergola up in 2 days at the beginning of August. Dropped of some travertine a few weeks later, which they began to install but stopped. A couple weeks later a different guy showed up to tear out and reinstall, but then he disappeared and that was the last we saw of anyone. Keith was told to produce my docs proving he could LEGALLY be on site. My home insurance was ready to renew, and they would not conver any "unauthorized" work done at my house. All I got from Keith was a lot of threats and misdirection. "How about a Hold Harmless instead of insurance?" Called Secretary of State and they informed us that his license has not been good since 2013. Called the parish and they informed us that NO job permits had been pulled for my address. Deadline came and went, he produced nothing, so he was told not to come back on site, we hired an attorney and here we are. In hindsight he seems to trade on the fact that most home owners (like us) don't do this alot and have NO idea what is normal and routine. Seemed to get aggravated that we didn't understand why 10 months after he started we were not even HALF WAY done?!?! "Thats just how it goes." He would tell us. Interviewing new contractors led me to other people also in this same boat with Keith. Turns out this is not just how it goes, at least not with reputable builders. Looks like I will be in line down at the court house. Mean while, all 4 contractors who showed up to bid on fixing Keith's work have said 90% of it will have to be torn out and redone. Seems when you are not worried about permits and inspections you do not really care if your work is up to code. Lesson learned I guess. Do you homework up front and save a bunch of time and effort on the back end.
Description of Work: Hired Keith to build a pool, fire pit, outdoor kitchen, and do office renovation. He told us it would be an 8 week project. He took $56,000 from us over a 10 month period filled with delays in the work and excuses as to why he couldn't produce the required documentation before we finally put our foot down. Work was never even close to being finished, but what was done was NOT up to code and had to be torn out and redone by someone else. We have hired an attorney.

We have files a lawsuit, but he continues to dodge service. DO NOT use this company or any company associates with Keith Bohannon
Description of Work: They are scam artist and Keith Bohannon is a con man. He took 50% of the cost of our pool renovations as down payment (approx $10000) then did hardly any work. He continued to make excuses as to why he wasn't doing the work, and the 1 day his crew did work they did a shoddy job. He never paid his subcontractor, leaving us to foot that bill as well to keep a lean from being placed on my home.
