The kitchen countertop installation was a disaster mainly due to the poor quality performance of Home Depot's subcontractor Slidell Kitchen and Bath. I think the installers from Slidell Kitchen and Bath (SKB) were confused and thought they were coming to demo my entire kitchen. They took multiple chunks of wood out of my kitchen cabinets when removing the old countertops. The installers were whiny and unprofessional about having to remove the old tile countertops even though they were getting paid $13.00 per square foot to do so. They also didn't seem to know what they were doing until their boss helped them find their way. They caused significant damage to the drywall behind the old tile backsplash. I had to spend hours and seek the help of another professional to repair the drywall damage so a new backsplash could be mounted to the wall. Additionally, SKB did account for the fact that the old countertops were "thicker" or taller from their base than the old ones. Therefore, the new corian backsplash was too short. This was mixup between Home Depot and SKB, but no one wanted to take responsibility for it. Thankfully Home Depot made it right and we got a backsplash of the correct height. SKB also left behind chunks of tile and mortar throughout my cabinets. I had to vacume and clean them out myself. Home Depot's representatives were always very professional and easy to deal with. It just didn't work out well having a middleman between me and the installer. The carpet installation was great. No problems.
Description of Work: I purchased kitchen countertops and later carpet through Home Depot.

Home Depot Inc. I was there probably back in June of last year. I think it was like $40 for the rental. There is a large selection of tools. And usually the availability. They usually have tools available because they have enough in stock. Their customer service skills is good for the most part. It's good.
Description of Work: Home Depot Inc. has equipment rental which I've use.

They hired somebody to install the appliances. I had a little problem with the hood over the stove which wasn't put up too well. I went and fixed that myself. The counters and the flooring went in well. The sink went in and the plumbing that was hooked up to it on the bottom, it seemed like they could have routed the down pipe a little further because too much water in the sink will back up in the other drain. I can't blame them because of the space allotment on each and everything. I had a clear glass top put on my stove and Home Depot didn't tell me that it was going to get scratched easily when I purchased it. My refrigerator that I bought from them was missing a drawer and I went through the general electric company and after a couple of times I got that sorted out. I would use them again in the future.
Description of Work: I bought appliances and flooring from Home Depot a couple of years ago. They also did my countertops and the kitchen.
